  1. I believe your going to get your wish.
  2. It is true. We will be playing Mckenzie, and Bruceton will be back on the schedule. I can tell you Bucket has been working towards next year for about two weeks now.
  3. One thing to keep in mind though is that the tie breaker for the at-large teams is victories over teams who have a winning record.
  4. I think what really burnt Huntingdon fans was the fact it was done on the PA. Whether you think it should be or not, the PA announcer is a reflection on your school and your program.
  5. Obviousily you didn't see the 2003 Huntingdon or Milan teams, the 2004 or 2005 Alcoa team, or even this years Goodpasture team. That is just in recent history.
  6. That is true, but if Camden was playing in Region 7 2A they may not have either. I was pulling for Camden on Friday night but really didn't think there was much of a chance ya'll would pull it out. Right now, Region 5 2A has the big dogs on this side of the bracket. Everyone is playing catch up with Goodpasture and CPA.
  7. Since Huntingdon is out of the race, I am just a fan of high school football. Camden has one of the best defenses we saw all year but offensively they are in trouble in this one. Unless Camden's defense or special teams can create some turnovers or points, this could be a long night for the Lions. The most telling stat of the year for Camden is that until Friday night they had one offensive touchdown against the best 3 teams that they played. Not knocking Camden by any means but I have seen quite a few playoff games the last few years and although they are good I don't see them at the Murfreesboro level yet. With that said, I am pulling for Camden to go just as far as they can and may watch them play Friday night.
  8. I know what he was trying to say. You pulled out a very impressive list of players but they are not on the same team. It is very common to see a Memphis team with more athletes on the field than the opposing team. The key word is athlete not necessarily great football player or great team.
  9. Does anyone know if there is a radio station that carries Alcoa's games that also streams in on the net?
  10. There was also a game involving those same two teams where some players from the other team ended their season on a missed call. Wide reciever false started not once but twice before the ball was snapped right in front of the ref. The worse part was the explanation the ref gave to the coaches. He told them the guy wasn't involved in the play.
  11. There would be a 3 way tie. Huntingdon, Westview, and Trenton would all be tied at 4-3 if Trenton wins. The first tie breaker is head-to-head and since the 3 teams each lost to a different team the next tie breaker is overall record. We would be the odd man out on overall record and Westview would get 3rd and Trenton 4th. Scenario #2 is wrong. If Westview wins and Huntingdon wins, Huntingdon wins the region because of the head-to-head wins over Westview and Humboldt.
  12. Yes, the only way we can lose and still make the playoffs is for Trenton to lose to Gibson county.
  13. IMO the true test for a coaching staff is how well they do when they can't win by just having more talent. I agree USJ has had some great players come through their program. If you look at Huntingdon over the last several years, I think you would have to agree that the program has been very successful. That has been accomplished WITHOUT a single D1 signee, and yes Chris Donald will go D1 after this year.
  14. If you recall in 2003, we had more depth than probably any 2A team in the state. We had a 1000 yd rusher from the year before that never carried the ball in 2003. Our 2nd team could have started for over half the teams we played that year. We were able to get better in practice each week.
  15. Camden may be passing Huntingdon but you can also believe this. Camden would be struggling with wins just like Huntingdon if you was playing the same schedule.
  16. Injuries have been issue that is no doubt but that can't be used as an excuse. We don't have the talent that we have had in the past to line up and just dominate other teams. The Mustangs have to be on top of their game for 4 quarters every night to come out on top. The players don't need to keep hearing from so called experts around town that they aren't that good or that the coaches aren't doing a good job. The cupboard is not bare in Huntingdon. We just don't have as big of a cupboard as we have had.
  17. As a Mustang fan, I understand how we get spoiled and don't like it when the team is not playing as well as we think they should. However, this is not the place to down coaches or players. You seem to want to lay the blame on the offensive coordinator. Maybe we haven't put up as many points as we have in the past but if you notice we have let teams score more points on us this year than we have in the past. We are running the same defense, with the same defensive coordinator. I believe the coaches will tell you they have made some mistakes at times this year. However, if you have been watching the games you will have to admit that execution on the field is where we are hurting the most.
  18. You might ought to do some checking on that. Privates don't have a specific school district like a public school. I know for a fact a kid can live in Carroll county, attend a private in Jackson, and be eligible to play. However, that same kid cannot live in Jackson and attend a school in Carroll county and be eligible. Is that playing by the same rules?
  19. This comment is partly about the situation in Milan and partly about your comment. I agree TOTALLY that everyone should follow the same rules. If the player in question had been living in Milan and decided to attend USJ. He could have transferred and been eligible to play. I don't see how anyone can say that public and privates are playing under the same rules. I really hope Milan doesn't have to forfeit those first 4 wins. Its going to be tough enough playing them Friday without them being mad.
  20. We have never been much above the cut off. Under the last classification, the cut off was at 399. I believe our enrollment was about 410.
  21. That really makes it interesting as to what the TSSAA would do with those 2 schools. Hickman county sits in the middle of all the Region 6 2A schools, but if the 2 high schools are put in that region it would be an 11 team region. We already know Jackson Christian is moving to 2A next year. If they are put in region 7, that would be a 9 team region. It sure sounds like TSSAA needs to put another 2A region back in west tn.
  22. We just think that was a makeup call for '98.
