  1. Everyone is afarid to do anything because the AD is her twin brother, the principal is her best pal. and if you mess with her the girls will suffer. She holds grudges. She's like a 16 year old kid in a 50 year old body. Wake up from your dream world!
  2. After losing 71-35 to siegel and now 77-25 to Cookeville, please tell me PHargis what would you do? The system here is run like a elementary school level team, she doesn't try to talk to the elementary coaches or anything.....she needs some excuse for her failure, the only one is the middle school coach Brewer who helped with her petition to get her back in years ago. A yes man. History does repeat itself because girls quitting and losing by 40-50 points happened the first time around for this coach. And yes , if there was a new coach here many girls like Fisher, Malone, Hennessee, Bond, Bess, etc. would still be plaing. These are girls who got significantplaying time last year. So there.
  3. too much experience and SIZE for Warren County to handle. They lose by 20+.
  4. You need to develop a offensive and defensive system to where you HAVE to play 9 to 11 girls every game. They have the talent and depth to press, play man2man, and fast break, push the ball up, to win games. They need some consistency from the coaches and trust them. The coach needs to return the favor and trust the players. I do agree the Woodward girl is talented and the middle school is developing players, its time for them to stick with it in high school as well. I would try to get the Shay Sullivan girl back too. Heckofa player.
  5. Warren Co lost another player -Soph pg- Macy Broom. They "might" have a team this year. Keep up the good work coach!! As far as the other teams, every team will better their records from the previous year except White Co. with their talent and coaching they will lose more ONLY because of youth. Warren Co W-I-L-L finish last and I can honestly say might not win a game this year. I want the girls to do good, but with them dropping like flys what is the community and fans to do? Warren Co roster-2006 Elizabeth Lavoie-sr, Casey Owens-sr, Taylor Nunley-jr, Savannah Ruteledge-sr, Brittany Frazier-jr, Brooke Bowman-soph, Laura Kate Haley-soph, Katie Mayfield-soph, Jessica Mullican-soph
  6. It is not frustation that comes from the post, it is basic facts. She has never won while coaching oon the high school level AND many of the district coaches like her because they can outcoach her. Yes, the county schools go to 8th grade but no one has tried to get those girls together for AAU or any kind of organized ball to get familiar with one another, The coach has never tried because she needs the excuse for her losing. It can be done but not with this group of coaches!
  7. Warren Co lost 4 seniors from a 10-19 team. THey have one starter back and three or four girls have quit this summer/fall. I hear they have about 8 varsity players left. When is the county going to realize that it is time for change? THey have support here, but no one dedicated to winning. Good luck this year, they'll need it.
  8. What everyone is not thinking about is that Warren Co will not sneak up on people like they did last year and there will be some games the defense has to win because it take time for a new offensive backfield to mesh and communicate with the coaching staff.
  9. Like I said, Wendi Scott is prepared. She has paid her dues and will branch out from the Burt coaching tree at Riverdale just like Kathy Dye did at Page. I hope they hire her, she will get the job done.
  10. With Coach Wendi Scott's background (played on state champ team in Lawrence co) and her getting some of the best coaching advice and learning at Riverdale under Coach Burt. She is probably one of the most prepared young female coaches to take on a program. I would put my faith in her.
  11. Congrats to all teams this year. Can we look forward to next year. My poll goes like this (no offense to anyone): 1. Riverdale - Lanning, Bivens, Wilson, Talley, Burt, nuff said. 2. siegel - Height, experience, coaching 3. Cookeville - Height, experience - guard play is concern 4. Blackman - This is my surprise team - Hicks and co 5. White Co - Loss of McFadden and Haley hurt, but a lot return 6. Oakland - Team will be a lot better offesnsively and defensively 7. Lebanon - New coach, new look 8. Warren Co - Same coach, same results... lose four seniors.
  12. Everyone knows how I feel about Warren Co and their coaching situation and I 'll have to say in Lebanon, if she has been there for four years she has had ample time to get a program started and her mark on the team. She has not gotten the talent to stay in Lebanon and obviously no one really wants to play for her(lack of participation). The administration has to step in and let someone else try. She may have the resume' (played there, at UT), but some good players cannot make the switch to coaching even though they know a lot, they can't teach it and communicate it to the girls. If you can't do it in four years, it's time for new blood!
  13. Hoop apologizes for getting closed, but it ran its course and appreciate the time it was up for people to see and respond for what is going on in Warren Co. It hurt that we started 4 seniors and the best she could do was 10-19. Good luck seniors and hold tight to the future. Congrats to Cookeville, Riverdale, White Co, and siegel for moving on. Show everybody 7AAA is still alive and kickin. Oh! lookout for Blackman next year, I'm a big fan of the coach and the talent there. (Taking nothing away from the rest, they showed the biggest improvement as the year went along)
  14. It could be an uphill battle against the hottest team in the district. I watched them play Cumberland Co last week #2 in state, they pushed them to the brink before the lady jets finished the game. We will miss the seniors. It is so wild to see the other teams progress and get better, while we stay the same, just coaching I guess. She'll probably be on the sidelines in a wheelchair before she can understand she is in over her head in high school.
  15. Can someone tell me how no one made all-district? I heard we had two honorable mention, which is good, but no matter what she thinks about it we should have had at least one (Locke, Rhea, or B. Frazier). Coach nominates them, doesn't she? OR if no nominations, they give honorable mention. Pretty shallow, coach. You keep showing your true colors. I guess you got lucky by catching Tullahoma at a bad time (injuries), but Coach Odom will AGAIN put you in your place on Monday. I want the girls to win so badly, and its hard to root for them because of her on the bench. That's how badly she turns people off toward something they love - basketball! She doesn't help basketball careers, she destroys them.
  16. Wait! If you take 59-81, add 1-24 and 6-19, you get 66-124. My warren county math skills come through again. I am getting closer to her career coaching record. I am so glad I can help people see the light!!! I do hope we win against Tullahoma. Good luck seniors!!! Does anyone know about who made all-district in 7AAA?
  17. Well, we play Tullahoma this week. What does everyone think? This should be a win against a 2 win team, but I thought that last time. I'll be there to send off the seniors that night and hope they continue shooting well, but I wish I could send off someone else too. wink!wink! Let me throw this out to you supporters, her record since she has been back is something like 59-81 and a first round loss in the district tourney every year to boot!! That's something special, not to mention her other four or five losing seasons. Remember 1-24, coach? I don't but I heard about it AND no scholarships too.
  18. Granted she does have a winning record against Dekalb, that is a reason why we play them. DUH! Dekalb looked like a middle school team, if anyone thinks this will help get us ready for the district tournament, YOU ARE CRAZY!!!!! It is nice to stop the bleeding with a win but it would be a lot more encouraging against a more worthy opponent. The girls did shoot better though. There are always one or two good freshmen every year, but there are players that are not getting chances. As for building for next year (the best advice I could give would be let someone else try), she has been building long enough and hasn't produced anything yet. Has anyone realized what talent is returning for everyone else in the district as well? Riverdale, siegel, Cookeville, Oakland, White Co, Blackman...... p.s. She will probably stay because brother will let it be her decision when to leave, because we want her gone - she stay on just to spite us and show us she can. Nobody comes to the games to see the coach, just the girls.
  19. Well, well, well...... looks like ol' hoop knows what I am talking about. First, the coach lost the game against Oakland.period!!! She has lost many games in the past couple of years. Taking nothing away from the freshmen, but you do not give them experience during a district game even if it is the last place team THAT YOU SHOULD BEAT!!!!!! If she thinks we are stupid enough to believe her excuses, then she is the one lacking in the thinking department. There is no reason to lose these last four games, NO EXCUSE! Also, if Rhea was hurt (the excuse as to why she didn't put her in) why was she not with the trainer? So what was wrong with Locke or Patterson, I mean she let H. Frazier foul out in the third quarter. Everyone was wondering what in the name of Joe Stewart was she doing putting in Broom and Long and playing a man defense. Grandstaff appreciates her for giving the district win wrapped up with a bow. I am very proud of the freshmen for making it to the championship game, but this is not the best freshmen class, last years and three years ago was probably the best. Its just the competition was a lot better. Even the coach didn't show up when they played Blackman cause she thought they would lose. She is a joke and she is turning the program into a joke. I feel sory for the senior class to go out under her. It shows how much faith she has in her players, her true colors show. I f anyone didn't see it last night , they are in denial. I would be embarassed to show my face if I was the AD, Principal, and especially the HEAD COACH. I am embarassed to say I support a team that has a coach like her.
  20. No one came around when I played and I'm pretty sure none of the elementary coaches like her because she uses them as her excuses instead of her trying to help them develop the girls. This program is about as dead as her coaching career. We need a win tonight!!!!!!! Sorry to hear about Kayla Bond's injury, work hard to get back in time, girl.
  21. The one thing I saw was IMPROVEMENT from both Leabanon and Blackman, they may have lost to WC last time but thay studied and PREPARED for us and it shows. Whyaskwhy, those words need to be said more often and loudly as well. It hurts to see these girls lose , but it CAN change only if the principal and AD are willing to to what is best for the future for these girls. Surely, they have a heart?
  22. They are content on being where they are in the middle of the bottom. She always preaches about "hard work and discipline and being competetive", but what about W-I-N-N-I-N-G? It seems to NOT be in the vocabulary for the Warren County coaching staff. Tonights game against Lebanon should be a win as is Friday's game against Oakland, but I thought that about Blackman, too. Maybe they will play a post tonight, who knows? It's time for her to quit being stubborn and look in the mirror and ask herself if she is being fair to Warren County and the future of this program by staying on and coach. She setting it back year after year.
  23. Look, I have seen Tullahoma play many times and this years team does play harder AND smarter than teams in the past., BUT you cannot come into a program that has went something like 14-72 in the past couple of years. Being a Warren Co fan, we have never done anything since we left 6 on 6 in 1979. The coach looks like she preaches running, rebounding, and defense pretty good. Remember, you play in one of the top three districts in AAA. Columbia wasn't good for a while until Coach Moore came in. Give it some time. At least you have a new coach and not a retread like us in WC.
  24. Well, wel lost to Blackman. Here's the best thing I have ever heard."WE NEED MORE POINTS FROM THE POST" it is hard for the posts to score sitting on the bench. Lavioe, Hall, Hennessee, Fisher, Frazier on the bench -five guards on the floor. Huh? This is a team they handled AT Blackman, and now lost to. 8-16 is their record now. Now, here is my "hoopservations" on improving the high school basketball program (this is a rip-off of a local sports writers column about improving elementary b-ball), get a new coach AND new direction. This embarassment has gone on long enough, even brother (AD) doesn't show his self during the girls games. Wild huh?
  25. Lost to White Co 64-37. Never was in the game, took WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too many 3point shots and not hit. Great job in being "competitive" quote the coach. Let's go girls against Blackman, remember defense and rebounding win.
