  1. Does anyone know anything about an all-star game in West TN this weekend?
  2. how many seniors does Greenfield have?
  3. Who are the unsigned seniors for any position? I'll start with some from the West TN area-- Becca Morris- guard/foward from USJ Charity Patterson-guard from Madison Anna Trull -guard from Mckenzie
  4. Becca Morris-University School of Jackson-Class A all-tournament team is a sophomore thumb
  5. We live in Jackson, but are committed to traveling.
  6. I know this is not the board to post for AAU, but can't seem to get any answers from the other board-My daughter is a 16u sophomore-she is a 2-year starter on the varsity-plays 2, 3 and 4 spots-excellent shooter, ballhandler, rebounder and passer-we need an AAU team for this summer, and it seems that we will have to go to Middle Tennessee to try and get on one-any thoughts
  7. USJ played Madison tonite-beat them by 30-the JV played NS last night thumb
  8. Does anyone out there know times for the Westview classic at Westview High School on Friday, Nov 19 and the times for the games on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving? Thanks
  9. VeerCoach, Were you at the game-because you must have been sitting somewhere else. The only accurate part about your account is that Morris hit the batter. Morris never opened his mouth, I guess I would know, I'm his mother. Our catcher got between the GP catcher and the mound because the GP catcher took 3-4 steps into the infield toward the mound. If anyone was wagging his tongue, it was him. Morris stood on the mound with his arms folded the whole time. If you knew him you would know that he would have never cursed nor said anything. This is a kid who broke his arm throwing a pitch in April of 2003 and had only thrown 20 innings this season. Yes we were out of pitching and our #1 guy who threw against GP Tuesday hurt his back and arm then. GP has a great team and the incident was unfortunate but get the facts right and don't run down either program. The GP has an attitude problem, but he feeds off the stir that he causes. GP was just the better team this year, that's all. The Bruins played great all season and got some bad breaks with pitching entering the state tournament. That's the bottom line.
  10. My daughter participated in the USA Junior Nationals today held at Lipscomb University--seemed like a pretty legit organization. Has anyone had any experience with this organization in the past. They will invite players to play on a team Tennessee for a national festival in July in Columbus, Ohio. Any comments or experiences would be helpful. Thanks
  11. AJ's arm is on the right track back to 100%-not there yet I don't think. He threw 4 innings in relief against Brighton last Wednesday-gave up 1 hit and 1 unearned run. Speed is somewhere in mid-80's. He has worked extremely hard and has been very blessed to get back to this point. He's headed in the right direction!
  12. There might have been at least one private school at this years girls state, but it just happens that USJ is in the same alignment with the other top 3 teams in the state-Trenton, Huntingdon, and Gleason. Class A basketball in West TN is tough. Gleason and USJ both could probably have beaten any of the other first round teams in Class A state. As for hard-work--girls work just as hard as guys and sometimes harder because many of them often don't have the natural abilities that many talented HS male athletes have. Girls work very hard-and at USJ we want to see our girls teams excell just as much as our boys teams. But they excell with hard work, not extra advantages just because we are a private school. All that "concrete" we have at USJ certainly does not make our girls better- it's their desire to practice and work hard.
  13. We played both Huntingdon and Trenton in Regional Championship and Substate. I think Fuller from Huntingdon is a much better all around post player.
  14. USJ has no seniors and start 3 juniors, a sophomore and a freshman.
  15. Courtney Alvey of USJ is hands down, no contest, not even close the best player in District 14A this season. She showed it night after night as USJ won the regular season title and the tournament title. Crystal Eason from Scotts Hill is a good player, but she definitly was NOT the best player in the district this year. It is a terrible shame when a player is given an award based on her past. If Eason was the MVP ot 14A in regular season, why did USJ hold her to 17 and 15 points respectively in their two meetings which were blowouts and why did Scotts Hill get bumped from the tournament in the first game to END their season. And in both of those regular season contests between USJ and Scotts Hill, Eason took awful shots, did not hustle and looked like she could have cared less-some MVP! Alvey was named tournament MVP and rightfully so, but she should have been given the credit for a great regular season she deserves.
  16. USJ put their own thumping on Camden back in December themselves! Huntingdon seems to be playing alot of bad games recently and still winning-not a good trend to be setting at tournament time. A really good team won't let them get away with playing bad and still winning.
  17. My daughter plays for USJ with Julia. Her name is Becca Morris, she is the point guard. We may see Gleason down the line come tournament time. We still have a young team with no seniors. Best of luck to you! Lisa Morris
  18. University School of Jackson has an outstanding freshman class!!!
  19. Julia Suddath is the daughter of Jim Suddath-He is the new pastor at our church, Evangelical Community Church in Jackson. She is a sophomore and has a twin sister that plays on the volleyball team at USJ. Julia also plays soccer. Her dad, Jim is 6-7 and played basketball at Duke University. He is orginally from Georgia. Don't think they have any relatives in West Tennessee. They just moved here in June from Chattanooga.
  20. USJ played Goodpasture and BB at state. Lost to GP 1-0 and BB 3-0. I would say both are almost equal especially in pitching. Neither team could really hit our pitcher-BB capitalized on some errors and then got a ball down the line in the corner. Both pitchers held our team equally well. We finished third in the state and were proud of it especially with 8th graders starting at catcher, 1st, short and RF.
  21. I got that info from the media who got it from the TSSAA they said.
  22. They did not choose all-tourney teams this year at the state because they said 8 teams was too many to pick from.
  23. Congrats, but shame on Marshall County for not cooperating with McKenzie's graduation tonight and playing earlier in the day. Mckenzie was without 4 starters because of it. That'w low-what difference would it have made to play the game at say 2:00. Every other host school in the same situation changed game time to accomodate the other school's graduation if at all possible.
