I won't be going this week. I'm traveling down to Pickett County on Friday night to watch my son help coach the Unaka girls team in that tournament. On Saturday I'm taking my wife and other son to the UT / Kentucky game to fulfill a promise. On Saturday night I'll be in the office laying out the sports page for Sunday's paper. We'll do some Christmas shopping on Friday. Trying to stay out of the "Doghouse" although that's a good place to be this Friday. Hopefully Wes can send me a great story about a huge Bulldog win and the C-Team man can shoot some good pictures to which we can give Wes credit for. I'm assuming Hampton hoops will shutdown after Thursday until further notice? Good Luck. I'd love to see another gold ball in that old trophy case.

Sportiemom, He's a great guy. Next year they can ride down with us when we make the trip. It will happen soon! From what I'm hearing, we could be getting "2" impact players at the break.

No, I will be in Mtn.City covering the Hall of Fame basketball games. I wish my old school the best of luck. I was a baller at one time, back when leather helmet and no face masks were in style. They compared me to 7-up, never had it and never will! Have a safe trip and again best of luck

Curiosity killed the cat and overconfidence might be Hampton's down fall. Tim's Prediction: Harriman 28, Hampton 21 (Could change before Friday, depending on the weather!) "Might" meaning "possibility" Bulldog2000. I won't get on here and pour gas on the fire but a conversation I overheard while eating at a local restaurant on Saturday night was indication they might be looking at week three. I hope they'll look at my prediction, get refocused and make me eat crow this week. I have until tonight to change my prediction. I wish nothing but the best for Hampton. I hope you guys end up in Murfreesboro.

Should Hampton win, they will be on the road regardless of who wins the Coalfield/Midway contest. After the second round, it's rotated on a year-to-year basis. Last season Hampton got to play Coalfield and Trousdale Co. at home. Hope this helps. If Harriman wins and Midway wins the game will be at Harriman. Should Harriman win and Coalfield win, the game is at Coalfield, Best of Luck to Hampton and a speedy recovery to Adam. Tim

Funny! hahaha My Coach T status is reader only but couldn't help but comment on this one. This is why I love the people in Roan Mountain. They have great fans who love football. Cloudland will be fine. They have some great talent in the sophomore and freshman class and the eighth grade team did very well. The return of Jordan Hughes will make them a contender next season. I'm old school so they would probably run me off after two weeks. Could Cobby Marlow and Pujo be two of my assistants?

You'll see two good fights on Friday night. First I want to start out with the "King" and work my way down to Jo Jo Sluder. I still owe him for running me through a fence on the sideline many moons ago. Ha Ha Ha Shucks, I love the kids at both these schools. Best of luck to all. Just have the coffee hot and ready. I reason I don't have the Elizabethton beat this year is the food was too good up on the pressbox. I was afraid of getting fatter. These teams are like arms and legs. Every paper has one and most are loaded from top to bottom with locals, just like the two listed.

NCAA Divison II at best. Very solid basketball player

It would have been hard not to have won with the talent that Union City put out on the floor. And although the Coach did a good job, this was a Class AA team that reaped the rewards of being reclassed back down to Class A. A team that could passed through the press and took care of the basketball would have given them trouble but nobody fit that style in the tournament. Hat off to the Tornadoes for a job well done.
