  2. I don't have all the results in right now from Tuesday's games but I can give you a ball park figure. LaVergne 12-0 Wilson Central 8-3 Mt. Juliet 6-4 Smyrna 6-6 Gallatin 5-6 Hendersonville 2-8 Beech 0-10
  3. Good to see you tonight Pageman and thanks for the overview of the match. You should have hung around for the Senior night festivities afterwards....Elaine and TGLJ stayed and got some world famous Chicken and dumplings.
  4. According to on the coaches in 11-AAA, they only play each other once per season.
  5. CoachT this is totally off topic I know, but this is your website...how come your are member #2?
  6. As soon as Mary gets them to me I'll put them up.
  7. LaVergne and Donelson Christian to Ravenwood this afternoon for a Varsity/Junior Varsity Tri-match. In the first match, DCA won a hard fought match in 3 games, with the final game going something like 27-25. Ravenwood won the first game, and DCA fought back to win games 2 and 3. Using that momentum from the first match, DCA fought hard, but lost in 2 to LaVergne 25-21 and 25-17. DCA held a 16-11 lead at one point before LaVergne woke up to get things rolling. In the second game, LaVergne led 19-7 before DCA rallied to make things more respectful. In the 3rd match, LaVergne jumped out and never looked back against Ravenwood winning 25-15 and 25-7. JV-wise, LaVergne was 2-0, Ravenwood was 1-1, and DCA was 0-2. (I think, don't hold me to that). LaVergne is now 24-4 and will host Beech for a district match on Tuesday.
  8. This is a reflection of the Blackman Coach, Mary Dayton. She is top notch in my book and if she stays in it long enough, will become the standard by which volleyball coaches in Tennessee are measured, along with Coach Neely, Coach Campbell, Coach Whitaker, Coach Cockerham, and etc. You will not find a classier coach, or person for that matter, than Mary Dayton.
  9. LaVergne traveled to Independence tonight and defeated the Eagles in 3. Games scores were 25-19, 25-23, 25-18. Great, highly intense match with some awesome defense by both teams at times. Stacy Oladinni led LaVergne with 9 kills and 5 blocks. Kellye Piercey added 7 kills and Brittney Hardiman and Amber Murphy had 6 kills each. LaVergne is now 22-4. Independence drops to 13-3.
  10. It doesn't have to be that way. They hired a new High School sports editor, and we were told that the Tennessean was going to provide good coverage of all high school sports. I guess that was just lip service. Hey Tennessean, if you don't want to PAY your writers to do the work, how about finding some future newspaper reporters at the local high schools and let them do some articles. I'm sure they'd love the experience of writing for a big paper and learning all about deadlines, you wouldn't have to pay their salaries, and minor sports would get coverage. You could even have full-proofing responsibilities. Looks like a win-win situation to me. If you will notice, a lot of the volleyball articles in the Commercial Appeal were written by some one "special to" the the CA. Some of these could be student writers.
  11. Looks like the CA is doing a really good job of keeping up with volleyball in its paper. Wow, if the Tennessean did this, we wouldn't know how to act. Volleyball is much bigger in Nashville than in Memphis, yet it seems we still aren't getting any press to speak of. They even have a top 10 poll for the Greater Memphis area. Come on Mid-state press...come out and cover the best thing going on right now. http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/preps/
  12. It was good to see you P4K....In your team's defense, you were a little short-handed with the absence of Mallory Fisher. Without her, LaVergne's middles were able to have some success. Your little one is going to be quite a player. Keep her working hard.
  13. LaVergne won 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-17) behind Stacy Oladinni's 10 kills and 5 blocks. Amber Murphy added 6 more kills along with 3 blocks. LaVergne outsides Kellye Piercey(5), Brittney Hardiman (5), and Sarah Thacker (4) had a combined 14 kills. Anna Garrison had 31 assists and 3 kills. In the JV match, SHS won 2-1 (15-25, 25-20, 15-9). LaVergne faces Mt. Juliet on Monday in another key 9-AAA match.
  14. TN teams get 4 tournaments that count as 3 matches. We get 35 total matches, so the 4 tournaments will count as 12 total matches. Last season, we got 45 matches with 4 tournaments that counted at 4 matches each. Basically we lost 6 matches with the change.
  15. P4K...can you see if you can get me the results of Tuesday's Hendersonville vs. Beech games (JV-Varsity scores)? I didn't get a report and am trying to get things squared away so I can post district standings. Thanks a million in advance!
  16. The Bulldogs visit LaVergne tonight beginning with the JV at 5 and the varsity will follow.
  17. LaVergne defeated Gallatin 3-0, 25-6, 25-15, 25-14 to improve to 11-4 and 3-0 in 9-AAA. Middles Stacy Oladinni and Amber Murphy combined for 16 kills and 9 blocks on the night. Outsides Kellye Piercey, Sarah Thacker, and Brittany Hardiman chipped in 19 kills collectively. The LHS JV also defeated GHS 2-0, 25-18, 25-17.
  18. Couple of things...Germantown graduated 7 or 8 seniors from last years team and Brentwood was not the AAA state runner's up in 2006, Sullivan South was. Otherwise, great post and full of good game scores.
  19. P4K...can you get me the JV Scores? I'm trying to keep up with everything district-wise this year and have a spreadsheet made to keep up with scores.

  21. The Middle Tennessee Volleyball Association was kind enough to put all sorts of lineup cards, score sheets for 2 and 3 games, Libero Tracking sheets, as well as officials pay data sheets. Click the link and enjoy. http://www.mtvba.net/coachinfo.html
  22. Over $28,000 worth of damage to LaVergne's field, stadium, track, and press box. But the intelligent individuals left perfect finger prints on the yellow proline paints cans they left behind.
  23. Great ran team camp and awesome talent there. I enjoyed seeing Pageman, TGLJ, and Ivolly there as well as a few others. We truly have some first class coaches in the mid-state (and Chattanooga) and I always enjoy my conversations with them. If your team has never been to this event, and you want to get better as a group, see great competition, be treated like an honored guest, and see where your team stands among the best in the state, I suggest you call Barbara Campbell early next spring and make your reservations.
  24. I tried to sneak a peek at Franklin while LaVergne played Lipscomb and my thoughts on them is that they aren't missing a beat with Jay being gone. They looked really good at times. I was mighty impressed with East Ridge the two times I saw them as well against Blackman and BGA. There were lots of good overall players from each team LaVergne played against. Tennessee volleyball just keeps getting better and better and after playing a bunch of out of state teams the past few weeks, I'll say that we have as good a core group of 15-20 volleyball teams as any area in the south outside of Louisville.(Is Louisville in the south???)
