  1. Okay, I can't resist this one. I am a former student athlete and graduate of UT Martin, so this hits close to home. Why would you ever encourage an athlete to "run" from a potential college scholarship? That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. UT Martin is a quality school with a quality athletic department. Who cares why UTM went into the OVC? Whether it was for basketball or any other sport doesn't matter. What matters is, it was for growth. When a school reaches a certain point, the only way to go is up. If that school chooses not to go up, guess where they go? DOWN! UT Martin has made great strides toward achieving the goals that the athletic department has set. To all potential college student athletes: Don't ever turn down an invitation to visit a college or speak to a coach, especially not for the reasons given by the person on this thread that feels it is their responsibility to run athletes away from UT Martin. College athletics is the best experience of my college life, and is probably the best experience of most other student athlete's college lives. Not a day goes by that I don't think about or talk about an experience from my life as a student athlete. Don't miss out on that opportunity just because some random person says to. 2. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Allen family and Cascade High School, Eagleville High School.
  3. The fact that Page has beaten Bud 2 out of the last 3 times is not nearly as large an accomplishment as Bud beating Page once. Bud should be recognized as one of the best pitchers in 1A baseball in Tennessee because he is a great pitcher and a great person. Who cares what Page has done against him? That was just one game.
  4. Two words ... Bud Miller (Eagleville). Anybody in district 11a can vouch for that.

    best field

Okay, bigfrase, so you've played kickball on it. So how does that make you an expert on "baseball" fields? I'm sure it's a nice field, but who really cares what a "kickball" player has to say about it? Can someone who plays BASEBALL on this field please describe it? (by the way, I'll probably never be on the Farragut field, I just couldn't let the kickball comment go unanswered. ) [Edited by underpar68 on 4-28-03 12:34P]
  6. Everything you said is right except that Eagleville may not be #3. If everything works out right, Cornersville could be #3. Let's say Forrest, Richland, and Cornersville win. Okay, Cornersville and Eagleville would have the same record. The tie-break for third would have to go to Forrest or Richland, but Eagleville split with Richland, but was swept by Forrest. Well, Cornersville was swept by Richland, but split with Forrest. This forces the tie-break to Cascade who was swept by Cornersville, but split with Eagleville, thus Cornersville would be #3, making Richland #1 and Forrest #2. Whew, I'm dizzy.
  7. You can't have the pairings right yet, because there are three more games, one today and two tomorrow, that have to be played. Your pairings could be right, but they could likely be wrong. The 1-7 seeds could change. Only the 8 and 9 seeds are solid. We'll all know tomorrow about 5:00. [Edited by underpar68 on 4-28-03 11:05A]
  8. Actually, a win against Moore County today does not clinch the district 11a regular season title for Forrest. Ask coach Hardison to explain it to you. It was a little confusing when I heard it, but I know the Cornersville/Huntland game and the Richland/Cascade game both have bearing on who clinches the regular season title. Good luck to all of the teams in the 11a tournament. [Edited by underpar68 on 4-28-03 10:59A]
  9. I'll be there! If you need anything, let me know. Everybody playing in the Central Middle School Golf Scramble, look out! Underpar68 is coming! I hope I can get a couple of ringers.
  10. Walker Valley - first place - 5-0 Eagleville - second place - 3-2 Lenoir City, McMinn Central - third place - 2-2 Sweetwater - fifth place - 1-3 Harriman - sixth place - 0-4 The championship game was played between Walker Valley and Eagleville Saturday night at 8:15. Walker Valley won 10-7. Walker Valley is a really good team, as was Lenoir City, but McMinn, Harriman, and Sweetwater struggled. It was a really nice field to play on. It was a great tournament, and the coaches at Lenoir City High School should be commended for their efforts.
  11. Congrats Coach Lynch!!! Good luck this season. I hope you don't give up baseball. Have a great season next year! Good luck in the post-season this year in baseball!
