  1. Hey Wes, Sorry you didn't get to see the game. Were you a few miles away as W.C. squeaked out a win? I bet THAT was a great game. Most of the talk Friday night was that the Trojans looked pretty good. You hit the nail on the head with two things. Penalties were ATTROCIOUS. The boys REALLY have to work on the technical aspect. They did have one turnover (that I can remember) that was on the 1 or 2 yard line. Don't let Online's post kid you, Loretto was by no means 2 to 3 plays from winning this ballgame. No offense Mustangs because you played great but the view from the other side of the field showed Collinwood just 2 to 3 plays away from making it embarrasing. Hey Tired mom, if you are reading, I applaud your young mens heart and determination but did you notice one player, in particular, with a lot of, well, attitude? Even late into the game it seemed that he was continously taunting the Collinwood players. In fact, I think I remember seeing him get 2 personal fouls and was just a hair away from getting a 3rd or 4th. I just wanted to see what your opinion of it was. Good luck on the rest of the season. T
  2. Hey Blueboy, You speak with such knowledge on this subject. Sounds like you have been a "victim" of the Wildcats a time or two yourself. EVERYTHING that you say is true!!! Wildcats with the victory. T
  3. You know Tackle, the more people that read your post, the more good marks you will get. Thanks for such a sensible and well thought out reply to Wizard. Though it sounds like Wizards intent is to somewhat ruffle the feathers of the "anti-private gang" (i think that is how he said it) his arrow does not hit home like it did this time a year ago. I think for the most part the "commoners" are tired of arguing and just want to enjoy the game as much as possible. Good luck to all!!! Go Trojans!!! T [Edited by thelma on 8-30-02 11:59A]
  4. I wasnt meaning to say anything about ur attitude or what u stand for all of the things you have talked about are admirable. Alot of things i have said have been in jest, but i need to remeber that people can only take what u say here literally, because they cant assume ur intent. Good luck to you and yours for the upcoming season and i hope not only nooone gets hurt but that your year is filled with memorabl moments. Hey Chakra, Does more than one person have access to your username? Because I could swear that two different people are talking here. Just kidding you too Chakra. Glad to see you come around to the positive side every now and then. Good luck on YOUR season. Hope the Eagles don't dissapoint you. (until they get to Collinwood) T
  5. Kudos Tired Mom. I see no reason in people not being able to post positive remarks. I like the way you support your team and I hope you are able to come on over to Pat Brewer Stadium Friday night. Good luck!!! T P.S. I like your user name. I think MANY people can relate to it.
  6. Sounds great to me guys!! Lets do our best to get it rolling!! Thanks CPA!! T [Edited by thelma on 8-28-02 12:13P]
  7. Thanks Scout!! Hope you get a chance to come down this season!! T
  8. Well i just think they will cause they have somethin to prove. Ezell doesnt. Now Chakra, behave yourself!! We have a good thread going here. Seems to me like the only one with anything to prove is you. Be positive buddy!!! Best Wishes Bigtimer. I hope you get to play against Collinwood as well. Go Trojans!! T
  9. You're right Online. A lot of people don't understand that when you get away from the bright lights of Nashville there really aren't THAT many things to do so you PLAY BALL. Every so often, when that playing and practicing pays off, it gets the entire town excited. It's been said on here before and I will say it again Collinwood people are the greatest. Lots of luck this season Online. T
  10. Many thanks to you Bighurt. On the contrary, the CPA crowd picking up the litter on their side of the stadium left us all in awe. Thanks for helping to spread good will. Hey, we were so impressed that we carried that practice with us the next week at Ezell when they pounded our brains out. Thanks again, I think you guys are headed for a great year as well. T P.S. Herbert Luker and company are great guys and truly class acts!!
  11. Great insight Blueboy. From what I can tell you live in Metro Lynchburg so it must be hard to put your "blueboys" in the lower half. Obviously, too, you have done more research that I have. You are probably dead on with your predicitons. Remember, never rule out Wayne County. Especially when it comes to Collinwood. There has always been a strange mojo there. Hey, you should know. I think they have stuck it to M.C. a time or two in the past when it should have been the other way. Good luck on the season. T
  12. Hey, if I were a reporter in the area then I would LOVE writing about CPA. You know why? They are class acts!!! Hang in there CPA and good luck. (and I am a public schooler!!) T
  13. I don't think there will be any overtimes either. I FEEL like it will be Collinwood by a couple of touchdowns. My guess would be 34-20. Loretto did start out on a pretty good note and will hopefully continue to improve but if Collinwood comes out with all of their wheels rolling they will be extremely hard to stop. Good luck to all. As for the sportsmanship thing don't let that get to you. That is just someone seeing how upset they can get you on here. I have grudges against schools that have NEVER done anything to me but just their "actions" make you unable to like them. Unless someone does something that is just above and beyond the call then most positive sportsmanship never gets noticed by the other team anyway. Besides, you've been there. When you really aren't wanting to like someone in the first place then you will find TONS of things that they are doing wrong. A lot of people on this board might be to young to remember but I was around in the day that NOONE wanted to play Loretto. They were just that tough. Hang in there and take those negative comments and turn them around for the positive. Hey Trojansportsfan, what do you mean? Would you really want to give my identity away? See you Friday night!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO GREEN!!!!!
  14. What are the thoughts on this game? I got to see Loretto on Friday night and I have to say that I was quite impressed. The Mustangs handled the defending champs pretty good. How do these teams match up and what will a score be. Hey Coach-T, if you are reading, what did you think of the game Friday night? T
  15. Blueboy, What is your opinion on the region this year? I will let you know from the beginning that I am from Collinwood so I have to say my Trojans will win it but how tight do you think it will be? To be honest, just reading this board and hearing your comments AND knowing how tough our region can be some years, I am even wondering if M.C. can pull a play-off birth. I can guarentee you that Wayne County will be tough and I'm not sure how good C.A. or Mt. Pleasant are this year but they always give us a game. Look forward to hearing from you. T
  16. Hey TnBball, Please let me say that the ENTIRE sparks team did not have a bad attitude and I saw exactely what you say about Ashley. Seemed like a great kid. I suppose that every now and then you let one mouthy player skew your idea of the entire team and that one player for the sparks is the one that stands out in my mind. Like I said though, of the 60 or so girls that I saw compete I saw nothing but class. Girls that were out there for one purpose and that was to play basketball. Not to humiliate their opponent or hurt the other team or to even mouth off to somebody but just to get better at the game. The more I think back on it the more I see the reason that Tennessee ladies basketball is the best in the nation. (wish I could say the same about the refs) P.S. The Nationals are in Michigan July 12-20!!! [Edited by thelma on 5/20/02 1:16P] [Edited by thelma on 5/20/02 1:18P]
  17. I have to agree with Angie just a little here. I saw most of the games in this tourney and the ONLY attitude that I saw came from the sparks team. They just seemed to be a little "crude" I guess you could say. As far as a tourney "m.v.p." my vote would have to go with Britney Frazier, Elite. That girl is nothing but smooth, level headed and can take an entire team out of a game when she wants. It was my first chance to see her in action. Haynes was awesome, don't get me wrong, but she didn't perform to the level of hype that I had heard about her. She did have a great attitude though. It was a super tournament all the way around. Go job 17's!!!
  18. Angie, I only hope you can be at this tournament because it should be one of the best in the state. Everyone on here has listed Elite, Pride, and Smokies. The only reason is because those are the only names that they know in that age group. There are seven other teams in this age group and I can GUARANTEE that at least a couple of those teams are going to be very aggressive and competitive and (like I predicted earlier) will probably upset a couple of teams. Good Luck to all!!! [Edited by thelma on 5/10/02 10:23A]
