  1. Tim Jackson from Milan. Grew up in Milan and played for John Tucker. Played on scholarship at UT Martin. Came home and has coached the O-Line at Milan. The most gifted offensive line coach. Not only this, he is a wonderful Christian man who the guys really look up to. GO DAWGS!
  2. Personally, I hope that Terrence Bell is o.k. It is tragic when you see a kid from any team go down. Such as, Bell, Q'back from USJ, and Chad Autry from Milan. Huntindon ought to be thankful that Bell will be back this year. USJ lost it's QB for the year. Autry is out for the entire season with a "blown out" knee. We look forward to playing the Mustangs on Oct. 10. My hopes are that this time it will not be raining like it did two years ago. Man, was that a game as we sat in pouring down rain with the temperature hovering below 50 degrees and the wind which was blowing the rain parallel to the ground. However the game comes out, these two teams will meet again in the playoffs. They are definitely the best of the west in 2A, as well as any classification. GO DAWGS!
  3. Very well could be one of the best Milan teams ever. Just ask and listen to some of the people who have been around Milan for years and you will hear most of them say the same. This group of 16 seniors have played and stayed together for four years. Add in the Junior and Sophomore class, Milan is loaded. I continue to say that if this team plays up to their potential the season will be extended beyond 10 games. They are focused on each game with the goal of Dec. 5th in mind. Very tragic the injury to Chad Autry who is a Senior and a Captain. Initial reports are that he will be out for the entire season and playoffs. It looks to be a blow to the Purple Pack, but, with Chris Johnson, a Sophomore, filling in at the Def. Tackle Milan is still dominant. Chris is definitely a wide body with alot of pure skills. Should be an all-region and all state pick by his senior year. GO DAWGS!

    Milan-JCM

Should be a great game. Come early because word is out that the stadium will be packed. Milan has scrimmaged JCM the past three years in the summer. Each time they have held their own. JCM seems to be down a little this year but you can never count them out. I look for this one to go into the fourth quarter. My prediction is Milan 35 - JCM 21. GO DAWGS!
  5. Milan rolls to another win over the Manassas Tigers 44-8. The 8 points for the opponents came against the 2nd team defense late in the 4th quarter. Next week the Bulldogs take on Region rival Union City at Milan. GO DAWGS!
  6. I'm not familiar enough with the coaches in Middle and East TN. In the west the names that always come up are... Mickey Marley - USJ Jeff Morris - Milan Don Coady - Martin-Westview P.A. Pratt - Crockett Co. Most underrated Head Coach - Tim Haney of Trenton Peabody Among retired coaches of all-time - John Tucker of Milan; All-time winningest head football coach in the state
  7. Has to be the Milan Bulldog Fans. At Johnny Hale stadium you have a cross section of the community together pulling for the DAWGS. By the way, at most away games Milan's fans outnumber the home teams. GO DAWGS!
  8. Unless you are blind you must not have read all of the t-shirt. It says, "State Champions, Made Not Born." Certainly the Milan program has alot to boast about with State Championship in 1971AA, 1977AA, 1998AA, 1999AAA. Along with those titles we have one of the winningest Current Head Coaches in Jeff Morris who accepts nothing less that each players best. And as I recall Retired Head Coach John Tucker is the all-time winningest head coach in TN football. Unless you can boast of such accomplishments you are certainly playing arm chair quarterback, spouting off, make judgement calls, and taking things out of context. Let the record show that Milan is not overlooking anyone this season. All the while staying focused and accepting nothing less than the best. GO DAWGS!
  9. In Region 7-2A you have Milan, Martin-Westview, and Dresden. Over in 6-2A you have Huntingdon. Most of the rest seem to be chasing these programs this year. Should be an interesting year in 2A. Have not heard much about the Memphis programs. Mitchell returns several starters on both sides of the ball. If you remember, last year they played David Lipscomb for the state 2A title.
  10. :justwrestle: Daylan Walker, SE, from Milan H.S. Extremely fast and is just a junior. Look for him to have a banner season at Split End and Cornerback.
  11. Any predictions on the Bulldog - Charger game this Friday night?
  12. :justwrestle: I would have to say that this year's version of the Milan Bulldogs looks pretty tough. With 16 seniors returning, 15 are starting, the "Dawg House" is ready for the season. Milan boasts of four state championships; 1971, 1977, 1998, and 1999. Year in and year out Milan fields quality teams that focus on speed, size, and fundamentals.
  13. I was browsing the bulletin board and saw information about Pigeon Forge. A number of years ago my son played football in Pigeon Forge. He was on the grasscutters team with Bruce Belitz. My son now plays with the Milan Bulldogs and fondly remembers his first year in tackle football. I wish the Tigers success in the upcoming football season. By the way, what region does Pigeon Forge play in? Milan is Region 7-2A.
  14. With David Lipscomb being the reigning State 2A champs and their coaching staff you have to mention them as a possibility. They are always very strong. Did you know that Lipscomb's head coach was an assistant under the Legendary John Tucker at Milan H.S.? Sounds like he got the best training under a legend. I maybe a little biased, but, if Milan can stay healthy you can count on it that the DAWGS know how to win state championships. Milan-24 David Lipscomb-13 GO DAWGS!
  15. I agree PurpleTRock! Milan passed and ran at will against the Cavaliers. Word has is that the starting quarterback for Crockett Co. injured his hand. Don't know for sure how. The Bulldawgs should go a long way in the playoffs this year. Hopefully, to Murfreesboro. Look for Milan to be strong on both sides of the ball. Throw in special teams and it looks like a really good year in Milan. GO DAWGS!
  16. On Tuesday, August 19, the Milan Bulldogs traveled to Crockett Co. to take part in a controlled scrimmage. It was very evident that the Bulldogs would not be denied this year after last year's heartbreaker in the regular season. The "Dawgs" whipped the Cavaliers into submission with a 31-14 whipping. Even though the Cavaliers are a 3A team and Milan is a 2A team, the Dawgs outmatched them in every facet of the scrimmage. No wonder the Cavaliers don't want to play Milan in the regular season. GO DAWGS!
