  1. Good Question....as I listened over to the game over the phone I was thinking the same thing. For example, in the 5th with the score tied at 3 and first base open, they threw a fastball to Keck who turned it around to deep dead center. They did walk him on 4 straight in the 6th with the bases loaded though. I guess 1 run given up was better than 4?
  2. Game is tied at 1 in the 6th. FRA had a player get struck by a foul ball in the dug out and had to be taken to the hospital according to the Radio. My prayers go out to him for a speedy recovery.
  3. 7-3 Final. Good win by the Big Red! Congrats to Sycamore on a Great Season!
  4. 7-3 Tigers going into the Top of the 7th. Keck now has 6 RBIs total.
  5. Bottom of 6...still 5-3 Tigers.
  6. Nail biter in Lexington....in the 6th, Tigers with a 5-3 lead. Keck has 2 bombs and 5 total RBIs for the Tigers.
  7. Coach Clark will find a way for the Panthers to win.
  8. Typically, districts have a nomination process where teams get a certain number of picks based on where they finish in the regular season and the district tourney. For example say district X has 6 teams and the coaches decide to have the MVP and 12 other players make up the team....the first place team might get 4 picks, second 3, third 2, fourth 1, fifth 1, and sixth 1. Some districts will nominate who would get their respective teams slots, and then some districts the coach of the teams just picks who gets it. For the MVP, the coaches would nominate their MVP and then all the coaches would vote on who would be the best player..and you couldn't vote for your own player. Some districts do the 1st team and 2nd team and go by votes received from all the coaches. Each district does it differently.
  9. Congrats Big Red! District Tourney Champs!
  10. Lexington wins 7-0 over SS. Keep it rolling Big Red, I know two Middle Tennesseans that want to see you playing up here in a few weeks.
  11. He went into private business after the season was over last year.
  12. Best of luck to the Big Red! Just making the state tournament is quite an accomplishment, but 3 out of the last 6 years is even better, considering the road they had to travel each time. No gimmie wins along that road. This year could be another sweep for West TN with Huntingdon or JCS in A, Lexington, USJ, or Dyer Co in AA, and Bartlett in AAA.
  13. Both teams have to play on the same field though...
  14. Lexington punches their state tournament card for the second year in a row.....11-8! Congrats Big Red!
  15. Lexington up 11-7 over Giles Co. in the bottom of the 6th
  16. I think Huntingdon is one of the favorites, if not the favorite, in Class A to take it all. I'm sure NewStang will be there cheering them on. If you need any help with finding hotels and etc., Jeff Griggs can get you my number. Congrats!
  17. Congrats to Lexington on its 7th straight trip to the Region.
  18. Lexington beat Liberty 9-7. Will meet Bolivar tomorrow for the district championship
  19. I was really shocked to see the WC-Rossview match, and you are right P4K, WC didn't play its game at all. I think if you play again, WC wins, but Rossview just played inspired ball last night and a big, supportive crowd helped them. WC so well-coached, I just knew that they would wake up after that first one and take care of business. That 25-4 game was pretty nice to see from where I was sitting. We jumped out to a 12-1 lead and things just snow-balled. The whole game took all of 11 minutes to play. But things will get really hard, really quick from here on out. Good luck to you and your daughter in club season and I'll catch up with you soon.
  20. Game 1 In a very large suprise, Rossview defeated Wilson Central in 3. Rossview has to be a candidate for the most improved team in the state. Game 2 LaVergne over Clarksville NE 25-16, 25-12, 25-8 Championship LaVergne over Rossview 25-4, 25-20, 25-8 LaVergne hosts the Sectional on Thursday at 7pm at the Wolverine Athletic Center inside LaVergne High School.
  21. Thanks CU..i Really appreciate that...i've missed getting to talk to you this year. I have no idea if we can make it to the Boro, but we'll give it the ole' college try.
  22. Beat you P4K....I got home at 11. Of course I have a 45 minute drive from LaVergne so it does take a while there. I agree about moving the Championship to another night. We've done a couple of 3 out of 5 tri-matches this year and it is very tough to play back to back like that. I don't know if you were here in 2004 but we did 3 out of 5 tri-matches for all district games. My very first introduction to 9-AAA volleyball was on the road at Beech with Hendersonville. After getting the bus back to LaVergne and then home, I strolled in my house at 12:40 am. That didn't make my soon to be ex-wife very happy. Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat with you last night...I'll make it a point to come over Monday.
  23. Semi Finals LaVergne over Smyrna 3-1 Wilson Central over Mt. Juliet 3-2 Finals LaVergne over Wilson Central 3-0 Region 5-AAA Tournament is Monday at Rossview High School.
