  1. ...o wait, that would forfeit my amateur status or something.... so if your in memphis on the day of state, well have to meet and "not" bet on it.
  2. Ill raise it 10 and take the bet
  3. that's right... look out for gj... he's been 50. in the 400 and he was 51.1 i think earlier this week at the fra-cpa-ehs-fcs meet. i don't think anybody wants to get in his way. I almost had him....I was a close second..............by 4 seconds. Yea, hes really fast
  4. Brian Bakers my neighbor, but hes never home, so I guess that cancels out free lessons.
  5. Like I said, Bumbi will tripple, just wait, well find out whos right in 2 months here, but you are making a serious mistake thinking his tired legs will keep him from winning the 800...
  6. You may not believe me since Ive been less than serious in the past, but track and cross country is what I do, and I love everything about it. I spend time on the boards every day just to learn what I can about the sport. Again, I know I got banned in the past, but that was for recomending another running message board- which I also check regularly. Anyway, Id love to help moderate if thats a position available to me.
  7. yes, and in that same meet, FRA won as a team 122-61 over CPA, with ehs and fcs in third and fourth
  8. You do know that drinking and posting is against the law, right?
  9. I tohught I was done but I saw this. I can sit here right now and say with 100% certainty in my mind that Bumbi will tripple. I know who else is out there and I know hes going to be tired from the 16 and 32, but if you dont think he can tripple, you havent seen him race/ raced against him enough. Its already over....
  10. I guess he didnt run in the CPA-FRA meet today? or maybe he was so fast I didnt notice him... And, runthe800, I bet he was joking. Remember the Sandlot quote "I thought you said that great Bambi!" yea, thats where I think he was coming from, but maybe Im wrong- I hope not....
  11. I am, and this marks the fifth separate thread in which my name/screen name has appeared in the title. I cant decide whether to be flattered or worried, but at least this one was friendly.....
  12. Well, if youre serious- http://www.laxrules.com/
  13. Goodness, did you read my post? I never said 5'8 was bad, just that it doesnt compare with his other two marks, showing that hes obviously weaker in high jump. Apparently what I shouldve said was "good job way to go, youre perfect, dont work on anything" but would that have told him how to be a better all around athlete?
  14. the long and tripple jumps are really good this early, but the high jump mark doesnt match up with the others. If youre wanting to compete in high jump or decathalon, you should probably work on high jump more...
  15. Unless Whittier gets slower as the season progresses, hes the favorite. Daniel Jones was not holding back in his first race. He ran just a few seconds ahead of last years 3rd place sectional 3200 placer, Romell Glatten. It was definately a race, so he was holding back just as much as Whittier- and if Spencer was holding back, look out. As for the first few rankings, I was particularly amused at the lack of the 4straight CC and 3straight Track team champions...
  16. Im trying to remember the last time FRA was "dominated" by CPA in basketball.... They beat them 4 straight times, but never by more than ten. In fact, every game Ive watched against CPA since 8th grade has been a good matchup. So, unless football is the only sport that matters to you, the FRA CPA rivalry is pretty competitive, if not in FRAs favor.
  17. Ask Summertown how the fast paced game worked for them against FRA. If you try to force a fast pace vs FRA, youre going to end up very frustrated, and most teams play worse when the game isnt going like they want it. Unaka is going to have to understand that they need to not rely on their fast pace if they want to win this game.
  18. How about college basketball's all-time leading scorer- former FRA rebel John Pierce? Hard to argue with the stats...
  19. WHY I CANT BELIEVE THAT YOUD POST THAT MU..........no, not going to flame you. Good post! I know what you mean- everytime someone tries to start a thread about distance runners - even if its about A/AA or AAA, the thread automattically becomes about Bumbi.
  20. Ive been called a lot of things, but I must say Im flattered to be named "Miss Cleo" Hopefully youre right and its close- it makes for more exciting basketball. Im not a CPA fan, so itd definately help my teams bid if they got knocked out, Im just saying I dont see a way for CPA to lose. Im going to be out of town for that game, but Ill be able to see the whole lower part of the bracket starting with FRA/Unaka at 2- I cant wait. Its going to be a good tournament.
  21. I dont know anything about AAA, but I was just wondering if underdog was spelled like in the title (underdawg) or like in the post (underdogg)
  22. You may not say CPA had an advantage, but that would be out of your good sportsmanship by not making excuses, not out of your beliefs. If you support the TSSAA's decision on public v. private, you have to think private schools have and advantage. Its absolutely ridiculous to think that any DI private school has an advantage in recruiting over a public school. In my opinion, private schools have, in general, more motivated athletes and better allure for coaches and thats why theyre good. Its absurd to think that a team like CPA is good because of recruiting. Please, stop making excuses. When private schools are gone, all thats going to do is make it even harder for public schools to draw talent beacuse a split means all private schools can give scholarships, making it more likely an athlete will choose private. Public schools are making things worse for themselves by trying to fix things the wrong way. Improve state schooling, dont remove the competition!
  23. FRAs never been to the state tournament, but if we were betting on it, Id take a 10 point spread any day. The games going to be close no matter who wins it. There will be quarters where a team wont even score 10 points, much less get that far ahead.
