I think this is how it will play out, but it seems every year one team will really surprise in the standings. 1. Blackman 2. Cookeville 3. Siegel 4. Riverdale 5. Lebanon 6. Oakland 7. White County 8. Warren County Let the fun begin!
  2. If you read my post I never said Kat worked harder than every player in TN. I said she works harder than "any player I have ever been around." Please get your facts correct before you start bashing what I said. I never downgraded other players at LA - all I stated was concerning Kat and how hard she works. I can't comment on if Kat works harder than any other player in TN (I don't know all the players in TN - duh?), but all I do know is she puts a lot of time and effort in improving her skills. I know there are many wonderful players in TN and the points you and a few others stated about opportunity, $, etc. are right on the mark. I do know her parents are very supportive of her soccer schedule - which I know is a major factor for her continuing her future in soccer. I hope more players from TN can make it to the Regional and National team level.
  3. I never said only one player can do it all - all I meant was LA would not be the team they are if Kat didn't play for LA. I am not downgrading other LA players, because I know that small rural counties have it tough when trying to compete against schools with more students with soccer experience. Facts are facts - Kat has worked harder on her skills than any player I have ever been around - period. By the way if you want to know where Kat learned a lot of her skills - it is a man named AR Richardson - even those amazing chips mentioned earlier. Kat would be the first person to give him the credit for what she knows. All she did was put in endless hours of practice during her sessions with AR over the last 4 years. I am proud of Kat for making the U15 National team as a representative of TN.
  4. I finally read all the posts for this topic. I love soccer (coached hs for 18 seasons) and football, but let us get real concerning the issue. Girls soccer will never get out from the shadow of football - soccer is viewed by those ignorant of the "beautiful game" as a foreign sport. Even though this is stupid, it is true. Concerning the "football field" belief - for most schools in the state the sport of soccer (particularly girls) wasn't even a high school sport when most stadiums were built, so you are fighting that "football" is the ONLY sport mentality and should be the ONLY sport that ever plays on the "football" field. If a football team raised money to build the stadium, then they should be the only ones to play on it. I would venture to say almost no school has done that in the entire state, but I don't know that answer. It was paid for by taxpayer money; therefore it should be used by all sports. Get out of the dark ages pedo_29 and step into the 21st century. I am curious pedo_29 - are you married and do you have any daughters? If yes to the daughter question, then would you feel differently if your daughter wanted to play soccer? If you answered no to the previous question, then would it be mandatory for her to be a football cheerleader, so she could "use" the facilities. Sorry for the harshness, but it chaps my hide when football supporters always think they are the ultimate sport. They may attract more fans, but maybe the rest of the world has it right and we in America are backwards - we even named the sport wrong - it should have been called "carryball"!
  5. Sorry, I better check my sources next time. The person told me that one of the refs let the game get pretty physical, but I will try to find out exactly what happened. There is a referee that does a lot of WC games (short, older gentleman, balding) - he lets the games get way to physical for safety issues. This I do know from my own experience.
  6. I don't know about the Ooltewah game, but Tullahoma is down this year. The Warren County game was evidently an extemely rough and low handed game. I was told Warren County played dirty and sent off 4 or 5 Cumberland County players for injuries. I wasn't at the game, but I know the refs let it go so players react to that and push until the refs do make the calls. This is a common occurence with Warren Co. refs - they just don't call fouls when there are fouls and the game gets out of hand. I am still trying to find out the severity of the injuries to CC players.
  7. Kat is an awesome soccer talent and an even better person. I am exceptionally proud of her and I have always believed she would be exactly where she is right now as a US National Team member. She has been working with AlanRobert (A.R.) Richardson from White County for the past 3 - 4 years on various aspects of her game. He is the best I have ever been around for learning the skill set needed to become a top player and he has the patience that won't end. Too bad the girl players at White County have never fully commited to training with AR, since he is in their county. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. I know the coach that stepped down this past season has told me before he continually tried to get the girl players to train with AR, but only one or two would periodically work with AR during the off-season or even during season. They never would commit as a team to getting better. Congratulations to Kat for all of her success! This is the reward of what talent+determination+hard work+great coaching (AR, not the LA coach) yields ----- success.
  8. This Brenda may have man marked Kat, but I can guarantee you if Livingston had better players to compilment Kat's skills, then it would have been a different game. Kat is LA soccer!
  9. I saw Cookeville play against Baylor earlier this week and they looked pretty weak - especially on defense. The right side defender was not a strong player. I do realize they are a young team and they lost some great senior players from last year's team.

  11. As I said in my last post about Boyd "Christian," it sounds like there aren't any leaders or Christian players on the team. I know that isn't the case, but your team sure isn't helping the situation or reputation. I have seen too many posts from different teams and players concerning their attitude on the field. It is a sad situation when a "Christian" school acts worse than a secular school. I think F. C. Boyd, Sr. would be very embarrassed about the reputation the boy's soccer team is getting. I have played soccer longer than many of you have been alive (and just as aggresive on the field if not more), and I have never retaliated on or of the field against another player. I may have wanted to punch someone, but I knew the consequences of my actions were going to be kicked off the team. I therefore chose to refrain from those types of incidents. Clean it up! Play hard with determination, but play with class!
  12. What happened Blue54? I guess you were distracted by some other people! Good job Boyd on your 0 - 0 tie at LA. I hope you beat them next time!
  13. It is a sad situation when a Christian school acts worse than about every team in the state (parents included). These players and parents are what give Christians a bad name! I wonder what F. C. Boyd, Sr. would say about the quality of students on the soccer field. I don't think he would be real happy!!!! "Christian" or not there is not a place on the field for dirty play or profane language. Teams that can succeed at a high level and keep themselves under control have my highest respect. Clean it up F. C. Boyd, Sr. "Christian" School!
  14. Without a doubt Farragut and Bearden are the top AAA teams in the state, but Ridgeway (A-AA) and CBHS are excellent teams with a smaller player base to choose from. I believe any of these four could compete with the best in Georgia. In regards to comparing scores here is an example of why you really can't do it consistently. Wilson Central defeated Middle TN Christian 7 - 3 Middle TN Christian defeated White County 3 - 2 Wilson Central should beat White County by approximately 5 goals! White County defeated Wilson Central 5 - 2 on Tuesday, April 22. Whatever the case is with Farragut and Parkview it would be the game of the spring season!
