no not taking a shot. did you hear how CA's Jamboree went last week? Pretty pathetic to say the least. Thus the reason why i said they could easily drop to last.

I must say very nice post and that is not sarcasm. But my whole point to mentioning about the spitting incident holds true based on what you said, "Plus I am glad Montgomery County released Todd, because if it were not for the Bradley lie, Todd would not have 3 rings to sport." So basically from what I take away from that statement is that Montgomery County School will not allow him to coach in a Montg. Co. School correct? Believe me growing up I had my share of things that were said, done to me ect growing up while playing sports and not one time would my father or mother for that matter ever gone to a coach and complained about something the coach had done or said. But then again alot has changed over the last 30 years or so. I can say this.....I have had a Coach do worse things than to spit in my face that is for sure as I am sure many of us that are of the "older" generation have experienced. heck now-a-days you can't even look at a kid funny without someone complaining. Now, if Coach Hood did not do what was accused great. Honestly I have never met the man and only know what i hear and what I have read in the past.

Thank you for clarifying that HTV. And no I have not met Coach Hood. So you know someone standing right by the "group" when he spit into a player's face? That would be hearsay I do believe. You say that player was mad because he wasn't starting? Unless you are that player or that players parents then I guess that would be hearsay as well. Are you actually telling me Coach Hood is NOT banned from COACHING in Montgomery County Schools? Seriously? Because that is not what I have been told from some higher ups from some on the Montgomery County School Board system.

well I know several people over at the Academy and I have honestly never coached anything other than summer baseball and fall basketball in Jr Pro leagues. I am not a teacher nor am I a paid Coach of anything nor have I ever been. I have seen a few CA football games over the years as well as basketball games. And I have not lived in Clarksville in almost 30 years. So yea I can say for sure that I am NOT Coach Shephard. I do however have many friends in Clarksville and even some of them have kids that attend CA. And things are not right at CA at the top.

Just so I can make something clear......I am NOT Coach Shephard. Period and if you think I am you my friend are a joke. I DO NOT live in Clarksville. And there are some on here that can attest to that. Also there are several schools with the Red Devil name outside of Knoxville. For instance......Jo Byrns. So, maybe I am closer than you think but then again maybe not. Since when does someone's son have anything to do with one's coaching abilities? I have bashed Shephard on here before so don't think I wouldn't do it again but this whole situation that the HEAD Lady leading the Academy has brought up is pathetic. Mainly using the restaurant Shephard owns as an excuse to not "re-new" one's contract. Yes Kay that is pathetic. If you want a conflict of interest try this on for size.........You have a teacher at the Academy whose Husband is the Chairman of the Board. Now that IS a conflict of interest. That same Chairman of the Board is also the one who talked about picking a fight with one of Shephard's son. Not sure which one as I don't know how many sons he has. So go down to F&M Bank and ask him yourself and see if it is true or not. Now the funny part is......nobody has mentioned anything about the illegal practice that took place the day after Shephard's contract was not re-newed. Nor have they mentioned how it was said that the CA Boss interviewed several candidates in the search for a new coach. Well somebody give us all some insight on who those "Several" coaches are.

He will still be in coaching as he is just mulling over the offers that have been coming in since the story came out in the local paper last week. Rumor has it he had to call Verizon and get extra minutes added to his package

I find it hard to believe that the thing about him spitting in a kid's face is false. If it were not true then he wouldn't be banned from getting a coaching or teaching position in Montgomery County Schools. So take that BS somewhere else. I also know for a fact that he held practice at Barksdale the Saturday after Shephard was let go. So how does the Head of the School sit there and tell the Leaf Chronicle that she interviewed several Candidates after she had told Shephard his contract would not be renewed. Lemme break down this timeline for ya and tell me if it makes sense. May 14th (Friday).......Dean of School (Kay Drew) and the Chairman of the Board notifies Shephard in a metting at the school that his contract was not being renewed and that the members of the Board did not know anything yet as far as this was concerned. May 15th (Saturday).......Hood is seen by many at Barksdale Elementary holding practice with CA football players. Illegal May 18th (Tuesday) This is when the Leaf Chronicle put in the local paper about the Non Renewed Contract as they were asked to not print anything until Shephard Had time to meet and notify the players of him not returning. May 24th Kay Drew tells the Leaf Chronicle that she interviewed several candidates for the job and has decided to hire Hood. And she even talks in the article of the Leaf Chronicle that Hood has never held any practices and has no clue where something like that has come from. Does she really think that the fine people of Clarksville are that friggin' stupid? Are you really announcing a head coach and in the same story trying to sit there and say he hasn't held any illegal practices? The TSSAA will be looking into this situation I am quite sure. And she better be batting her lashes harder than ever to get out of this mess that she caused. It is also my understanding that the Chairman of the Board at CA has never liked Coach Shephard and I finally found out why. He got into a fight long ago back in college with one of Shephard's sons and got his ARSE whipped at a party.

Well a coach has been named at Clarksville Academy but the Head Boss over there is mad at the Leaf Chronicle for printing the truth last week about Shephard. So, she is refusing to tell the Leaf Chronicle who it is as she doesn't want them to print something that will make her look bad and have everybody in Clarksville batting their eyelids. Now when the story does get out someone please give a detailed background of this "Coach" as Inquiring Minds would like to know his coaching background. Places he has been a head Coach and also an Assistant? Record as a Head Coach? And anything else that anybody can think of.

From what I have heard he will be coaching don't worry. The interesting part is who is CA gonna hire? Who are the candidates being talked about? What is their background? Inquiring minds wanna know

HTV, I think you probably remember me and I can honestly tell you there is no truth to Shephard coming back to Halls. Not that it has anything to do with Halls but everything to do with the family restaurant and also his father living in Clarksville. I am sure some would love to see this happen and I am quite sure others are praying that it doesn't happen. But, it won't happen so no worries as this is just someone trying to stir things up about Halls, Coach Julian and Teddy W. People need to either get behind the ENTIRE current staff at Halls OR choose another school to root for. Period

Last time I checked the rims were the same height and the floor is the same length along with the ball being the same size.... So what the heck difference does it make if they played in morning....afternoon or nighttime????

I have an idea.................... How about letting the COACHES do what they are PAID to do and everyone else STFU and let them coach and the players learn. Now, that is something that Halls could use as a change since everyone and their brother thinks they know more than the coaching staff's at Halls over the last 16+ years.

zcar, we have to be patient as that time will come again sooner rather than later. There are some good athletes here at Halls and this program is getting better by the day. This has been a rough season and it is mostly due to injuries and health issues. There is no reason to think that Halls can't run the table the rest of the way and make it to the playoffs. And we all know anything can happen in the playoffs. Halls fans need to get off the fence and quit acting like they know everything that should be done and start supporting this team and coaching staff. GO BIG RED!!!!

devilsden, You have made me shake the cobwebs from my head on this one. I don't remember Kerr's record since it was way past my time BUT Sheppard's record, if my memory serves me correctly, was 33-12 after his first 4 years at Halls. Now, as far as Coach Julian calling the offense....when has he ever called the offensive plays? To my knowledge since he came to Halls he has been the Defensive Co-Ordinator. That would almost be like saying that John Chavis needs to call the offensive plays at UT this weekend. Coach Julian is a very good defensive coach and that is what he calls and has called for many years. Williams' play calling is not the problem just as Clawson's playcalling is not UT's problems. Health and Injuries has been the problem this year and you can't coach that no matter who you are.

It would not surprise me if CA went 6-4 or possibly even 7-3 and be in the hunt for the 4th spot. Not saying it will happen but it wouldn't surprise me. They have gotten better each of the last 3 years. The QB is only going to be a Junior and started 5 games as an 8th grader. They need to find a couple of decent WR's (someone that can catch the easy passes and also that can block down field). Because #27 (Raggsdale # might be wrong)couldn't catch a cold if he stuck his "something" in the Arctic Ocean!!

Two things I can just about guarantee.....1) McMillan will be at Central next year and 2) Sheppard will be in Clarksville next year. McMillan will be the next head coach at Central (either next year or the year after) Sheppard will not leave his hometown to coach Gibbs.
