  1. my son played for hixson the last two years and i think bledsoe has relly improved the last 2-3 years, we still beat them but, i though they were much improved
  2. yeah you're right, tourney field wasn't too tough- they did beat East Ridge wed. night- i know it's not ND or Marion, but it's got to count for something right?
  3. Do you care to elaborate on this "Living Legend" you all are about to have there in Bledsoe? He may be a good one, but "Living Legend" is quite a label to put on someone. How successful has he been? How many state championships? Where has he been coaching or teaching until now? Also someone at work said during the hearing in Sequatchie, it was quite embarrasing to hear a couple of your female baord members speak, as far and correct grammer and slang. are there any education requirements your board members have to meet or is that a non issue? Also, is this whole deal close to being over with? Whats the time table on all of this? Good luck and i hope it turns ouy the way it should!! 4. If you noticed, i said during your current coaches tenure you havent had the post players. The first couple of names im not familiar with, but the last two-" could have been rebounders"? So, only your posts are allowed to rebound? If they were tall and athletic enough why didnt they play any post? And your right, you have to be taught and have the desire to mix it up down low, and maybe that is your coach's fault i dont know. Im just saying that here recently bledsoe gets beat on the block- rebounding and post play- keep up with the rebounding during your next game and lets just see, and also look and see how many of your other players are just standing around instead or trying to rebound
  5. A couple of things- First, are you saying that two trips to the state tournament is not enough? Just making it to the state tournament is a great accomplishment, let alone twice. Some coaches coach a lifetime and never make it. I played against some of his teams and he did have a coulpe of good years, but before or after that im not sure. Second, way to show your support and confidence in your boys, saying you dont think they wont win but 5 or 6 games ( not sure how many your football team won, 4 i think?). I have watched valley basketball for a while, and i think what really holds bledsoe back is that they have never ( or in your current coaches tenure) had any really true post players with any kind of presence. They have always had decent guards, but no big tall guys doing the dirty work inside, and no they dont have to be tall, but it helps. I would say that bledsoe rarely wins the rebounding war, and doesnt get a lot of second chance points. A guy at work said one of Van Buren's post players pretty much had his way down on the block. Third, why dont you or bchwarrior or these other guys try to run for a spot on the school board? It sounds like you all really care about bledsoe- kids, academics and athletics. Why not take a shot and get a spot on the board? Then you wont have to get on message boards or call your board member, you will have the power to make these changes yourself- if they are as bad as you say they are.Anyway good luck to bledsoe and the whole rest of the valley thie year!!!!!
  6. Are you kidding? Check the record books for pikeville elem back in the late 70's? Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands to me. Back then, and i could be wrong, but didnt every elementary school have a team? If so, these so called records were probably put up against Rigsby and Wheeler and such. i wouldn't give any of those much thought. But as i said, i could be wrong, so if you have any insight please let me know, i just missed playing in the time frame yoiu mentioned, so i may know some of the guys you are talking about
  7. The only kid that moved from bledsoe to rhea and gained anything or had any success is the Hilliard kid, and he wound up at tech, and he could have gotten there playing at bledsoe, the rest went over there and got to play but did not stand out or gain any recognition. And i have seen the the sharp kid from pikeville play for rhea, and whlie he is good, not great, actually had a couple of drops in the game i saw(WR), and we could use him, i would feel just as comfortable with Thurman, and Kimbrell catching the ball.
  8. Yeah you have to ignore half of these commrnts from the bledsoe "faithful". i am not even from bledsoe, but i can say that the 3 0r 4 people that can continue to post on here about the administration and stuff has sort of turned bledsoe into the kid that everybody laughs at or makes fun of at school, i work with guys from all over the valley and all all they can talk about mon. mornring is what the bledsoe "faithful" has wrote on coacht . But back to coach Reel is it? I vividly remembering a while back after one of your games and they were posting how none of the coaches were fired up and showing any emotion, then later i read how they were calling coach reel trooper taylor and making fun of his "chest bumps" sounds to me like this guy doesnt have a chance either way, and a man i work with said he walked on and played at ut, and was chavis's right hand man for a couple of years after he got hurt, even ran the scout team on defense in practice, sounds like he may know more than some of you think- but i am not from there so someone please feel me in- thanks
  9. First off, I did not say bchs and many others have won without size, YOU said that about the 83 team, and i agreed with you. So are you saying that the coaches are not strength coaching, conditioning, teaching the basics, etc.? Because i would say that they are. As for the best boy athelete, i was just saying i have played, and do half way know what im talking about. So were you all-region, all-state, all tri-state?. I doubt it because there have only been a few of those, and i can recall most of them. So, are you around these kids daily, like i am? do you really know them? have you spent time with them? have you ever coached them? or coached anybody? well i have and all im saying is this, and after this i will not post again because i have better things to do: A coach can only do so much. Kids have changed so much from how they were in your day. He/She has to make the most of the players they have. Someone was complaining about the number of kids that came out. What do you want a coach to do? Go around and beg kids to play? Who wants someone on their team that doesn't want to be there in the first place?
  10. you're right, the 83 team was awesome. i believe we have established that about 200 times on this thread, and by the stats you posted, they were small, but sucsessful- which brings me back to our talent level, we are small as a team, yet we are not considered sucessful, please share your expert opinion. and lets see if you can come up with something other than the coaches, and as far as my sucess, if you must know, i was voted best boy athelete my senior year , so yes ive played and been sucesful
  11. To all the has beens at bledsoe co still living their dreams through their kids, I get on this site all the time, but, i never post. I think it is hilarious at some of the stuff you all put on here. Just because you played football 20 years ago, and you coach little blue football, that doesn't mean you know as much as you think, not saying that i do, but seriously, some of the sutff on here is total nonsense. If you want to coach, go to school, get a degree and go for it. For example, Chris Watson, great kid, love him to death, but he is not as fast as the 40 times you have posted. He is tough as a cob, and a good back, but his speed is average at best and you know it. Next, How about we lay off of Coach Roberson until they play a couple games, only fair right? He put his time in as an assistant and at leats deserves a shot. Also, the comment about an assistant looking for a place to stab, c'mon now, if you're gonna post something like that how about backing it up with something, a name or an incident, anything. About the amount of games they have won the past handful of years, has it ever occured ti you that maybe we just dont have the athletes we once had. or that your little D-1 prospect isn't quite as good as you think or want them to be? Think about it, our athletes have changed tremendously in just the last 10 years or so, the 95 and 96 teams were so much bigger and faster. On the lines you Cannon Anderson, Brooks Holloway, Jeff Gadd, Ron Sells, a guy named Alf and a couple of more that on average were 6'3, 6'4 and big, now are lineman are 5'9, 5'10 190lbs. You had big fast guys like jason smith, eric angel and jonathen kelly running the ball. Our kids are basisally too small and slow to compete like we all want them to. Our kids today dont want disicpline, they would just assume to quit as someone get on them a little bit. Oh yeah, just because your kid comes home from practice and tells you something, that doesnt necesarily mean its true. They are kisd and they do tend to leave out details. Anyway, ya'll have fun trashing the poeple whose job you want but cant have.
  12. bledsoestheboys, since you are man enough to get on here and trash your own school, why not be man enough to let all of us here in bledsoe co. who your are. you know, it's people like you who are part of the problem. you don't want to do anyhting to help, but you will be the first to get on something like this message board and trash the teams you probablly weren't good enough to make in the first place. you know, it's going to be tough to win a lot of ballgames when you are starting 2 freshman and 5-6 sophomores every game, and your district includes marion, grundy, sequatchie and hixson. Oh yeah by the way, I agree, learn how to type or quit wasting everyone's time, it hurts my eyes to try and read your typing. I will be looking forward to your response.

  14. Hey SCHS#23, I have been out of highschool for a while,so I could'nt care less how bledsoe or sequatchie does. But,before you start making fun of Bledsoe Co., why don't you take a look around at Sequatchie? You know as well as i do that there isn't anymore to do in Dunlap than there is in Pikeville. The town, as well as the people are exactly the same, just seperated by 20 miles. I have alot of friends from sequatchie, and they are just as red at the neck as anyone from bledsoe. As for the goat comment, that is exactly the kind of stupid stuff that has no business on here, it's ignorant and you make sequatchie look bad, grow up.
