  1. Because of a tech, he wasn't able to talk to his team during time-outs? That must be some kind of new rule. Phil, you saw Tyler play one game! Watch him, and his forklift bring UT out of the NCAA boiler room next year, and we'll see whether or not he can shoot! Of course with C-Loft back next year, he'll be able to slash and do what he likes to do best! Forget individual effort, Giles was able to get the win because the role players stepped up! I guess we'll see you guys in... oh... I mean, at home! LEBRON WHO?
  2. King Rex (Wow! That's a heck of an ego you have there!), Tyler does not only play in Pulaski! He goes to the most elite camps, and plays for NATIONAL championships on his AAU team, year round. I, personally, would take him over sun drop anyday! He was Co-MVP at ADIDAS camp in Atlanta this past summer! I don't think he really cares about any of the players that you mentioned, because he is making his own name in the present, and not worried about whom he is better or not better than! As for the "LEBRON WHO?" at the end of my posts, it is not a comparison to T. Smith. I just am not a big fan of "The Next Jordan"! That's all! OK, I also enjoy p-ing people, like you, off with it (believe me, catfish hates it!). Also, you sound like a rapper with the "I'M OUT" at the end your posts! Keep that going, because it really works for you! LEBRON WHO?
  3. Say what you will Big Cat, but the fact is, your team is sitting at home, and your only other 10AA hope got beat tonight, and will be on the road to face the best team in AA basketball! End of story! I mean, why make excuses when you win? I think you put it best when you predicted Wavo to lose to Bolivar and Giles to proceed to Murfreesboro! There's no need in saying anything else if you've just beaten a team that was supposed to pull a miracle win out of a hat tonight, and now everyone forecasts you making a state tournament appearance. I do like the fact that Giles County was able to win with a team effort tonight. It proves that Tyler can have a below average night, and his team still finds a way to win; the one thing that everyone said Giles was incapable of doing. Everyone likes to talk about the state championship team where it seemed that a player would step up every night, and I feel like that's what happened here.Props to the role players! Tyler has proven that he can step up when he needs to, and he will! I most certainly will not give props to a team that talked as much trash as Wavo did, and then didn't back it up with a win! Second is the first loser, as will be proven Monday night. By the way afan, I believe Giles covered the spread, YET AGAIN! I think we could settle up with a trip to the store! I mean, it is my birthday! LEBRON WHO?
  4. Maybe rocko (or whatever his name is) can borrow that fork lift, because that's what it's going to take to get him over the trees, down low, tomorrow night! Catfish, I thought you were done posting, anyway. Did anyone notice that, once again, he had to resort to talking about football? I guess that's what happens when your dog bows out of the fight early, huh Big Cat! After tonight's slaughter, I just don't see this one being as close as you Wavos are dreaming about! afan, Tyler doesn't need to be given any easy dunks tomorrow night! I think he's proven that he has no problem going up and over people also! Giles by 15+ (even though I think it will be more). TOW-MOTOR ME!! LEBRON WHO?
  5. Actually, Slube, "The Murray State Phenom" was the one getting dunked on in the region tournament, after several predictions had been made that T. Smith would meet his match in Dansby. That obviously didn't happen! I have the tape if you'd like to watch with a friend! LEBRON WHO!
  6. Does anyone else think that Lewis and Waverly will be the best game of the region. And what are predictions?? I could care less who wins but I say Wavo by 5. By WC04, and oh GC by 10+ every game of region tourney.
  7. The way I hear it, catfish's omniscent knowledge of the region shined brightly tonight after Lewis Co. beat his boys from Sycamore! What list was that they were about to join?? You just don't know which side of the fence you want to be on; Do you Big Cat? It's amazing how every time someone makes a good point, you have to revert to talking about football. Get on the football board and bash Giles Co. all you want, but we're on the basketball board, and the only helmet to be worn in Franklin this week will be on the head of wneely!! GCfan is right, respect has to be earned, and you will be shown none until you do so. I, too, hope that Giles completely unleashes on these next two teams! In the end, however, your team will be watching from the stands tomorrow night! Now let me guess! You're about to jump on the Wavo bandwagon! Well jump on it, but bring your suit case, because it's a long ride to Bolivar, and an even longer ride back! That is, if Lewis Co. doesn't hand them ANOTHER loss. LEBRON WHO?
  8. statebound, that may be the most retarted post that I've ever read! I don't really care about Lewis, Waverly, Harpeth, or Sycamore, because it doesn't matter who Giles faces on Thursday, as afan will tell you, they are going to win by 10+! A pet turtle? I mean, if you're going to talk trash to me, at least make it decent! Every year you 10AA guys talk about the same upsets and the same "so and so is going to dominate T. Smith"! Until you prove it, I'm going to keep calling your bluff. You fellas can keep talking, because after Thursday one of you is going to be walking... all the way to Bolivar! LEBRON WHO?
  9. Your boys better take care of Lewis County, before you start counting your chickens. If I remember correctly, Paco (or whatever his name is) and the Tigers had a little trouble with them in the regular season. Lets just hope that they don't hit that same little bump in the road Wednesday! Whether or not I will be at the game on Thursday is undecided, as of now. If I'm there or if I'm not, don't worry, I'll still be collecting my money! LEBRON WHO?
  10. I wouldn't call it concieted. I'd just call it stating a fact. LEBRON WHO?
  11. afan, after all the trash you've talked for the last week, I'd rather see Page win this tournament! You don't get love until you earn love! By the way, you can make that check payable to the: I Never Should've Bet Against One Of The Top 40 Players In The Nation Fund! LEBRON WHO?
  12. What's the final stats and score there afan??? I hear it took Giles a half to warm up but when they did it was nasty. Giles by 10+ every game. WC04
  13. LCHS, has anyone ever told you that you might be dyslexic? Just wondering? LEBRON WHO?
  14. Actually, puddin' head, I don't think hercules was comparing Wright to Shaq, but rather that Brandan is not ready to play with the caliber of players that are in the NBA, nor is he strong enough! I do, however, believe that if Wright decides to forego college for the pros, that he will become "one of those players" that you mentioned! As a fan, I would be just as excited as the next guy about seeing him be a lottery pick, but, money aside, I don't see how he could possibly be successful at his size! Put him in the weight room and on the court with some men his size for a couple of years, and I think we could compare him to the Tim Duncan's of the world! You guys act like he isn't going to make any money if decides to go to college for a few years! Remember, he and his friend Tyler Smith are going to be making more money than most will ever dream about! Give them a chance to be as good as they can possibly be before they make that big transition! LEBRON WHO?
  15. I, too, would like to know if JP and/or Jamont were selected! I'd also like to know where all of you haters who said T. Smith wasn't going to be going to South Bend are! You guys weRe pretty quick to talk earlier. Just wondering where you are now! LEBRON WHO?
  16. Tyler Smith recieved a plaque, before the game tonight, announcing that he had been chosen to play in the McDonald's All-American game! His jersey was also retired to the rafters. I'm sure wneely will be able to give a few more details. I think this just caps off a high school career that many tried to say he was not good enough to have! Speaking of, where are all those guys that said he wouldn't be selected?? I'm going to try to make it to south bend to take in the festivities. Hopefully Tyler will showcase his jumping ability in front of a national audience in the dunk contest! I have a feeling that not many will be able to hop with him! Congratulations T. Smith! LEBRON WHO?
  17. Exactly GCHS05, the Dukes and North Carolinas of the world weren't big until a few exceptional athletes decided to go there. With Tyler going to UT, the Vols gain a ton of recruiting power! He has gone into this year with the mind set of building his team around him! Read the interviews. He constantly says, "I'm still working on Jamont, Willie Kemp, and (the guy from Leeds that I can't think of his name)." With as much in-state talent as there is this year (and for the next several years), Tennessee could build a pretty incredible program! As for Tyler getting national attention, if you're good enough the scouts and media will find you! Steve McNair played at Alcorn State. Several NBA players come from prep schools because their grades aren't good enough to even go to college! Attention won't be Tyler's problem, at all! I, personally, can't wait to have a better reason to go to Thompson Boling than watching Brittany Jackson! LEBRON WHO?
  18. If Wright is going to the NBA, he better go to the Jose Canseco school of getting big in a hurry! He isn't even big enough to hold down a certain Tennessee signee, much less the big men of the NBA! He's an incredible player, but a year or two of college will definitely make him smarter, stronger, and a better overall player. Word has it that Tyler will be attending classes and beginning workouts, here in Knoxville, this summer, as Buzz will be sticking around for another season. A possible lineup of T. Smith, Jamont Gordon, and Willie Kemp for the Vols would be a lot of fun to watch! Both of these player have a lot to work on, and going to college would help both of them live up to their full potential. LEBRON WHO?
  19. I wasn't aware that there was high school basketball in the fall MCHS. Is this something new, or am I in the wrong forum again? This is the Basketball forum isn't it? LEBRON WHO?
  20. Actually cheesy, Tyler has never dropped lower than than 70 on Rivals, which hasn't been updated in quite some time. I don't really think that the selection comittee who decides who plays in the game pays a lot of attention to Rivals, anyway. In recent magazines, I've seen him ranked as high as 21 in the country! I can't speak for the Delks, but I know that they've consistantly been ranked lower than Tyler. I definitely see the Birdman in the McDonald's game, especially since Corey Brewer was in it. I've always thought that Tyler was far better than the past players that I've seen compete in the dunk competition! With as much national attention he's gotten in the last two years, it'll be hard not to let him play! LEBRON WHO?
  21. Get off before you're running triangles! Just a word of advice.
  22. That's exactly who I was talking about! He heated up a few weeks ago, and Giles was winning by 20 and 30 points every night! If he can get hot again over the next few weeks then I see Giles staring down another ring. If he can't get it done, one of the younger players (Z Roberts or Tryce) is going to have to step their game up a notch for Giles to have a chance. Tyler can score 50 points a game, but if the next highest scorer is in single digits (which has been the case this season) it becomes pretty tough to win. I guess we'll have to see who's going to step up this year. Do we not seem to have the same "Who's going to step up?" conversation every year at this time? LEBRON WHO?
  23. Agreed, they do have talent, but most sophomores aren't ready to play in a sub-state game against a Bolivar or a Raleigh Egypt. The only player that I can see playing well in this situation is Trice Nelson, who has played well this season. Other than that, the players that have been playing are the ones that need to be out there. Although it is an extremely short bench, the entire team can run and gun for an entire game. My main concern is that other players look to get open and take shots, rather than freezing up and trying to get it to down low to Tyler for the whole game. This is what happened against Columbia, and we saw what happened. Channing and Tyler are going to score their points, but some major help is going to be needed from the guards in order to do big things!! LEBRON WHO?
  24. I would be much more amused by SportsNation's list of players, from West TN, that are better than T. Smith, whom, apparently is just "good"! LEBRON WHO?
