  1. He's definitelt got game. He's also got baggage. I guess the question is will he take the game or the baggage to Oak Hill? Whatever the case, if he goes at least he will finally get a coach.
  2. I would think the assistant principal at an academic magnet would be able to count. There is no way there are "1502" permanent seats in that gym. Not to mention if there is a crowd they better get the Titans shuttles to drop them off.
  3. Elliott, I'm noy trying to push any 7AA buttons or slap any faces. I just think that this year 8AA is stronger from top to bottom. I do think that Upperman will beat Lipscomb though. Good luck to all the teams, 7AA and 8AA.
  4. What about that bunch of flunkies Doc keeps around him? Does he think they will protect him if he makes someone mad? Must be that old safety in numbers theory.
  5. Throw out Macon Co. and 8AA is heads above 7AA competition wise. Way too much parity in 8AA. Springfield came in eigth in the league and might have had the most tallent. I bet they would have a winning record if they played in 7AA.
  6. Good job Coach G. What a remarkable showing in the tourney. The most interesting game has to be the first round match up between Glencliff and Hillsboro. This could have been the championship game. What does everyone else think?
  7. Both teams have another opponent first. Let them take care of that first. Did anyone realize that Upperman put Hume Fogg out of the tournament the last two years?
  8. Doc suffers from little man syndrome. He has to put on a big show because he's affraid no one is paying attention to him. Four years ago in the state tournament MLK was blowing out Brainard. Doc ripped off his shirt like he was in a nail biter. Everyone was watching his team and not him. It's all about him and not his team. Funny, he had a Mr. basketball one time. I wonder how he liked that? Maybe he didn't. That might have something to do with the way he acts now.
  9. After reading the posts from NE Tennessee I thought it would be good to get input from people in Middle Tennessee. What does everyone think?
  10. Didn't mean to sound racist and I'm sorry people took it that way. My point is that most of the kids that are responsible for the teams success do not live close to the school and the kids that do live close to the school do not get to play that much. Here's a question for any of you that know. Of the top ten players in the rotation, how many of them live in the Brentwood area and how many of them receive financial aid?
  11. I pick White Station also but what a great player Pickell is. Wouldn't you like to have him and Andy Wicke from Hendersonville in your backcourt. Get those 3ball signs ready!!!!!!
  12. I have no dog in this fight. The refs were poor and the best "TEAM" won.
  13. The referees are picked by time served and mechanics. A group of officials are picked out and then evaluated. If they hustle up and down the floor and have good mechanics they will probabl get their turn. The sad thing is that judgement is not a factor. Getting the calls right are not a factor. Just how you look and have you paid your dues. So many inconsistencies with the way these games have been called this week. There has to be a better system!
  14. Don't be naive Pantherbert. He doesn't have a big neon flashing light over his door saying recruiting office now open. He doesn't have to. He is not the only one down in Memphis either. All of those big kids just show up at Hamilton because of his coaching ability. Funny how Carver, South Side, Kirby, North Side and Kingsbury have been down for a while to name a few. Oh yeah, Kingsbury lost their recruiting coordinator to Mitchell. Nice Freshman class. Speaking of coaching, it sure was nice of Johnson to call those timeouts for Temple's offensive possessions that set up those nice inbounds baskets.
  15. If Hamilton's coach could coach as well as he can recruit the ref's would not have been as big a factor. They had Bradley completely dominated with their size and they stood outside trying to outshoot Bradley. Why??????????????
  16. He really played well! He carried the team today.
  17. He can really play. The best H'ville player I've ever seen!
  18. That kid can really play!!!!!!!!!! The better team won. Officiating was suspect just like every state tourney. It's not about the best officials but whose turn is it. Wadele Williams... Overated.
  19. How about that for recruiting? John Patton covers the Antioch area like a fog. His Wolfpack Jr Pro teams are used to get the attention of the best athletes in the area. Then he conveniently encourages his kids to check out BA. He works with the middle school team at BA but since there are no athletic records before the seventh grade there is technically no recruiting violation.
  20. Paxton are you the president of the Scott Smith fan club?
  21. Who are the candidates for this job? Does anybody know?
  22. Either there was no contract for the game or the coaches are buddies. Would a football or basketball coach cancel a game because their poor little players were hurt. No need to answer.
  23. Isn't it funny that Wright showed up at a school where his two brothers can get a free ride. If only Goodpasture had tried the family plan.
  24. This job appears to just be a stepping stone for coaches. But with no assistants and a potentially miserable school day this stone may be on quick sand. Only somebody hard up to say they are a head football coach would take this job. I think Campbell was lucky to get out. Now he has the best football job in metro.
