  1. My good buddy Ronnie Yeiser is gonna lead Lewis County to the victory. At least he better.
  2. it is nice to hear people like bhhvols and purple and gold standard, who were not at the game, explain to us that were actually there exactly what happened with #56. listen, i don't know the kid or care anything about hearing his life story. here is what i know..... he got blocked by our running back and didn't like it so he threw our guy down and kicked him in the face. his immediate reaction was that he fully expected to either be thrown out or pulled out by his coaches. neither of those happend so that is the end of the story. as far as me being a sore loser, i guess you didn't read my post. i congradulated union city's football team. they played very hard and deserved to win that game. they were more physical than us in our scrimmage game before the year and were againg last night in the second half.
  3. I first want to say congrats to the union city football team. As far as the band and the fans that sang goodbye to the cats, I just wanted to say real classy move. To you, I hope south pitt whoops your tails. Your team, excluding 56, deserves better representation that what you all had to offer. As far as I am concerned, 56 played this game on borrowed time and should Wayne co pursue it, he would probably miss the trip to the championship game. We won't and he will play but kicking someone in the head should definately cost him more than 15 yards. Loser. And to the cats, great season. I have enjoyed every minute of it
  4. 33 Wayne Co 7 Perry co #5 is running wild tonight!
  5. Wayne county 26 Perry co 7 seven minutes left in the third. Two fumbles in the first half for the cats has kept this one closer than it should be.
  6. perry county has to win a game before this can be a football rivalry. i swear i don't understand all the talk about perry co having better players than wayne county. it's kinda crazy. the truth will come out friday. i have this weird feeling that the cats are beginning to get fed up with the lack of respect the team has got all year. that includes the coaches.
  7. this game will not come down to penalties. wayne co is too strong for lewis co this year. the panthers can probably run the ball against the cats but i don't see enough points out of their offense to keep it close.
  8. i have seen both teams play against mt pleasant and i don't think that lewis co can score enough points to beat the cats. obviously i am for wayne county, but i would love to see my buddy ronnie yeiser have a good game for lewis county. wayne co. 35 lewis co. 12
  9. i don't think mt pleasant can stop wayne co. on offense, but i don't know how confident i am in the cats stopping mp's offense either. i think we will see a lot of points scored this week and the rest of the season for and against the cats. i still taking the wildcats by more than a td.
  10. i will take wayne co. by 3 td's. i was just on the volnation website looking at tennessee football and i noticed that tyler rice has a thread about him on the recruiting board. pretty cool to see that. the co-owner of tn varsity preps had put up a small clip of him last year against CA. i wish someone would make a highlight video of him from last year and put it on youtube so i could add it the the vols forum.
  11. in order for cwood to win, they need to pass the ball effectively. i haven't seen them play but someone i know watched them play lc and said that they could throw it around a little bit. mp's pass coverage was terrible against lc. they played the run well but could not cover the pass at all. lc just couldn't throw it very well.
  12. having seen lc play, i would say that if cwood is as good as they were last year that the trojans will win this one. lc seems to be down a bit from years past. i don't know what cwood has so i am saying that as long as the trojans have not fallen from where they were last year, they should win this game.
  13. i bet if you ask the mp backs about who was the most physical player on the field, they would have no trouble replying #12 for LC. his tackling form is perfect. there is no way that you could have watched that game and not noticed his physical play. he is a really good run defender from the corner position. i am sure the before mentioned players were pretty physical and are easily noticed by a fan of your team. as an unbiased fan, i can honestly say that the only player that i noticed being really physical was #12.
  14. from an unbiased opinoin, 1) i thaught that both teams were WAY down this year. 2) mp's coaches almost cost them a game that they totally dominated by calling stupid plays. the onside kick was just stupid. lc had not moved the ball the whole first half so i don't understand why you would even attempt an onside kick. 3) the td pass to win the game for mp should have never been thrown. 1st and goal from the 2 with big backs and a big qp and you throw a pass. the lc linebacker literally let the ball go right through his hands. should have been picked. 4) as bad a lc is, they had the game won but killed themselves with costly penalties on the last mp drive of the game. 5) outside of #12 for lc, neither team was physical at all. 12 is a player on defense and he will hurt you, but other than him, the game was played very passive.
  15. i got to see some of the cats practice the other day. rice's arm is huge and his vision seems to be better than last years (and it was pretty good last year). the skill players looked good in space especially when tyler got the ball to them in the flats. i am concerned about our line play though. we don't seem to stay with our blocks very long and tyler has to make something happen pretty quick even against our scout team defense. i kinda think that there will be at least a couple of different players starting on the o-line than what are working with the first team right now. just my opinion though.
  16. when d1 coaches recruit 1a talent, they are looking for the right tools a player has more so than how good he seems against his competition. with tyler's height and arm strength alone, he's gonna get some looks. for those of us that really study the game, you will notice that his pocket presence is excellent and that sense of pressure can not be taught. (just look at crompton for ut, he never feels the backside pressure.) tyler has the natural ability that it takes to get noticed in a small school. there is no doubt that his dad will help him get some attention along the way as well. also, Unapproved Website and rivals radio are located in nashville so it shouldn't be that hard to get some info on there about him if the right person wishes to do so. my only concern for him is his grades.
  17. i think in a few weeks during this season the wood may have had one foot in the past and one in the future and pi$$ed on a few of the games they played in this year. they were as good as anyone we played in region play this year. 7-3 should get a playoff birth but with a little help from wayne county by losing to moore co., the trojans stayed at home come playoff time!
  18. jo burns is an EXCELLENT high school football team. you are undersized in physical stature but you play with huge hearts and an intensity that we have not seen this year. i was very impressed with your defensive ends and linebackers. they play the position the right way and seem to not get out of position very much. in my opinion, your defense was considerably better than lewis county. they were better on offense but you all didn't have any trouble there either. we don't play well in rainy weather but that's no excuse. we were just beat by a team that was going to do whatever it took to win. congrats to the cats on a great year. and seniors, the good news about your last season being over is that the memories you have made over the last four years will last forever!
  19. i have heard that we would like to add lawrence county and prolly loretto to our schedule and let some of the further trips go.
  20. only 2 of the 4 will make it to the playoffs out of a 4 team region. we will prolly still play most of the teams we do now.
  21. cpr is right on. we were very vanilla a few years back. the reason for that was we did not have the talent at qb to open it up. we had big lineman, a good back, and a decent running qb but the passing game was just not there. we didn't have the team speed to run around people or trick them so we did the best we could. where i disagree with him is the fact that if you are good at what you do, you don't have to trick someone. ohio state and southern cal are pretty darn good year in and year out with the two most vanilla offenses in college. neither team relies on trick plays nor do they hardly ever run anything out of their normal offensive sets. southern cal actually runs literally about five different pass plays and 5 different run plays. their alignments are different with different motions but the plays are basically the same. jb was more talented than us in those years and they made the plays instead of us. our offense is now much more balanced with a great qb and two good backs. we take more chances now because of our ability to pass but were still gonna do what we do best and that is try to establish the running game. i would say that the talent level for the cats across the board is much higher this year than it was the last 2 times wc and jb met. we are young at the skill positions but very good there. this should be a very good game.
  22. from a fans prospective, we have three recievers that are better than anyone else we have played against all year. with a great qb, a line that can protect, and tall, fast, and physical recievers, this should be a very interesting game. oh and jbsdad, just ask mtcs how physical wc is. or maybe you might not want to know cause it could scare you a little bit. head hunters baby!!!
  23. mtcs is a VERY disciplined football team. you can tell a team is well coached when they go down 21 very early in the game and never let up. the difference in the game was the amount of athletes on wc's football team this year. we just had too many weapons. mtcs was disciplined on defense but when a team is that much faster and stronger than you, at some point your gonna have a break down. tyler allen and austin rice were both able to use their speed and strength to get open almost at will. wc and mtcs both had some dropped passes but the numbers for the game were 9-22 for rice with 230+ yards passing and 3 td's. mtcs's qb threw it 40+ times completing 20+ for 200+ yards with 3 td's but also threw 4 picks. wc's secondary has such a good eye for the ball and we could have easily had the 6 picks that was earlier posted but mtcs's recievers did a good job of turning into defenders and broke up about 3 passes that our d-backs had within their grasp. wc's radio coverage game the player of the game to austin rice. he had 4 catches for 130+ yards and 2 td's. he covered one onside kick, and had a great game at mlb for us. i'm not sure of his tackle count but he had several. oh and for anyone outside of the region, #21 is only a freshman. i'd say that's a pretty good performance for your first playoff game! coach rice praised his lineman on the radio show after the game and said he was very proud of how well they protected all night. good win cats. let's get jb.
  24. haha. i love to here someone say that we need new coaches and then follow that up by saying that the coaches we have now are trying to teach the players too much instead of just letting them play. that is the stupidest comment i have ever heard. anyone who knows the least bit about the fundamentals of what it takes to win a game knows that preparation is the key to success. without it, you can beat other undiciplined teams that are less talented than you, but when it comes playoff time, you better know what your responsibility is and be as prepared as possible. not just go out there and play like your in gym class. if your gonna complain, at least have a complaint and some knowledge of football.
