  1. Remember the Titans is an awesome movie yeah, but you have to see Friday Night Lights to see the best football movie ever. Very emotional and exactly how it is in a small town with their program, minus all the crazy drunks.
  2. Somebody that saw the Fulton/Smith Co. game help me with something that is bothering me. I saw in the papper that smith Co. had 40+ plays in the first half and Fulton had 6, true or not? If thats the case then that means Fulton was manhandled in the first half and that means they "could" get abused like that again on Saturday. Smith Co. shot themselves in the foot with all the turnovers and it sounds like Smith Co. should be coming to Murfreesboro instead of Fulton. If Fulton can't generate any offense against GB Saturday then they are toast. Just stick a fork in 'em. When GB gets up on you they turn the dogs loose. You can look at there schedule, if you dare, and see that the good QB/WR combo were shut down by GB. Ask Lipscomb's combo. Hey, a pick sealed the game on Friday night. Opposing QBs have a hard time throwing to WRs when they have to run for their lives and it causes mistakes. So somebody that is, in the know, tell me if it's correct that Fulton had 6 plays last Friday in the first half.
  3. I keep hearing posters talking about JSS's defense and team speed but GB has one of the best defenses in 3A and held teams like David Lipscomb and Ky power Fort Campbell to less than 2 TD's. This team flys all over the place itself. Last week when we made some bonehead plays and through INTS McNairy Center players had wide open paths to the endzone and were run down, FROM BEHIND, twice. Teams think they can get to the corner and find themselfs run out of bounds. Their front line comes through and chases back down, from behind. There is no escape from this team. You may have something that works for a while but the coaching staff will figure it out and plug that hole. How many ex-division 1 players does JSS have on the side with them coaching. GB has 4. That experience means alot. You can talk about all the speed JSS has but GB will come with their on speed and it'll be a fun night.
  4. Ok, lets look common opponents with region 6 and see how that lands. GB beat Montgomery Central 42-6 Reg6 beat Mont. Central 49-0 That's plus 13 Region 6 GB beat Page 17-13 Reg6 beat Page 10-3 That's plus 4 Region 6 GB beat McNairy Central 42-6 Reg6 beat McNairy Central 14-13 That's plus 21 GB GB beat Marshall Co. 23-13 & 35-0 and MC beat Lexington 31-20 That's plus 34 GB If you add that up it's GB-55 - Region 6-19 and since JSS is the only one left I guess that'll be the final score. When you look at it like that I may make the trip all the way to Jackson after all.
  5. GO BOBCATS!!!! It's great that Jacob will be back but how much he will play and offence or defence when he does is also a big question. We need him at QB for his leadership and playmaking. A couple of the plays that against Giless Co. last week that were bum plays and turnovers, Jacob would have turned into TDs. When you get past him at QB the experience and skill drops. He has such a great mind for the game and sees it different than most. I hope that GB gets up early and they get to rest Jacob, Roger and the others. It sacred me last week when Roger was still playing late in that game and should have been on teh bench cheering. One dumb, bad play and he could be wearing a brace or worse. I don't think MC has played a defensive line that will pressure their quarterback like GB's will. There will be a "PAIN-TRAIN" with the #59 on it just looking for a reason to steamroller a quarterback. Lipscomb had a great QB and wide receiver combo that couldn't get untracked. Sycamore may have the best QB in Josh Garza that was running for his life. Only White House has had success with the pass against GB and that's because they are probably one of the best 5 of 4A. It's gonna be great FB weather Friday so bundle up and------ "LET'S GET READY TO RRRRUMBLE!!!!!"
  6. From what I hear, McNairy would have won some of those tight games if it weren't for a poor kicking game. I think that Greenbrier has this one, but only if they stay focused and play typical Greenbrier football. It may turn out closer than some may like though.
  7. You got to vote for the kicker for the #2-AAA team in the state Greenbrier, Christopher Tucker. He's 49-51 in pat's and 7-9 on field goals. His longest this year is 42. He's had 3 games where he was the difference in the game. He won the accuracy competition at the kicking camp at MTSU with 18-18 from 40 and in and 3-4 from 50 and 1-2 from 60. He also won the accuracy competition at the Rob Pelfrey kicking camp. At this camp they kick at the goal post and move back until somebody misses. For his career he is 95-103 for pat's and 13-18 on feild goals. He was perfect last year through the playoffs and that includes a 2 overtime game in the semifinals and 2 feild goals and 4 pat's in the quarterfinals. He be perfect all the way to Murfreesboro this year. His kickoff always are inside the 5 yard line or end zone, unless, his coach makes him do a "pooch" kick that he can put anywhere on the field.
  8. Guys, I'm telling you to don't read the paper and think that GC's coach isn't gonna have his team fired up and ready for us. He know just what he's doing. Why else would he make this statement. I can bet you he's not a quitter. This is their bowl game, their playoff game. For them, it's all the marbles. It'll be the last game for most of their players and they'll be pumped. The last few games we have come out some flat at the begining of the game and had to get smacked around some to get started. We can't do that this week. If we let them get "MO" on there side, at home, then we'll have to share the region championship. That's not we want. We want to go up early and by a bunch. We need to rest our big guns for the playoffs and letting GC stay in this game won't let us do that. We need to be ready when we get off the bus and rock their workk from the opening kickoff. GO BIG GREEN!!!!
  9. You got to vote for the kicker for the #2-AAA team in the state Greenbrier, Christopher Tucker. He's 49-51 in pat's and 7-9 on field goals. His longest this year is 42. 10. Way to go PC Football. Being from PC but Living in Greenbrier I happy to see that FB is FINALLY catching on and being sucessful. I always knew that PC had the atheletes to compete in FB if you could get them away from the B-ball court. Guys, get in the weight room, year round, that's the only way to be a success on the FB field. My boys play at Greenbrier and they hit the weight room like demons. Greenbrier has either a 1st or 2nd place finisher in all the county and region lift offs. See where that has them #2 in the state for 3A. I've been down to see the junior pros play and you've got some good talent and experience coming from that that will carry on with the success.
  11. All of the Seniors at Greenbrier appreciate the support that the community gives them. My son is a senior on the team. Unfortunately though, the roster is not accurate. #90 Wade Taylor is not a senior. He is a freshman. Again thanks for the support and dedication that yall have shown them over the past four years.
  12. Somebody needs to give a look at the Greenbrier kicker. He's already won one game with his foot, Fort Campbell(13-7). He's 26-28 on PAT's and 4-6 for field goals. Unfortunately, he doesn't get to kick many field goals cuz their offense is so strong they almost always score TD's or they're so far ahead that they don't need FG's. On kickoffs he can make the ball do backflips if he wants and he can go to the end zone. The opposing team don't know what's coming next. He made 4-6 from outside 50 yards at a kicking camp competition this summer and worked with UT's Wilhoit.
  13. Greenbrier's kicker #45, Tucker, has shown he's in the hunt for best kicker. He's perfect last week against a tough Crockett team and only had one kick that was returnable and on that one he made the tackle that saved a TD. Hasn't had to kick much this year because Greenbrier scores mostly TDs. He also called the block pat against Crockett. He said that Diaz was too slow getting too the ball, sure nuf, he was a they blocked his first try and almost blocked the second. his range is about 45 yards and is very accurate. Look for him to be a factor the rest of the way this season. GO CATS.

Thanks, Riverrat. As far as I'm concerned the 2 Sycamore/Greenbrier games were a warmup and "THE" 3A championship game. Garza deserved a Mr. Football nomination he's the best athlete we played against this year. Why didn't they let him keep the ball on the 2 point converstion? We couldn't stop him. Good luck next year and it'll be a great game then, too. GO BOBCATS.

    crockett co

From a Greenbrier fans perspective, I think Crockett has some of the best fans in Tennessee High School football. For all ya'll to travel 4+ hours to sit in our less than comfortable stand and support your team is great. Ya'll were LOUD. I wish all ya'll luck and success teh reat of this year and look forward to see you next year. Let's make this a home and home tradition from now on, whadda you say?
  16. I agree with most on this board that GBTsenior needs to HUSH. We've had some great posts all week and a great game in the 'Brier. Both teams are to be saluted for their great season and a hard fought game. The fans should be saluted for their support of their teams. Good luck to everyone from Crockett and all players that are injured. Ignore the trash posts and cheer for the Bobcats next week. GO BOBCATS
  17. Crockett Co. 21 - Greenbrier 22 Per The Nashville Tennessean
  18. Ladies and Gentlemen. NEWS FLASH The Nashville Tennessean Sports guy predicts the Crockett Co./Greenbrier score to be Crockett Co. 21 - Greenbrier 22. YEAH!!!!! GO BOBCATS
  19. Hey, Sycamore has noting to hang their head about. What a game!!!! They were fighting till the end and Garza is some kinda Athlete!!!! Next year scares me cuz he's back, but Greenbrier has Herndon back too. You know, I think I may have dated a relative of Garza's in college. Her name was Laura Garza and the college was Freed Hardeman. That would be weird cuz my son is the kicker for Greenbrier who's kick were major important in this game. Good luck to all.
  20. Come on now, the Best game Friday WILL be Greenbrier/Crockett Co. Really 2 Mr. Football Finalist in the same game facing each other. 2 of the best teams in 3A or the state. Last year Crockett won by stopping Greenbrier on a 2 point conversion in the playoffs. Man, this game will be huge. The winner WILL go on to win the Championship. Nobody else can top this excitment, really. GO BOBCATS
  21. This is gonna be the best game of the week, this week. 2 Mr. football finalist, 2 of the best teams in 3A or the state, a packed house on Friday night, what else could you want? This WILL be the toughest game for both teams and I hope the winner goes on to win it ALL!!!!!!!!!! GO BOBCATS
  22. To be overrated or not overrated that is the question. There is no doubt that Crockett Co. has a good team but this Friday, in Greenbrier, WILL be their biggest and toughest test. I think that Page was one break from taking teh game from Crockett, at their house. They have to come into the den of the mighty BOBCATS this week and they won't leave without some claw marks and scratches. This is gonna be a great game with 2 of the best players in 3A and/or the state in Herndon and Williams. This is a football games not to be missed and the stadium will be full and the house will be rockin'. If just hope we have a clean game that the officials stay out of and nobody gets hurt. I think this will be Crockett's biggest test and probably Greenbrier's. I just hope it doesn't come to another last play goal line stand again. We've had enough. Good luck to everybody. I can't wait. Get there early to get a good seat.
  23. Does anybody else out there hear the fear in the post coming from 6-AAA region? Wow, you bring up a few hard facts about there whimps they play during the year to make their record look good and they get all defensive. Lets just hope they save alittle of that defense for Friday night and the 1st round of the playoffs aren't blow outs against them. Man, just becasue the #1 team in that region's opponents have an average record of 3-6 doesn't mean that they aren't that good just not tested, I guess. Guys, don't sweat it, IF your good, it'll show, but, if you really did play a bunch of pansies, that'll show too. GO REGION 5
  24. The problem with these 6-AAA teams is the Fatten up on JV teams in the regular season and lay down in the playoffs. This year 5-AAA is lean and tough from playing payoff teams during the season and is coming in hungry and will feast on 6-AAA pork. Greenbrier plays 7 playoff teams in their regular season schedule. Do ya'll have anybody that can say that? I didn't think so. The other 3 5-AAA playoff teams average 5 playoff teams in their regular season slate, YOU? Don't think so. In 5-AAA we be saying - WHERE'S THE PORK? 6-AAA YEAH!!!!!
  25. I'm sure that the songs will be sung on the bus ride back to Lewisburg and the crying in the stands in Crockett Co. The MC coaches are even bringing a Karaoka machine for the ride home and the celerbration. When you play a bunch of JV teams during the regular season then it's touch when you lose in the playoffs to the #4 team from a real Region. Go Region 5.
