What's the static on the Woodard kid, he seemed to be getting better each game. Hard nose player that can help this team against 2-A teams.

I hear they will be much improved, they have some great players returning also. This is going one tough region.

What about Marion Co, they could turn a few heads this year and next. If the fans will let Pruiett (i think thats his name) do his job they could have a heck of a year. R Smith, Braggs, Kinsey, Sowder are all outstanding players returning this year. The talk of Boyd and Tyner being a battle may be true but i think Marion Co and Boyd will be a war.

I hate to hurt your feelings but i must tell you that the AP all state selection is not based on one game, if it was Patrick Turner and several more outstanding players would have not made it. Why can't some people give credit where credit is due. Also if Wooden didn't make the first team he surely should have made the second team based on his stats for the second half of the season. My opinion only.

Peardon did play in every game but 75% of the games he only played two quarters or one series in the third quarter and some of those games he only had 12 or so carries, also DCA region may be far superior but the games outside the region that Boyd played is far superior than any 1-A team that i've seen by far.

No one can because the best back and the best lineman won, hands down!

I am sure this years winner would gladly give his Mr Football award and his offensive MVP award from last years state game for ANOTHER Gold Ball, why can't people give credit where credit is due. The Mr Football nomination and the state championship have nothing in common other than a young man from each team is a Mr Football winner and both deserve it.

Matt Peardon Boyd Buchanan, over 5000 yard rushing in 3 years, 80+ tds, broke Chattanooga city scoring record held by Gerald Riggs Jr (runningback at UT) he has 2210 yds and 37 tds so far this year and up for Mr Football award to be presented 11/29 at Operyland Hotel. Good luck MATT.

I agree Matt should be Mr football by a landslide but Sweeny is a great QB with impressive numbers. What worries me is TSSAA headquarters location and FCA location. There's a lot of homecooking in that area, also Matt has a few schools to decide on, but he's looking at what's best for him and his family. He really wants to play for a div.1 school but he doesn't want to sit on the beach for 2-3 years, where at a smaller school it could play a lot sooner. He was at Carson-Newman last Sat. and was really impressed with their running game and he will be visting Tn Tech next Sat.

This is the year FCA goes to the big dance, i don't see anyone stopping their passing attack. Plus a pretty good defense, this could be their year.

Little ole 1-A Boyd Buchanan shut him down to only 5 catches for 85 yards and 1td and won the game 42-21. One good hit and he is history for the rest of the night.
