I could just as easily insert your son's name into the scenarios you have presented. region4fan, did you attend Utopia High School? I agree with TDC man. If you can't beat the guy at the top on the field, just keep chipping away at the soft underbelly. Attack a high school player's character without nowing the facts. You keep mentioning Ralph King. Has it ever occurred to you that he might have been resource? Or that he worked hard in the classroom? Ever heard of special education? I don't know if that's the case or not and if I did know I would not reveal that on here. Just remember, you're talking about KIDS. Ralph is an adult now, yes, and is playing at MTSU. Maybe a pat on the back for him for at least working hard to get himself eligible. You represent Oakland, right? Has everything been perfect there? You mentioned BA....why not Oakland? And why didn't your son go to BA? (Who have definitely had their share of problems too, BTW)

What were your grades and ACT scores, region4fan? Or are they common knowledge?

I think there can be a distinct difference between "D-1" or "SEC" prospect and a really good high school football player. I've seen big linemen recruited not for how good they are but how big they are. John Batey at Riverdale was as fine a high school player as anyone could want. Only problem, being 5-10 and 195 lbs and not being able to run a 4.5 really hampers your chances at the "big time". Case in point - Last year's lincoln Co. team had the two good tackles. Divens was the bigger and passed the "look test" a lot more than Horrocks did. But you snap the ball and Horrocks was a freakin' animal. Who got Mr. Football and all the clippings? Divens.

I've seen both teams this year, Coffee is not the same ole team we have witnessed in the past. Price has done a remarkable job this past year. It sure helps when you bring a kid like Nunley with you. With that said, I believe Smyrna is too athletic for Coffee this year. I also agree that Coffee will contend for the region title next season. Smyrna 35 Coffee 14

Oak Ridge has had some great teams decade after decade. What team did the 1980 team beat in the title game?

There were several bowls 15 plus years ago until they changed the classifications. Now all you need is a pulse and 2 or 3 region wins minimum and you're playoff bound
