  1. Cumberland Co. has a long way to go. Just ask anyone who was them play in the playoffs. I guess that wake up call wasn't loud enough. 2 things: 1) Warren Co. beat Cumberland Co. 42-0 in 1990 Nurseryman's Bowl. 2) How funny is it that someone actually used "yuns"?!?!?!?
  2. If Van Buren Co. is the best this district has to offer, there are some problems. Just the other night, this team put out a pitiful effort and almost didn't score in the entire second quarter. Usually Friendship has a decent team, what's happened? Gordonsville, come on guys. I am not surprised that a couple of these rankings did not even include Boyd. Just think what might have been Broncos, three of your former students on AAA rosters. So, what does 20+ points per game in AAA translate into in A, 40-50? Just think.....
  3. Why are they suspended? Don't leave us hanging.
  4. Can anyone beat this team? They are absolutely loaded. Two guys well over 6'5" and good guard play. I just want to know if there are any other good freshman teams out there that can hang with these guys. Rumor is they will be split up for high school with a new school in the Boro.
  5. This is the reason Warren Co. sees Cookeville as their biggest rival. Cookeville people are the most arrogant, self-appreciating, condescending people in the world. Who would take offense to a comment about broken bleachers and suggest that visitors to their gym fix them themselves? I truly hope that all Warren County players and fans get up for this game. Any proud Pioneer knows you have to HATE Cookeville and hopefully our team will play like it Friday night. (heh, heh, 69 posts, is that good luck?) [Edited by rastabob on 12-12-02 8:07A]
  6. Gomab, Swader is making you look bad man. I don't know if it is because of his academic troubles and the fact that his scholarship is locked up, but he is tanking it. In a game against Warren Co. Friday night his box score will be misleading. I don't know exactly his point or rebound total, but it should have been higher. His talent is obvious, this guy is loaded. However, I must say I have never seen as much talent as this team has be so wasted. I really don't know that much about their coach, and I don't want to sound too negative, but Warren Co. had no business in this game, but Smyrna, and especially Swader, plays with no fire. Honestly, I was more impressed with Warner than Swader. Gomab, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, Randal Harrell, Reece Bishop, get them moving up!!!!
  7. Swader is very athletic and tall, as related to high school athletes. In college, the previous poster was exactly right, he won't be able to outjump everyone. When pressured outside the paint, he passes the ball EVERY time. I truly do not remember him taking a shot outside the paint all night. As for Warren Co., you have to finish guys. This was an opportunity to beat a VERY highly regarded team handily and you guys continually did not show the killer instinct. Reece Bishop stepped up at the end of the game. Randal Harrell seemed to disappear and allow Bishop to take control at the end of the game. Harrell (not even ranked, ahem Gomab) continually dominated the #1 ranked Swader outside of the paint all night. However, Randal you have to be the man when the game is on the line. Let's see that against Oakland. You wouldn't believe how many people are desperately wanting to see you with that killer instinct. You have the talent, just step up. p.s. to the FRB: pitiful showing on Saturday night. If you want to be considered one of the best student sections, you have to show up every night. Good job getting Swader's attention at the end, though.
  8. December 6, Warren Co. @ Oakland, if WC can beat them, do you promise to rank WC as high as Oakland.
  9. Exactly. We are visitors on this site, not the bosses. CoachT does everything for the site so that all can enjoy Tennessee High School Sports. We SHOULD NOT COMPLAIN!! Besides, use a different e-mail and make a new profile, DUH!! Also, bad grammar and language make you simply look stupid. Many times people have had good points but they are ignored because of the misspellings and grammar issues. If you want someone to pay attention to what you say, make it worth paying attention to. P.S. Gomab, did you hear about Reece Bishop's and Randal Harrell's games Tuesday? You know they are both going to move up your list.
  10. This has to stop. Threads about the "Front Row Bros" and predicting "a lose to Warren County" for Cookeville, and some player continually defending himself for getting kicked off of his team. These things belong on Yahoo Chat or Messenger, not this sight. Please stop.
  11. Greg, this is a sight for coaches and adults to track the high schools of Tennessee, not for students to get on here and tell how much they think their high schools will do. Please leave this kind of discussion for the lockers and the "Front Row" and leave this message board for people to discuss the players and how they perform.
  12. Warren Co. did look good last night. Reece did score a bunch. However, everything is not as it seems. Cannon Co. is very depleted. They were not the same team they were last year. 11 3's...live by the 3, die by the 3. Warren Co. cannot settle for 3s all night long. That well will go dry. Take it to the hole. Randal looked OK, but not great. Get tough, don't worry about the fouls, take it hard. And play some defense. Kyle Thompson is an undiscovered gem. Warren Co. has to use him more. Brooks Majors was a pleasant surprise. This kid will be very good eventually. Good luck Pioneers, just don't get a big head over defeating a team that simply wasn't that good. Get happy when you beat Oakland and Blackman.
  13. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! What goes around comes around. CC did you try any on-sides this game??? Told ya. You guys aren't ready for football outside of your region. [Edited by rastabob on 11-11-02 10:47A]
  14. old-all the AC/DC and G&R listed already, forgotten: We Will Rock You new-anything DMX or POD, Rollin' is old but still good.
  15. Wake up CC, your Cinderella story is over before it even began. What goes around comes around. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!
  16. I heard the same report. My question is: does Coach Tidwell realize the atmosphere around the team regarding him right now after he has been away? My impression is that no one surrounding the program really wants him back. The school board won't outright fire him and Tidwell doesn't realize how things are going. When I say no one wants him back, I mean no one IN the program, coaches, players, etc. The best possible outcome would be Tidwell simply resigning and the system begin looking for another coach right away.
  17. We've been telling you boys on the mountain that a wake-up call is coming. This game is just the beginning. Just ask the Cookeville boys who just beat, they used to play some of the Murfreesboro teams. You guys are simply a decent team in a horrible region. Enjoy the regular season because the playoffs will end QUICKLY. What goes around comes around.
  18. Good for you, keeping stats. The kick was intentionally kicked to the second row. That is simply another version of the traditional onside. Watch Alabama, others. They try this all the time. I was told before the game to watch out for onside kicks, they did 4 last week. This warning was not in vain. This is Cumberland's strategy, I understand that. Kicking onside up by 30 is WRONG!! There can be no other explanation. Yes, there weren't many passes in the second half. There didn't need to be after the Jets called timeout with less than a minute left in the first half. THEY RAN THE SCORE UP!! This cannot be denied. As for state champs... WAKE UP!!!! If the Jets think they have what it takes to beat the other teams in 5-A outside of Region 4, they need to wake up. There is no doubt in my mind this is the weakest 6-0 team in any division. The fourth place teams from other regions will beat this team in the first round of the playoffs. What goes around comes around. [Edited by rastabob on 10-5-02 7:51P]

    Freshman

Warren Co. is loaded with freshmen. Brooks Majors is a good point guard going through a hard time after being hit in the face pitching this summer. This kid was good enough to play for the varsity. Warren Swann is a 6'4" 3-man and can dunk, handle the ball, and shoot outside. Shay Glenn is the smartest player, not blessed with physical skills. And a surprise for Warren Co. fans: these guys have size... Swann and another guy about 6'4" Brandon Adcock. Two other guys inside over 6' benching over 200 lbs. Mikey Perkins and Isaac Slatton. 20. everyone wants to know: ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RETURNING????
  21. Well folks, everyone who hates on Pedro, complains about his presence no matter where he is, here's your chance. He has stepped out to coach again and now you can see if you are right. Me, I don't care who is coaching, I want to see the Pioneers win some games. I know playoff runs are so far out of the question it's not even funny, but two or three wins would be wonderful. Did Madewell have anything to do with Pedro stepping in? I know they are close, I just wonder if that was the chain there? Finally, pioneer95, will you please check your spelling and/or typing? Your lack of grammar skills and vocabulary is embarassing. If you don't want to do this, please change your screen name so no one will think our education system is faring as badly as our football team.
  22. Warren Co. has the best fans, the proof: they show up week in and week out to support a team on a 20-something game losing streak. It's easy to support winners, try supporting teams that don't win all the time.
  23. further evidence that hope springs eternal Hopefully Coach Madewell can inspire some life into this team. Two weeks ago, seniors were hanging their heads in the second quarter, down two touchdowns. Come on boys, show some backbone, don't let these teams roll over you and laugh at you. They are right now. If you are ever going to get fired up about a team, it's Cookeville!!!!! You aren't a Pioneer if you don't hate Cookeville and live to beat them every chance you get. Come on boys, show Coach Madewell and Warren Co. that you aren't gutless and that you can fight. Don't give up until the final horn sounds and hit until the whistle has stopped blowing!!!
  24. Tidwell was arrested on the 16th on charges for assault stemming from the helmet-throwing incident. Can the pioneers sink any lower?
  25. Okay, I know a lot of you in Warren Co. love hearing my opinions and it has been a while. However, this situation deserves some attention. First of all, I know Coach Tidwell did not MEAN to hit the player. What coaches, teachers, administrators, everyone must act by is reasonable prudence. Throwing a helmet in Shelbyville's visitor locker room crowded with large players is not prudent. Before someone acts, they must consider all possibilities of their action. The fact that one is about to launch a large, hard projectile in a crowded room is the first problem. The fact that a player was hit is the second. The player being hit is the reason we are all discussing this situation. If anyone has seen the player, they will realize this is not simply a bump on the head. As one person who was in the room said, "He knocked the S*** out of him" An apology simply doesn't cut it. As to the discussion that there are different standards for coaches and teachers, that is obvious to anyone involved in education. However, those standards should be similar. Let's turn this down a little to fit the classroom. If a teacher wasn't happy with a class's standardized test scores (and yes, some jobs may begin to ride on them), and threw a book across the room and inadvertantly struck a student on the arm. No need for the emergency room or stitches, just hit their arm. This would lead to a lawsuit and probably employment problems. (T.C. waking up, for all of you Warren Co. people) Now add a helmet, 10 stitches, a locker room, and a coach and you get our situation. One week is not enough. Now for all of the football people. I don't know about you guys, but I was taught to respect my helmet. If a player had done this on the teams I played on, they would have been suspended for a week even if it didn't hit another player, permanently if it did. This is not leadership. Also, for any of you complaining about the "gutless" comments, you must have never been in a locker room. I do feel for Coach Tidwell. He did enter a VERY difficult situation. He did instill some pride and determination in a team that sorely needed it. He will have a very tough time living this one down, in Warren Co. or anywhere else. I don't have all the answers as to what to do to him, but I do know that his players may play for him or "stand behind him", but I doubt they will ever trust him again.
