The batter heard it, but do you think either the MC Catcher or Blue Behind the Plate will own up to it? The guy was out to lunch! We certainly aren't 'professionals' when it comes to the sport but we have never seen a 'photographer box' painted on the field! Catcher was almost knocked unconscious at home and she didn't even have the ball to make the play........ Admittedly, we might not have won the game, but a more fair score would have been 3-2 and not 6-2. It's just so discouraging to see. Yes, I know that kids have to learn that 'life's not fair' but when it's adults vs. kids it makes it REALLY unfair. (hey M.C. fans, this isn't at all a rant against you guys! Good, clean game by the coaches and players!! And I didn't mean to insinuate that it's the ONLY reason you made it to Spring Fling! Proud of you gals)

If you had been at their sub-state game against Collinwood you would know the only reason they made Spring Fling THIS year was because of the home plate ump! I'm sure he's going to love answering to the report being filed on him! Man, if they could have taken him with them Coalfield wouldn't have had a prayer................. (yes, i'm a Collinwood fan)

Honetsly, if i knew squat about the team this year I might be talking just a little more but I have to encourage each of you to keep it up. Its always a nice break from my daily 'grind' to read some of these posts. I'm proud that people are so passionate about HS Football but I can't help but wonder if they have OTHER things to tend to! Sorry to keep talking girls but it happened with Wayne County and Collinwood in 1988. WC won both regular season match-ups and Collinwood won district, region and state. schools 12 miles apart.

Collinwood only lost Jordan Martin. They have a lot of experience returning as most of the girls have started since their freshman year. They lost a couple of players last year due to injury. Second baseman Ashley Victory broke her ankle and missed the 2nd half of the season, but she is back and healthy. Pitcher Lacee Ray is healthy after having an injury late in the year also. These 2 seniors will be joined by at least 6 other seniors and some very talented juniors and sophs. I'm not sure what the freshman class brings, but we will find out soon. Carly Dicus will be solid on pitching also. If this team stays healthy, they could make a run at the state. Good luck to these girls and all the other teams.

Well i'm certainly not qualified to give you a scouting report but I can tell you that they should be a good game for you. They do have Andrews and Daniel who are probably averaging 30+ between the two. They have another tough guard, Ward, they have some strong forward and post play as well. They also can pull some girls off of the bench that can hold their own. They are a fairly well disciplined team, handle the ball well, pressure the ball well and they really don't like to lose! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Good luck to you!

You are speaking a WEALTH of wisdom ptguard. It took me a long time to realize that the players typically play and carry on without much rivalry to them. It's the 'ignornace' of the adults involved that jade the kids, i'm 100% convinced of that. I am never surprised when I get to witness another outburst from a parent because their son or daughter is not getting the ball passed to them or because the Coach won't do something that THEY think should be done or because a referee is "calling against" one team or the other. You know something else I have learned, their words do not do one bit of good! 90% of the time the intended target doesn't even hear the message. I know i'm preaching to the quoir here and that i'm only sounding off to make myself feel better but I have sat through many games that were almost ruined by the foolishness and selfishness of 'well-meaning' parents. If some of them REALLY meant well they would stay at home. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> It's sad to hear about an incident like this but it does happen. I'm sure the girl meant no 'unsportsmanlike' conduct but what a beautiful moment it would have been for the Richland folks to have taught their daughters a lesson of GOOD sportsmanship that they would never forget. I'm sure they will LONG remember what acutally happened. Keep up the good work on here PG.
