  1. Back: Terrence Holt - Maplewood Line: Thomas Majors - Maplewood (if linebackers are included in the line judging)
  2. Maplewood has four guys that are being heavily recruited by Tennessee, Vandy, Memphis, Louisville, Auburn, Illinois, Colorado, and almost every mid-major, & I-AA in the south! Terrence Holt - RB/DB Thomas Majors - LB Sadaris Jones - LB/SS Jonathan Moore - WR
  3. Terrence Holt has to be considered the top returning back in the state, especially in 4A. 1692 yds., 16 TDs, 8 ypc. He should be a Mr. Football Finalist, if not Mr. Football for the backs.
  4. Very Beatable by who? Surely not a Region 6 team! They went 0 - 4 in the first round of the playoffs last year to Region 5! Take off the region 6-colored glasses and open your eyes to some real 4a football!
  5. What do you mean "shake down". Who's gonna surprise who? Get real, Tullahoma is the only school outside of Metro Nashviile that even has a shot at competing for a playoff spot! Don't give me any crap about Shelbyville, Hickman Co., or Lawrence County, they have no athletes!
  6. Most of the teams will probably start spring practice May 1st. The Metro Schools, (Hillsboro, Maplewood, Stratford, and White's Creek), can not begin until that time. Yeah, the same four teams will be on top of the Region and into the playoffs, but the order of finish will be a little different. Don't be surprised if the standings look like this at the end of the regular season: 1. Maplewood 2. Hillsboro 3. Tullahoma 4. White's Creek
  7. Thomas Majors - LB - Maplewood Sadaris Jones - LB - Maplewood The best linebacker tandem in the state Dominique Howard - SS/CB - Maplewood - All-City/ All-Region 5-4a/ Y-107 all midstate team, 6 ints(1 for TD) and he'll only be a junior this year!
  8. From Maplewood High School: Thomas Majors - LB - 6'2" - 220 lbs. - 2005 All-City Honorable Mention Sadaris Jones - SS/LB - 6'0" - 190 lbs. - 2005 All-City Honorable Mention Terrence Holt - RB - 5'8" - 175 lbs. - 2005 All-City; Region 5-4a Off. MVP 382 yards vs Tullahoma (2nd highest single game rushing total in state history!)
  9. Football coaches are "asked" to be the bell-cow for the entire athletic program in order to fund the non-revenue-producing sports. In most cases, the school uses the funds raised through the Football Program to fund in-part or entirely, general school ventures. Not to mention the countless hours of "off-season" preparations to continue the success of the program and the many other things like: transporting kids home from practice, making sure they're making the grades to be eligible, monitoring kids' discipline, trying to get athletes into college, the list goes on and on. Plus, how do you put a price on time spent away from family? During Football Season you leave in the morning before the family is awake, when its dark outside, and return after the family is asleep. Week after week after week. $100,000.00, yeah, a good, caring, & motivated Head COACH is worth every penny!
  10. Thomas Majors - Maplewood - 6'2", 220 lbs., LB/FB Sadaris Jones - Maplewood - 6'0", 190 lbs., LB/SS Both are being courted by Tennessee and a host of other DI schools. They are physical and can RUN!! They, as well as All-Region 5-4a Offensive MVP and All-City Running Back Terrence Holt will be attending the Adidas Camp in Knoxville on April 9th.
  11. Who cares, you guys can't get out of the first round come playoff time anyway!
  12. Maplewood's Terrence Holt should be on that team. The Junior rushed for 1692 yds on 211 carries and 14 TDs, plus 4 TDs on kickoff and punt returns. He also had the state's third highest single game rushing total of 382 yards and 4 TDs vs. Tullahoma, (a Region 5-4a playoff team) at Tullahoma.
  13. Thanks for the congrats, but admit it. Who else has made Aydellott revert back to his bag of tricks and pull out stuff from two or three years ago because his stuff wasn't working. Plus the pass defense for Hillsboro is suspect, which is one of Tha Creeks strong points! I respect Aydellott, his staff, and his players, but they were concerned during the game that their state title hopes might come to and end!
  14. I don't know if anyone saw the Hillsboro/Maplewood game. Maplewood had Hillsbor on the ropes. If not for a few penalties at inopportune times, this weeks matchup would be Tha Creek vs. Tha Wood. If nothing else, Tha Wood gave other teams the blueprint to beat Hillsboro!
  15. Actually, the game is on Thursday at 5:00 at Tha Wood! Come see the future of Maplewood Football at its finest!!!
  16. Stratford: Jason Smith Tha Wood: Ralph Thompson
  17. After a pretty good onfield collision, the defensive player wanted to come out of the game and started to leave the field: Coach: What are you doing? Player: I'm seein' three of each of 'em coach. Coach: Just hit the one in the middle!!
  18. It's strictly business from here on out. The loss to McGavock has allowed the boys to get out of the limelight and refocus on their goals. The "undefeated" thing, though nice while it lasted, is no longer a burden. Peolple don't realize that they're tied for the region lead with White's Creek. That's cool though. It will allow for a stealth attack on the Region 5-4a title! Tha Wood GET USED TO IT!!
  19. That's part of the problem with inner-city programs, funding. Coach Thompson has been there four years trying to make a change with no support from the school. Fortunately, he now has an administrator in Mr. Darwin Mason who loves athletics and will support him. As a matter of fact, for the last three years they have been doin' it with no coach up top, no walkie-talkies or nothin'. It's a credit to Coach Thompson and his staff for coaching their butts off!
  20. titanfan05, go see Coach Thompson, he knows all!
  21. titanfan05, you know who this is. Watch yourself!
  22. Question: Who has McGavock played? Answer: NO ONE!! Wait until Friday!
  23. Are you serious! Tullahoma has a nice set of backers, but Thurman looked out of place when facing the speed of Maplewood as did the others. #44, the safety is an athlete, but after one guy goes for 382, admitting that you're an LB on that defense ain't wassup. The guys on the other side of the ball, Thomas Majors, Sadaris Jones, Nathaniel Young, and Dominique Howard, fast, versatile, and aggressive. Howard and Young moved out to cover Tullahoma's WRs.
  24. Patrick Johnson went to a prep school in North Carolina and was enrolled for nine days. when the program folded, he returned, bt due to TSSAA transfer rules he's ineligible. Before you even ask, he will be too old to play his senior year at Maplewood. He is currently trying to graduate on time with his class in hopes of pursuing his football career at the next level.
