Jake Hewitt hit a homerun in the top of the 8th inning to beat Pickett, 5-4. Pickett was leading the whole game, and we come back to tie it in the top of the 7th. It would have been worse but they hit the first batter of the game in the face and he got thrown out of the game for throwing his helmet down! Three people got thrown out of the game last night, ump's were a little uptight When or has Celina/Clay Co ever won the district? cause its coming!!! GO DAWGS

I met him at a couple of football games and I saw him at one baseball game. He may be one of the strangest, most self-absorbed teachers/coaches I have ever met or talked tried to carry on a conversation with. We were total strangers (me and two dads from Smithville who met him) and all he did was "name drop" for five or so minutes Thats the funniest thing I have ever heard!!!! If you know him at all you know he would not talk to a total STRANGER, and especially not talk about himself to a total stranger....now he would talk about himself to friends or ATHLETES!!hehe If he likes you he will tell you and if he dont he will tell you as well!! He is a good trainer and knows his baseball! We are happy to have him at Clay Co, and wish he would coach us! Caesar dont go out on the water w/o a life jacket!!!

When Bailey is allowed to light it up, he fires up the whole team. I hope they keep up this fast tempo game because they blow everyone out when they do. Bobcat300, just wanting to know what you mean by this statement above?

They should be the team to beat in all the scrimmages considering they have been practicing in pads since July 25th! They were having two a days a week earlier than everyone else.....

Pickett has not beaten Monterey in 5 years so it will not be any different tonight. RBS will finish first and Monterey second. Yeah Celina does not have a coach, or that much talent....better luck next year!

you guys act like it is a secret who is pitching tomorrow. i am sure both teams will throw their best, hudson vs bailey, rematch of last year. RBS win 9-2. RBS is on fire right now and really hitting the ball as you see tonight. pickett just cant compete with the top two teams in the district.

It probably does not matter anyway, because you can not beat the other district with Friendship and whoever! Pickett Co, first place what a JOKE!!! I know Coach Bibb is a good basketball coach, but I bet he does not have a clue about baseball! Who knows why he is coaching.....from a woman to Bibb, might not be a very smart move, looks like he would get his basketball team in the gym! MONTEREY IS KING OF THE HILL!

Monterey will be the team to beat because Coach Looper has built a program. Monterey cares about BASEBALL. Until other schools put effort into baseball like Monterey they will be the team to beat. Do they have the most talent coming back? NO! Will they be as dominate? NO! What they do have is probably the best coach in the district, he will have them ready to play. Coach Looper will outcoach most of the schools in the district. Talent is not everything in baseball, especially in single A baseball. Now give a great coach talent and look out in single A.

Piercy is from Friendship and Bibb from Van Buren....Bibb won last year with less athleticism.....He now has some players, so I say Pickett by 16. Ezell does not have as good of a team as they have had in the past. Piercy will do a great job there over time.

Looks like Clay Co had a let down after a huge win on Sat. Like the others said as good of a player as Stephens is, the MVP will come from the first place team, because whoever wins the district has a MVP type player on the team. You can just go down the list of teams.

I would have to agree with Chatt. Christian and Temple coming from Chatty. I would also say Pickett and Gordonsville. Nashville Christian is pretty good. I think Forrest is overrated with the most overrated player in the state on their team. I do not know who the team to beat from out west would be, I dont think they could match up with a Chatt Christian.

Maybe the best team in the region that did not make the playoffs. To me you are taking away from the teams that made the playoffs in your region. You guys are young maybe next year. Go Smith Co!

I was not there but I heard Clay never had a chance. 44, you scored to make it respectable, well if 47-6 is respectable, what is NON-respectable. I guess you got welcomed to real football. After the way your coach beat Temple, Pickett Co, RBS, and other inferior teams....how does it feel!!! maybe next year he will schedule some more first year schools and you can go 10-0!

I do believe someone is outside their mind if they think they will beat Gordonsville. First, I hope you dont play football to be talking like that. I hope you are just a proud student to talk up your team like that. Go to the strength of schedule, take a look at that! You beat Pickett Co., WOW, not even a varsity schedule. You beat Red Boiling Springs, a team that had the longest losing streak in the nation a couple of years back. Both of those teams together could combine and still only have 30 players. You are playing Temple this week, another 1st year program. You should beat them as bad as you want as well. You also play MJCA, another 1st year program. You also play White House-Heritage, another 1st year program. You can just show up and win 5 games with that schedule!!! Dont go out and talk about beating a TRADITION like Gordonsville by 35. Clay Co. will not beat Gordonsville. Enjoy the CUPCAKE schedule, because there are no gimmes in the playoffs.

Clay Co wins one game against a JV team and now they are world champs. You have always been pretty humble on here because you have gotten your butt handed to you, now you win one game and will win this friday and want to get cocky.
