This quote makes no sense at all to me. Why would I as a University of Tennessee student, and being from East Tennessee want to see these players out there for the big orange. I've saw many of the area teams play and enjoy watching these athletes as much as anybody else. If you want UT to start signing all these in-state players, we might as well try to move to the SWAC conference or try to play division II. There's reason Vanderbilt is the armpit of the SEC. It's because they recruit players heavly in-state. Congradulations to Vanderbilt, for finally getting their first SEC win in like 4 years.
This is a high school website so I apologize about having to talk about Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Fact of the matter is, UT is a top notch program who recruits the top players in every state(ex. Ellix Wilson, Demonte Boldin) Why would they sacrifice other number one state prospects, so some tennessee high school fans could get that warm fuzzy feeling about seeing someone they know play.
UT-K does recruit in-state. How about these guys.
John Henderson, Will Bartholomew, Troy Fleming, Cedric Wilson, Shaun Summers, Demonte Boldin, Ellix Wilson, Charles McCray, and some of the other greats
I'm sorry, but i'd rather have a 10 win UT team with players from all over, than that junior college team playing in Nashville.
