  1. Opinions are like ------ everybody has one and they all stink. Everyone needs to chill out and have some fun, in the end it will all be settled on the field. This is not college football where espn determines who plays for the championship. Relax and let all have their opinions.

I hope the excitement has not died yet. I think the rebs have a chance to turn it around this year. In a six team region with one sure win i think the playoffs could be a lock.
  3. I have always thought to be the champs you have to beat the champs. Mt Pleasant is the champs right now and someone will have to beat the to take over that designation. I think Wayne Co will be really good this year and could beat the tigers. I also think Huntland could be a sleeper in this region. They always play hard and people should not be surprised if they pull off an upset or two this year.
  4. After the Mt Pleasant play day list your predictions for this region. 1. Wayne Co 2. Mt Pleasant 3. Collinwood 4. Huntland 5. Cornersville 6. Moore Co 7. Perry Co 8. Columbia Academy 9. Zion
  5. the guy is correct if the middle school students are under the same principal they can play or practice. many schools have more than one building. call back and check with grand poobah again and he will clarify it for you. back to the topic i thought huntland looked decent considering their were missing three starters with injuries. It was a fun day for all i hope all the coaches will do it again next year.

Check with Bob Salmon he has really covered spring practice for both schools. I dont think either team has had a article in the paper about spring football.

There is a few hard working coaches at Huntland. Be careful how you make those kind of comments.

Hiring a coach is risky business for anyone not just franklin county. Winning at riverdale or anywhere else does not mean you will win at another school. I wish the new coach well and i would suggest that if the kids play hard and he takes care of all the head coaching business he will be there for a while. A lot goes into running a football program other than football itself. This may be where the prior coach was weak. We as non coaches dont realize all that goes into determinig if a coach is let go or not. Support the new coach and get off of the administrators.
  10. I wish the new coach at FCHS luck in turning the program around. If all the sideline coaches will let him coach the team he will do okay. But ask yourself a question, is there any fulmers, fraleys, rudders, hayworths, majors, or corns on the team at this moment. Be realistic about the talent and let the guy coach and all will be well.
  11. If your last name is not Edmonds you are talking about things you dont know about. You really dont know who the AD gets a long with or how long he will have his job.
  12. Actually he is good friends with the AD at FCHS.
  13. Big spring scrimmage day coming in May. The two day event will bring together some pretty good teams for there spring scrimmages. Good event for folks that enjoy good football.
  14. Is there enough money for Mac to take the job. I am sure the Huntland coach hopes he gets a hefty raise so he will get one to.
  15. The National Athletic Trainers' Association has a position statement on participation in relation to the dry temperature and wet temperature. This is another reason the TSSAA should have some type of requirement for school systems to have Certified Athletic Trainers at high schools or have one accessible to make such calls. Coaches should not have that responsibility placed on their shoulders when there are qualified personnel that went to school for these specific situations. If your school does not have a Certified Athletic Trainer then you go to www.nata.org and find that position statement for a guideline to follow. Hope this helps those that are concerned. 16. Culleoka 3 Richland 3 going to the top of the eight. Richland scored 2 in the bottom of 7. Had runner at 3rd with one out. Could not score. Great game.
  17. Culleoka 2 Richland 1 going to top of sixth
  18. Culleoka 1 Richland 0 after 1
  19. CA was leading Cully 1-0 going into the sixth. Cully just scored 5 runs in the top half of the sixth to take the lead. Keep you updated if able. Winner to play Richland in the Finals following this game. Cully wins it 6-2. Plays Richland next in the Finals.
  20. Good luck to Coach Pickett and the grundy program. Having scrimmaged grundy through the years i know that both pickett, brewer, and taylor are all good guys and good football coaches. Getting the kids out and football back at the elementary level will be a huge step in the right direction. Welcome back chris, hope everything goes well for you and your family.
  21. I know it is early, but I told you before the season started. Huntland is almost always able to regroup and play on. Undefeated in the district and all on the road. They are always a team that will give their best and show up to play. Pitching and defense are what really wins games. Their loses to Cascade could have really gone their way. Cascade is a good team and really could have gone either way. Keep your eyes open. Most games at the end of the season are at home which should equal wins. Not saying they will, but should. Keep up the good work guys.
  22. Huntland did lose a lot of numbers and talent last year, but I think they will be a pretty good baseball team this year. Pitching and defense will carry them this year. They will be fundamently sound defensively. I believe they will get better as the year goes. Play may be a little sluggish at first due to inexperience, but by the end of the season they will be a good ball club. Keep everybody healthy and continue to improve and you will have a better than most expect season. Huntland has almost always been able to replace what they lose. This season will be definitely an interesting one. Keep your eyes open and watch what happens.
  23. Chad is a great coach first of all. I feel that when selecting a coach of the year, you should vote for a coach that gets the most out of his players. The team that finishes first will usually win the award. Many times a coach will get the most out of his team and not win many games. Who deserves the award the team with the best players or the team that has achieved as high as it can.
  24. Moore county talent compared with Mt Pleasant, what a joke. Someone might want to tell the bright young coach that he has joined the toughest single a region in the state. Buckle the chin straps tight and get ready to rumble.
  25. Heard they were hiring Riverdales secondary coach and he was bringing 2 coaches with him. Any truth to that.
