  1. Rockwoods in for a huge surprise regardless of whether CPA plays defense in man, zone, or not at all. All this confidence in Rockwood is staggering. The game isnt going to be close. Its already over folks
  2. how about that was the most ignorant post ive ever seen in my entire life. DI= no recruit and no exceptions. If you want to whine about how your public school cant compete, look at the coaches and the quality of TN public schools (48th in nation), not the players or the administration. theres no recruiting, give it up. Even if there was, it isnt doing any good obviously, there are 4 private schools and 4 public schools in murfreesboro (sounds even to me)
  3. lets look at it this way. last year, FRA's 1,2,3,4,5, and 6th best CC runners didnt run the 4x8. some played soccer, some ran open events. this year, #s 1,2,3,5, and 6 runners from CC are all competing for spots on the 4x8. Lipscomb is used to winning, so theyll have the advantage, but FRA is going to be deep in distance like always. the only difference is that theyll put more priority on the 4x8 than they have in the past.
  4. heres a brief history of FRAs current senior class' new students for you: 12th grade year--> 0 new students 11th --> 2 new students (neither play any sports) 10th --> 3 new students (1 basketball starter, 2 new girls- 1 throws for track) 9th --> several new students (none play basketball, one is a cheerleader, 2 ran cross country) 8th --> we expanded the grade a little, so theres a few athletes (1 in football, a couple in baseball, but none basketball) 7th --> I was one of 4 new students, and I can garauntee I was admitted based soley on academics. So, since Ive outlined how we enter new students for you, where did we enter people based on athletics? where are the ones whos parents sent them to FRA for sports? Our top 6 basketball players go like this- PG=transfer from MBA (didnt steal him from public or whatever your whining about) SG= been here since prek, SF= been here since prek, PF=been here since prek, C= moved here in 10th grade from NC, obviously not because of basketball since we were 4-28 the year before he came. 6th man= been here since prek. and for that matter, our next senior has also been at FRA since prek. Unless you think DI private school pick out the cream of the crop when theyre in elementary school, theres no way private can be accused of recruiting better athletes. They are better coached. Tennessee public schools are ranked 48th in the nation and it shows through in athletics. Refine the school system, but dont separate. The TSSAA is trying to cure the symptoms rather than the disease.
  5. Andrew House is the only senior starter. The other 4 starters are juniors. Austin Hobgood transferred from Ezell-Harding last year. Chris White, who plays a lot as a reserve, do not play basketball last year. house is already a senior? wow, Im a senior too and it seems like yesterday when he was in 6th grade and i was in 4th at the same school? what is he, 19 or 20?
  6. who all has spring break next week? i know FRA and CPA do. thatll hurt fan support for sure. i may be the only fra fan there.
  7. Yea, itd be terrible if these four private school were coincidentally better than the 4 public schools theyre up against....Isnt it obvious that private has a clear advantage? Seriously though, they pay to go to school- that obviously makes them better at athletics......
  8. Rockwood.... beat....CPA? Rockwood......Gold Ball? Im confused, wheres the logic?
  9. BHSfootball and Passinggame1, You are both obviously football fans, and Im glad youve branched out a bit, but at least dont pretend like you know what youre talking about. This post clearly states that Brentwood will be good because of Bumbi and other good distance runners. If you were any kind of running fan at all, youd know who Bumbi was and youd know he ran fro Brentwood Academy, not Brentwood High, so maybe it isnt below them...?
  10. This threads ridiculous, I was going to have a long post here, but its really not worth the effort. Maybe SHS couldve won if certain things went right, but the fact is, they didnt and FRA shut every aspect of SHS's game plan down and they got run out of their own gym. The games over, give it up, let the board be used by the teams who are still playing, please, this is getting ridiculous and both sides are getting out of hand.
  11. oops, apparently, when you have a "B" followed by a ")" you get a
  12. OK, im getting lost, so heres what Ive gathered so far- a recap if you will: - Summertown wouldve killed us if A) they shot like they did in region, they shot like they did in district, C) they shot like they did in the regular season - FRA played dirty because one of our guys tripped an SHS player late in the game after it was out of reach, therefore costing SHS a chance at a comeback - If SHS wouldnt have panicked and shot 3s (AKA "their game plan") they wouldve killed FRA - this is baseketball's thread - Baseketball "dented FRA's perfect flowers on my pansies." - "And there was 28 real fouls" - grammer issues aside, what denotes a fake foul? Did I miss anything?
  13. yea, im sorry, I mustve forgotten to RSVP. Ill be more courteous in your conversations next time..
  14. hmm, Bellevue and the middle of nowhere alike, sarcasm is completely lost on you. sorry if I confused you...
  15. so ur tellin me that FRA is a disciplined team...?? #5 (for FRA wasnt that disciplined) he was pushing and shoving ashton white..... thats not too disciplined... and that blond headed guy who came in at the end, (i think #1) he was also kinda physical to be a "disciplined player", one time he floored number 5 for summertown, that is not what i call a disciplined team........ but i will have to say that #13 was a disciplined player, he kept his cool all through the game... if by #1 you mean #11, and if by pushed over youre talking about that time when the SHS guy tripped over a pick and all the intelligent fans at SHS got up and booed (by the way, the game was a blowout by then anyway), then yes we were very undisciplined. But if you define discipline by the ability to handle the ball for a long time looking for a good shot without turning it over in the midst of one of the loudest crowds weve ever faced, then FRA is very disciplined. Good post
  16. isnt bearden AAA? if so, isnt that irrelevant?
  17. the funny thing is, they did dominate the post. Maybe you werent there, but your one tall guy who looks like #11 on our team scored 1 or 2 times in the paint- other than that, he did very little. Our red headed center blocked about 5 shots and we probably outscored SHS by 5 to ten times in the paint....and yes FRA can shoot free throws- one more reason to play smart D rather than Hard D.
  18. lol, that may have been the funniest form of defense Ive ever seen. SHS fans, be sure to ask number 5 what in the world he was doing. He literally had his eyes on the floor and was navigating by feeling where our guy was going using the top of his head. I wish more people would play D like that, because eventually the refs will call it, and also, the guy he was guarding got a ton of rebounds and he was about the 8th tallest guy on the floor. Summertown, Ill give you that you played solid defense for the first quarter, but then you seemed to either get tired of chasing and headbutting or FRA just started playing better....
  19. Theres no way he's 6'8". Maybe in the media guide, but then in the media guide, our point guard is listed as 5'9" so we all know how that goes......
  20. what are you talking about? did you watch the game or listen to it on the radio. If you listened, you didnt get a good idea, so heres a fill-in for you: Every time the announcer said "Summertown puts up a three", what was actually happening was one of several things- heres the list: 1. SHS drove into the paint and had a good layup look but chose to throw it out for a rushed three. 2. SHS took a good luck for three, which gives them about a 35-40% chance of scoring- theyre a pretty good shooting team when theyre open. 3. FRA had 3 guys in 24's face and he still shot the ball, usually coming no wehere near. 4. SHS drove in but then thought better of after seeing 3 guys close the lane, so turned around, dribbled behind the arc, and threw up a fadeaway 3 with a guy in their face. or 5. (this is my favorite)- they ran their offense until they got an "open" look literally from behind the goal for three right up against the baseline (i think that happened 3 times)- Id give them that shot all night. All in all, theres no way any team is going to beat FRA playing like that. CPA and NCS do similar things and had good success, but NCS actually takes good 3s and CPA actually takes layups. SHS doesnt play basketball, they play gotcha from the 3point line. I dont know how they got that far, unless of course they just played like that last night. They got lucky for one streak in the fourth, but FRAs size and speed was too much and they couldnt get any open looks all night. So, its not because they shot bad, its because they took bad shots.
  21. Wait.......are you serious......? I play for FRA, and you guys didnt even have a full team last year, or even a single player who seemed to have ever seen a raquet. You guys are pretty funny............
  22. Im pretty sure it was 1:55, but it might have been 1:56.... Its kinda ironic that thats his "weakest" event.....
  23. Maybe Ill be wrong in about 4 hours here, but explain to me how Wayne County is going to beat CPA. Unless they have a 7 footer Im unaware of, I think itll be a blowout. Ive only seen CPA have trouble against teams like GoodPasture with at least one tall post, where they cant drive inside and either draw fouls or throw it back out for a three...
