  1. You wouldn't happen to be talking about B.A. Young, would you?
  2. The most important thing about that game was that it built confidence and fan support. We desperately needed both.
  3. Hmm. Don't know much about the Jets this year. I do know that last year they shut us out, 58-0.
  4. Much easier said than done. Hillwood by 13.
  5. Balance? I'll be darned if you attempted five passing plays all night. But Brown is an excellent back, very hard to tackle. He'll be playing on Saturdays somewhere, I'll bet.
  6. Hillwood's tailback is extremely hard to tackle. I think he'll give your "curtain" fits.
  7. Oh, they'll definately play hard. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they pull out a win. It's just that I'm scarred with a deep pessimism that comes from having four wins over the past three years (not counting this one).
  8. Well, that was extremely bad taste! Our band usually only plays after we score, have a big play, or make a stop on defense. They always stop before play resumes.
  9. I agree, these are the two best teams in the Region. It should be a fabulous game.

    Prayers

From: http://dhr.dos.state.fl.us/museum/civwar/02.html In early January 1861, a special convention of delegates from around the state met in Tallahassee to consider whether Florida should leave the Union. Governor Madison Starke Perry and Governor-elect John Milton were both strong supporters of secession. For days, the issues were debated inside and outside the convention. In a minority opinion, former territorial governor Richard Keith Call, acting as a private citizen, argued that secession would bring only ruin to the state. On January 10, 1861, the delegates voted sixty-two to seven to withdraw Florida from the Union. The next day, in a public ceremony on the east steps of the capitol, they signed a formal Ordinance of Secession. News of the event generally led to local celebrations. Later, the delegates adopted a new state constitution. Florida was the third state to leave the Union, and within a month it joined with other southern states to form the Confederate States of America. Ordinance of Secession. We, the People of the State of Florida in Convention assembled, do solemnly ordain, publish and declare: That the State of Florida hereby withdraws herself from the Confederacy of States existing under the name of the United States of America, and from the existing Government of said States; and that all political connection between her and the Government of said States ought to be and the same is hereby totally annulled, and said union of States dissolved; and the State of Florida is hereby declared a Sovereign and Independent Nation; and that all ordinances heretofore adopted in so far as they create or recognize said Union are rescinded; and all laws or parts of laws in force in this State, in so far as they recognize or assent to said Union be and they are hereby repealed. Done in open Convention, January 10th, A.D. 1861

    Girls

It's just not ethical to have men and women competing athletically like that. I don't care how tough the women are or how soft the men are.
  12. Unfortunately, I think it'll be Hillwood by about 4.
  13. Well, if your county has more high schools then it does radio stations, I can understand. Otherwise, that's just silly.

    Prayers

Florida was acquired by the US 40 years before the Civil War. We always have a prayer. I couldn't imagine a football game without one.
  15. Hillwood will probably win, but it won't be a cakewalk. I guarantee that.
  16. All I know is that Coach Brown is the greatest coach who ever lived!
  17. Dell Lewis, Josh Lowery, Michael Farley, Seth England, and B.A. Young. Excellent coaching and a very strenuous offseason weight program.

    Girls

Don't be ridiculous, of course they shouldn't be allowed to play. It would definately be the most unfair matchup in the history of the sport. This is how it would work: QB takes snap, hands off to TB, a girl. She runs for touchdown. Next offensive series, same play, same result. Since men cannot strike a woman, she can't be tackled. Ever. It would ruin the sport. Now, if they have a separate league, that's fine.
  19. They won't be a problem for us. I really do feel sorry for them, though. I know how they feel.
  20. Two turnovers as we were nearing paydirt in the first half didn't help either. Lawrence Co. is improved over last year's team as well. I hope you all have a lot of success in the remainder of the season.
  21. The actual final score was 20-17. Due to two turnovers in the first half as we were nearing the goal line, we did not dominate the scoreboard. LCHS led by 7-0 at the half. However, we came roaring back to a 20-10 lead at one point. The Wildcats' late 4th quarter comeback came up short, and we won the game.
  22. FINAL: White Co. Warriors 20 Lawrence Co. Wildcats 17
  23. Keep it. I was so disappointed when Ole Miss got rid of the Colonel.
