  1. Page High in Franklin is looking for someone to be Asst Softball Coach for 2008. Please send information & experience to: btyree1@comcast.net
  2. ASA needs to have a way to have a division for high school athletes that have not played college ball. Either another division or make the Gold Division for Fresh/Soph in College & put the 18 under for high school junior/seniors. Those playing in college probably should be playing a college division or women's division, but until ASA sees this, it ain't goin to happen. Again best of luck to these Champs, they deserve the best. Quite a goup of players-
  3. Congratulations to Mike & all these girls ohn the Cruiser team. They have been working for this for quite some time. I can't tell you how many 16 ASA Championships there have been, but out in California, the Eagles out of Mid Tennessee beat the Batbusters in their backyard. Congratulations again & best wishes to all these girls.
  4. Just wondering, has anyone figured out how to work the new TSSAA rule that doesn't allow more than 50% players on next springs roster to play any kind of fall league or practice, etc. Just a thought what other areas are thinking about doing.
  5. I've heard the infield is looking really good. I'm not sure if we have the mix quite right, but that last dump load should do the trick. As long as it's better than JC's, everyone should be quite proud!

    TSSAA preseason

Volleyball could move with no problem, play in spring or fall. But that's not going to happen. One of the problem is that there are a bunch of football coaches that coach softball & they are not going to give that up. This comes up every year, but the TSSAA has pretty much told everyone, it's not going to happen.

    TSSAA preseason

It's not really the hitting instructor, I'm sure, he can get them ready to hit, have them ready to play defensivley, get in their head but he can only do so much. Sometimes you have to rely on your other coach, which could be scary, especially if he's just a rookie.
  8. Once the 1st official ruled the subs in, they are in the game, should be no Tech Foul. He could send them back to the table, but probably the horn sounded & the official might not of been aware of how many shots. Subs should enter before the last free throw, however, if they are signaled in, they are in the game. No Tech & if problem, the officials should have come together. Another thing, Coaches must not of known what had happened because that would have been a correctable error, coach could have called time out (without being charged) to get it corrected. Sounds like more than the officials, the coaches let it go.
  9. So what you are really saying, CHS has never beaten FHS since you have been following the team for the last 3 or 4 years. That really puts you way up there as following this program. I was there when the school started so you are telling us that when we were there, it really didn't matter because YOU weren't following the team? What a JOKE! Good luck to both teams on Friday night.

    SEC Players

He would have if they would PAY him for his services
  11. From what I hear, CHS has 7 players they are losing this year. I think BHS has 1 player that they are losing. So, looking at the roster with a Senior-clad club with a top Senior pitcher, I would say CHS is the favorite. Both teams have found a way to win but I believe BHS can make a change if needed in the pitching rotation to change things up, don't think CHS can. So as long as both teams are in the game, probably won't see much change at pitching today. Anybody's guess? The weather may win if it rains like it did yesterday
  12. Sportsmanship, I guess that includes shaking hands when the game is over, win or lose. Back when I used to play, that used to be automatic. Let's see what happens in this game. Hope the administration is looking-
  13. Indian, The reporter did just state what the coach said, however the coach happened to be Coach Kirk, not Beech's. It must have been a great game & congratulations to the Bucs who have it going with a shot at Red Bank. SD will end up playing for the who knows how many times against Red Bank or will catch Beech again in the finals of Consolation. What a great tourney!
  14. Thanks frhspurplefan. Looks like Nashville didn't even put a bid on the 'fling. Hope you have a good time this week, but you should have stuck to your guns, if you had umpired this year, you probably would be one of the umps! Good luck to FR & all Mid-TN Teams.
  15. Kristi & Danielle are 2 of the top pitchers to have pitched in this area. I have a good feeling that they will meet 1 more time or maybe even twice which will mean the championship game for it all. Both teams are lucky to have great coaches & best wishes to all of you making it to Mississippi. They have had a great career & we wish both of these pitchers well at the next level.
  16. Good job Rtyree1122, with that being said, it's probably time for this thread to be locked! Good luck to all the teams in Middle Tennessee- All The Way To State!
  17. Well said Gator. I know you have had a great career & have been through all the same trials & shortcomings. The game is played and McGavock won the game because they wanted it more. Sure BHS wanted to win, but when 'ole Mo changed and you have to live with it. Bleacherbum has stirred the pot, but I guess your child has never pitched in big games or for big programs to know how it feels. I guarantee if the tables were turned, you wouldn't want this board to bashing your child because she dropped a ball, which doesn't mean that player is not a good player. Get on with something else and support the other teams that have had a great year. Lincoln Co had a great year & it's over. Last year it was Riverdale. A couple of years ago it was G'Pasture, but don't think these teams lost because of poor coaching. But Riverdale is back & look out because someone is going to have to get in their way or Coach Jeff will be in the hunt. Next year, it may be BHS. Good Luck to all teams left playing.

    12-AAA

I know there hasn't been too much talk but who's going to win the game & be champions of 12-AAA
  19. Megan Rhodes broke the career mark last year with over 2,100 K's I believe.
  20. Bigchief, Congratulations on your season this year. This was the most competitive team I have seen in awhile & playing with the big boys in 11AAA. Best of luck & keep plugging away. I'm proud of the way you have played. And when you lose, it's hard to take, but you lose with class which some teams aren't even close. Good Luck! thumb

    Raptors coming

So congratulations to Centennial, from what I read, they beat Lincoln Co in previous years & their JV team beat their JV team this year. So down the road, their varsity should be able to also. That's always good to know. STD, I pretty much agree. Sounds kind of suspicious but doubt it. I remember Forest beating Goodpasture a couple of years ago in a big upset when most of those girls were Fresh/Soph's, so I guess that means they will again this year, doubt IT!! Go Lincoln Co!
  22. I may be reading something into it, but looking over this thread, talking about Freshmen & Sophmores deserving the recognition. I think there are more Freshman & Sophmore parents writing on this board & I wish more would write about players & teams that you have seen vs. an agenda to build up your on daughter. They are good & deserve their props, let's just give them all time to prove themselves & enjoy what they are doing. Good Luck to all as the season wines down & tournament picks up the tempo. Hope all of you get your wish but only 1 team from each classification will win.
