QueenBee, the team plaques were presented to the head coaches while the players stood on respective baselines. Then the teams were thrown a garbage bag with T-shirts in them to disperse amidst the players. No MVP, no all-tourney selections and the tourney officials seemed to be in a hurry to get out of there. Other than that the tourney seemed to run well from the winners bracket perspective.

I wish Unicoi County good luck this next week but you don't have to worry about hitting "off speed" pitches. It's the 60+ mph pitcher which every team probably has that will give teams trouble. Several of them pitchers will have pinpoint control along with a wicked riseball(Rhodes). Small ball could be the rule of the week.

Lets go with the favorites and then maybe sleeper: D2-Favorite Baylor, sleeper Brentwood Aca. . A- Goodpasture sleeper Boyd Buchanon. AA- Lipscomb sleeper Lenoir City. AAA- Soddy Daisy sleeper Farragut.

Lenoir City is 28-10.

They did pitch to her but they pitched carefully. She was 2-3 with 2 singles and they walked her once. All year teams have pitched carefully to her but in all of my years watching baseball and softball (and thats alot) I don't recall anybody that is so patient and will not swing at a pitch out of the zone. She is gooooood!

Lenoir City goes back to state with an 8-0 win over the Cyclones. LC hit the ball well but received alot of help from Elizabethton (errors). Hicks let up 1 hit and had 15 strikeouts. Two outstanding plays by Vaughn at SS and Waller at CF. We didn't have any HR's but Hicks hit one off of the fence in the first inning to score what proved to be the winning run. "Betsy" played hard and showed good sportsmanship tonight and we thank them for that. MEMPHIS BOUND!

i have never seen unicoi co. play so it is hard to put a prediction on the game...they do seem to be on a mission though this year with some determination...on the other hand though one thing i have learned over the years is to never rule kingston out...they have won some games that have surprised and turned some people's heads. knowing girls from kingston and being in their district i will be pulling for kingston!!! good luck kingston!!! i look for this to be a real good game.

Region 2AA score Lenoir City 5 Kingston 2. We welcome the Cyclones down south here on Friday. It will be nice to play somebody else for a change since we have played Kingston 4 times in the last 12 days. Kingston will travel to Unicoi county on Friday. Do we have any predictions for these games?

Lenoir City-3 Alcoa-0. Alcoa 1 hit and LC had 3. Rumor has it that Kingston went up to Gibbs and beat them 5-3. Anyone know the facts?

I agree wholeheartedly TNT, J. Moore I believe could throw runners out from her knees. I have seen the catcher from UT play several times and my own personal view is that Moore is better. As far as Gibbs goes they will be in the hunt every year as long as Coach Mitchell is there. I just hope that we can get by Alcoa on monday to maybe play them on Wednesday. It's been good games for the past couple of years between Lenoir City and Gibbs.

GO MOTLOW STATE!!!! GOOD LUCK LADY BUCKS! I will be cheering for you. I will be playing in my own championship game on thursday since we beat Anderson Co. 8-4 today to advance to the championship. Keep it up ladies! I'm pullin for ya!

tough loss for Motlow but they can still play thru the losers bracket. Never say die! LC's first game tonight was against Kingston after a first round bye. We won 10-0. Tommee threw her first perfect game of the season but I'm just a proud dad.

An earned run is when a person gets on base and advances around the bases without the benefit of an error. I know my daughters ERA is higher than last years it went from 0.54 to 0.86. We also replaced all of last years A and AA competition with AAA compeitition and towards the end of the year i can see a real improvement in our teams play which is where a good ERA really comes from. Strikeouts are great but turning double plays and getting someone to pop a bunt up or getting a pop up when the batter needs a grounder is just as great.
