  1. So Cooper Baugus is the stud QB from Peabody who is a finalist for the 2A Mr. Football Award. Nice. Cooper HUDL highlight
  2. This doesn't change anything but it speaks very highly of the football that is going to be played this Friday night. It's official, two of the three Class 6A Mr. Football Award finalist are playing against each other. Houston's Lincoln Pare and Whitehaven's Bryson Eason. To make it further intrigue ... Lincoln Pare is Houston's stud RB and Bryson is Whitehaven's stud ILB. Talk about iconic. I don't know if this is unprecedented, but it's RARE. How often do you get to watch a match-up of Mr. Football Award finalist compete against each other like this! If you live in West TN and you are a high school football fan, you don't want to miss this!!!
  3. Congrats to Bryson Eason for being selected to be a finalist for the 6A Mr. Football award. Who would have thought that a RB and two LBs are the fianlist.
  4. Common Opponents: Houston HHS 36, Southaven HS 12 ... 8/23/19 HHS 48, Central 13 ... 8/30/19 HHS 38, Cordova 7 ... 10/25/19 HHS 56, G-town 12 ... 11/8/19* HHS 55, White Station 20 ... 11/15/19* Whitehaven WHS 17, Southaven HS 6 ... 9/20/19 WHS 21, Cordova 0 ... 9/27/19 WHS 17, White Station 0 ... 10/11/19 WHS 39, G-town 0 ... 10/25/19 WHS 17, Central 0 ... 11/1/19 WHS 50, Cordova 8 ... 11/8/19* WHS 13, Central 0 ... 11/15/19* * = Playoff games Houston has scored an average of 46.6 ppg through the 5 times they played these common opponents. They have averaged giving up 12.0 ppg during same 5 contest. Narowing the scope if we look at just the playoffs, then Houston has averaged a whopping 55.5 ppg while giving up an average of 16 ppg. Whitehaven has scored an average of 22.0 ppg while playing these same common opponents on 7 different occassions. They have averaged allowing 2.0 ppg during those same 7 games played. Narrowiung our scope to just the playoffs, we see that Whitehaven has scored an average of 31.5 ppg while only allowing a measly 2,0 ppg. Food for thought.
  5. I'm rolling with Wooddale in this one as well. Home field advantage goes to the Chargers. The common opponent comparisons have one that is not similar ... Melrose. However, Woddale beat a team that beat Covington. Last year Wooddale lost this same QB for the season early in the year. It hurt them dearly. He's been healthy this year and he's tearing it up. Good for him.
  6. I'm glad I don't have this task.
  7. Here we go. .... Peabody's 2019 schedule 1. Milan (3A) ... 6-6 2. Sheffield (3A) ... 1-10 3. *McKenzie (2A) ... 6-6 4. Jackson Southside (4A) ... 3-8 5. *Adamsville (2A) ... 4-7 6. *Union City (2A) ... 7-5 7. Obion County (4A) ... 2-8 8. *Halls (2A) ... 4-6 9. BTW (1A) ... 5-6 10. *Gibson County (2A) ... 6-4 11. MAHS (2A) ... 6-5 12. *McKenzie (2A) (See above) 13. Fairley (2-A) ... 10-2 * = Region 7-2A Team
  8. LOL ... it's also not relevent to this game ... the better picture is against common opponents ... it's more accurate. But like I said, it's nice to look at.
  9. I have no idea how many points were only allowed by Fairley's 1st string D only.
  10. All of those stats don't come against common opponenets. Nice to look at though.
  11. MJG, come over to the Whitehaven vs Houston thread ... this one is officailly over anyway.
  12. OK ... I see where you are coming from, but in order for Sneed to shine then his OL has to shine with him. He will be great if he can get the ball and look upfield and not have to dodge a DL as soon as he gets the ball. The OL needs to block while moving their feet ... no reaching and grabbing or becoming an illegal man downfield on pass plays. This game hinges on the OL play, pure and simple. They do thier JOB, we win.
  13. Read my response to Golddoctore above.
  14. You are cool. I understand this is a big game and Fairley isn't a pushover. I'm rooting for Fairley myself, but I understand what they are up against as well. This should, for all intense and purposes, be a whale of a game. If it goes how I think ... it will be suspensfull until the end.
  15. 1) Look at the common opponents comparison I just posted. 2) Why on earth shouldn't I respond the way I've responded in the past in other threads? Eat CROW for what? If Peabody wins ... Good Season Fairley, Good win Peabody ... and vice versa. ????? I'm sorry if that offends you in any way but that's just how I roll. I've never been perfect in picking winners and I will probably get some more wrong in the future, but eating CROW is for people who talk smack to one another ... when have you read ANY post I've ever done where I talk smack to an opponent's fan base? For that matter, where in this thread ... ANYWHERE in this thread have I stated that Fairley will win? Go find it and post it. I'll save you the trouble ... you won't find it.
  16. Let's examine common opponents shall we? Fairley: FHS 28, MAHS 6 ... 11/01/19 ... /\ = 22 FHS 36, Aville 0 ... 11/08/19 ... /\ = 36 FHS 34, UC 6 ... 11/15/19 ... /\ = 28 PF 98, PA 12 ... Scoring ave. = 32.67 ppg, Scoring D Ave. = 4 ppg Peabody: PHS 42, Aville 7 ... 09/20/19 ... /\ = 35 PHS 63, UC 14 ... 10/09/19 ... /\ = 49 PHS 38, MAHS 0 ... 11/08/19 ... /\ = 38 PF 143, PA 21 ... Scoring Ave. = 47.67 ppg, Scoring D Ave. = 7 ppg Peabody has scored more points in those three games surpassing Failrey by and average of 15 ppg, while defensively, Fairley defense has surpasseed Peabody's D by allowing 3 ppg fewer in those three common opponents.
  17. Who on earth is underestimating anything about Peabody? Seems to me the underestimating is by the folks who want Peabody to win. That Fairely D is pretty dog gone nasty in it's own right.
  18. Fairley plays their home games at JP Freeman (4) which is grass. They also have played at Crump (1), MUS (1) and at Whitehaven (1) which are turf. They have also played at the Fairgrounds (1) which is also grass. I don't know what surface they played on when they played Hernando nor do I rememnber the fields thay played on against A-ville and UC. Needless to say they have played on both surfaces throughpout the year.
  19. I don't know about the "like they did against UC" portion of your comment, but, Run AND Pass is what they do. They are not one deminsianal. Stack the box at your own peril. Peabody will have to worry about the pass along with the run. All Fairley's back needs is a sliver of light, especially on the edge. and he's GONE! I know the DC at Peabody will prep his guys, but he can't play for them, and vice versa ... the Fairley DC will have to game plan to contain Peabody's O, but he can't play for his men either. This is going to be a good one!
