  1. Everybody is saying it will be a low scoring ball game. I just don't see it that way. I believe Eagleville has to many weapons. Three good runningbacks with different styles and three good receivers with good speed. I would be surprise if they don't score at least 20 pts. Now MTCS might score that many too I just don't know. I believe they will try to grind it out with that good rb they have. I'm really impressed with the arm of the Eaglevilles qb, very strong. A shoot out would benefit the Eagles. Eagles win 27-20. Go Eagles
  2. Give me your thoughts and predictions on this game. I t should be a great game. Both teams are greatly improve over last year. With home field advantage I expect the Eagles to win in a close one. The Eagles balanced offensive attack should give them an advantage over the run dominated offense of MTCS. It could be a high scoring ball game. GO EAGLES
  3. Next week MTCS plays Eagleville at Eagleville. MTCS will not have the advantage of the home field (home cooking} Just kidding I wasn't even at the game last night. Congradulations to MTCS. It should be a great game next week. I do pick the Eagles to win in a close one.
  4. Sure, whatever, the fact is you were dominated upon by a 1a team and I'm sure half of your starteres were not out. Both teams had starters out due to injury that is part of the game. Team depth is a big indication of the strength of your team. So you are saying that C.C. has no depth. I agree.
  5. I know nothing about Sequatchie Co. but I did see C.C. play Eagleville in a jamboree. Other than the first drive and Eagleville having a hard time adjusting to qick snaps by C.C. Canon Co. had a rough day against a 1a team. Eagleville first team scored on every possession and won 3-1. Eagleville's 2nd and 3rd teamers did struggle some but the first team passed and ran pretty much anything they wanted to. After the C.C. first drive Eagleville shut them down. Either Eagleville is very good or C.C is not very good. C.C. did have one good RB but there team spead was much slower than Eagleville.
  6. I never took any of your comments negative just stating s fact. I knew from your statement you saw only the second period of the game so that why I shared with you that very few of our starters played in the second period. Did Forrest have their second teamers in when yall scored both of your tds. I like you did not see the first part of your game. The backs I saw in the second period of your game were very quick and elusive which ones are your starters. Did your your starting qb play in the 2nd period. It should be a good year for region 5.
  7. Cannon County is actually a pretty good team. Eagleville starters did not play any in the second period. Eagleville's line is probably bigger than any line that they have ever had most of them are 250 plus. Of course size does not really mean that much. Eagleville best off. line was in 2005 and they only had one player over 210 lbs. I thought the offense looked realy good, the first team offense scored on every possession. The defense struggled in the first series due to quick snaps by the Cannon Co. offense but after the first series they shut them down. I think the Eagles have playoff potential. Cannon Co. scrimmaged Mt. Pleasant and from my understanding they held their own.
  8. Coach Scharsch did an awesome job putting the football program together at Eagleville. I know of no Coach that worked harder than Coach Scharsch. My son played for him for four years and it was a great four years(2002-2005) Coach Scharsch will do a great job at Spring Hill, he has a great work ethic. The new coach is the former off. coordinator at Smyrna, Coach Carson. I hear good things about him and I'm sure he will do a good job also. GO EAGLES
  9. Eagleville has definitely had their own struggles since 2005. It should be a close game. Hopefully the Eagles can pull it out. I haven't seen them practice or scrimage this year. But I hear they are looking good, they played well in their scrimage against FRA WINNING 3=2 giving up 2 long passes. Who has MTCS scrimmaged and how did they look, any details.
  10. For several years Smyrna has had some of the best talent in the state of Tenn. They had athletes sign with Tenn. Vanderbuilt and others. His coaching has been good but his players have been great. The fact is your athletes at MTCS are fair to midlin. He also had an awesome off. coordinator who is now with a rival school. Every school in region 5 has improved with the exception of Cascade which lost a lot to graduation but still a very good team and probably playoff bound. I just don't see MTCS making the playoffs this year. Region 5 is much too tough. I know you will say that you don't have to have great athletes in 1a football but the fact is at least 6 region 5 teams will have better athletes and footballs players than MTCS, it does make a difference. Next year after reclassification MTCS will have a good shot at the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong. I hope you win every game but Eagleville. GO EAGLES
  11. It sounds like the Champions are just one year away. I will still pick Forrest over Cascade. Forrest strength should be in their very big offensive line. Plus Cascade seldom has more than 2 good years in a roll. Of course your 2 good teams in a roll is better than our one good team that we have had in our history of H.S. Football.
  12. Simply referring to every poll that I have seen. They could be right Cascade has been very good the last few years. But I do know that they have lost a lot of starters. I had the privilege of watching the 2005 Freshman Rockets, they were very good and many of them are on this years Forrest team. That is why I pick them second.
  13. Eagleville could be a surprise team this year in Region 5. Jo Bryns should win it all but the rest of the spots should be up for grabs. Everybody is picking Cascade to challenge JoBryns but I just don't see it. They lost too much to graduation. If I was going to pick a second place team it would be the Rockets. I believe their senior class when they were freshmen were undefeated. Getting back to the Eagles what qb looked the best, both are very capable. Since 2005 the O and D lines have been shaky, how did they look. Any info would be appreciated. I haven't been to see them practice this year.
  14. Any news about Eagleville football? Did they stay home for camp or did they go elsewhere? Any info would be appreciated.
  15. This year I doubt that they will make the playoffs but with the new alignment next year they will probably have a shot. Region 5 is too tough this year. Not enough athletes to make the playoffs. The other former Smyrna coach will have his team in the playoffs before MTCS. More athletes and talent, of course that is my opinion and I have been wrong before just ask my wife. Good Luck MTCS except when you play Eagleville.
  16. Cory Nelson played WR last year, he did miss a few games due to some displinary action last year. I don't believe he played any QB last year. Adams came in and started after the other QB had disciplinary problems. I believe the Eagles will get the ball into Nelsons hands as much as possible at WR and RB. He is the best break away threat we we have had since Steagall in 2005. He is also a very good basketball player. He was the 6thman/ starter on the Eagle's State playoff team last year. Very fast and quick but not a lot of size, very similar to Steagall.
  17. The new coach is the former offensive coordinator of the state champions Smyrna Bulldogs.
  18. I was just pushing a button. Yall have had some very good teams the past few years. You have the right to speak up all you want. I would like to hear frrom the other teams though. I guess when your team wins a lot you have more people who like to speak up. Come on Eagle fans, give us some news about our football team.
  19. Maybe on this thread we will have more talk about other 5a teams other than Cascade and Jo Byrns. Believe it or not there are some other very good teams in the region. I know WHH, Forrest and Eagleville all looked good in spring scrimmages. MTCS and Eagleville have new coaches who I think will do a good job this year. Both teams could challenge for a playoff spot. In the new allignment what teams stay 1a ? I believe Jo Byrns, Eagleville, McEwen, MTCS, Clarksville Academy and Nashville Christian are the teams in the region who will stay 1a in the 2009 alignment, everybody else moves up to 2a. My playoff picks not in any particular order. Jo Byrns, Forrest, Cascade and Eagleville. I believe the Eagles will make the playoffs for the second time in school history. WHH and MTCS could also challenge for a playoff spot. GO EAGLES
  20. Not completely true, Rockvale kids and some Christiana kids can choose either Eagleville or Riverdale.
  21. 5a teams Eagleville and WHH must have took it to the Trojans of Collinwood on Saturday since all is quiet on the home front. Does anyone have any info on how the scrimages went?
  22. Still haven't heard anything about Saturday's scrimages. Must not have played well. Info please.
  23. How did the srimages go? Haven't heard much.
  24. How did Collinwood look against Eagleville. I haven't heard much about the scrimage.+
  25. Give me some news about Eagleville. I'm not hearing much. Does next year look promising. Any srimmages this week. I do know about Sat. at Mt. Pleasant.
