  1. Of course, I'm going to say they'll make it! GO FALCONS!

    KWalker4 Hey

Thanks so much! He is at the dr. right now so hopefully we'll get some good news. Fulton had a scrimmage last night & he went. He sat in a chair at the end of the field with a walkie talkie. I knew they wouldn't be able to keep him away!
  3. I agree, the Fulton/AE game is a region game & these are the top two teams in the region - I would say that has a lot to do with why it is the one televised. Plus - with the rivalry in Blount County - I don't think a single person in that area will be at home to watch the game - they'll ALL be there!

    KWalker4 Hey

You didn't start anything, Tad! Don't worry about it. Dad goes back to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully the iv can be removed. He is still in a lot of pain, but doing a little better each day.

    KWalker4 Hey

Indian - I'm sorry but I'm a little confused. You say you're a moderator & your job is to make sure people stay on the subject of football. I'm not going to get on here & bash anyone for starting threads, but I'm pretty sure there have been other threads started on the football forum that didn't really pertain to football. I've have read the jacquimac thread, posted on it, been touched by all the people praying for her & think it is wonderful that somebody thought enough of her to start a thread. You see, I totally believe in the power of prayer. I was diagnosed with lung cancer last december. I know there were many many prayers on my behalf & I am happy to say that after very tough radiation, chemotherapy & surgery I am now cancer free. This thread was started because someone thought enough of my Dad to let me know they were thinking about him & hoping he was doing better. My Dad is a high school football coach/athletic director & has been for the last 40 years. While on vacation in Florida a couple of weeks ago he contracted a very bad bacterial infection from the ocean. He ended up in the emergency room there & when he got back home spent a week in the hospital. He is now home from the hospital, but is still very ill. As I said, he has been a high school football coach at Fulton High School for 40 years. In that forty years he missed his first game last year when his father was dying in the hospital. This week started practice for high shcool football & my Dad is missing practice for the first time, which is extremely hard on him to say the least. Tad, splains, roadrunner, stlrcoach & others who have shown concern, I would like to sincerely thank you. I will let my Dad know you have asked about him. Hopefully he won't be down too much longer! GO FALCONS!

    KWalker4 Hey

TAD - Dad is doing some better, but you're exactly right - he is chomping at the bit. I just hung up with him on the phone & it is killing him that he is not at practice. He's never missed like this before so he doesn't know what to do with himself. He said Rob told him you had been asking about him. Thanks for checking on him. I can guarantee he will be back out there as soon as they will let him. The recovery is just slow & he has very little patience when it comes to this. Thanks again! GO FALCONS!
  7. NO - I didn't say that - I know better! Hey, you didn't wish me a happy birthday!
  8. In the past I think the ticktets have been around $10. If you buy them from the school you support part of that money goes to that school I think for insurance or something so you want to be sure & go by the team you're for. I would say they'll go on sale late this week or early next week - I'll try to find out for sure for you.
  9. Roadrunner - you're my friend & all, but I'm confused. How is it KPD's fault if someone fires a gun whether it's inside or outside the stadium?! Shouldn't the person firing the gun be at fault? . . . .just wandering!
  10. Powell will hurt Halls' feelings. Won't even be close.
  11. We could argue this point til we're blue in the face. The point is . . .as a general rule, you're exactly right. The larger the number of students in the school, the more (probably more talented) players you have on a team. . . . . general terms speaking of course. Otherwise, TSSAA wouldn't have different classifications. duh! But there are some very good teams in the lower classifications that could compete & beat some teams in the higher classifications. Now - can we get back to talking about the jambo?!

    KWalker4 Hey

Thank you so much! He is actually doing better & is waiting to be released from the hospital right now. He gets to go home with an IV & home health will come administer his medicine each day until he is well! He's excited to get to leave the hospital! I'll let him know you're thinking of him!
  13. Central has NOT asked Fulton to scrimmage them the last two years! They haven't had ANYTHING to do with Fulton since Central got in trouble with TSSAA & I KNOW this for a fact! I'm not gettin on here & saying Fulton will win every game or anything like that! But I KNOW NOBODY is gonna walk all over us. If they beat us - they'll work hard for it! Like I said, make it the 'boro & you'll have a little room to run that trap of yours - until then . . . . . . . . . . GO FALCONS! sorry for getting off subject on your thread, del.
  14. Your little signature is real cute 68. BUT Central is NOT on Broadway. They're about as close to being on Broadway as AE, Halls, or even Powell. Since you're so smart since you go to Central & all, you would think you would know what road your school is on! But I tell you what - when you can get past the 3rd round of the playoffs & maybe make it to the 'boro - then you come talk to me about the second best team! Until then, just keep showing your ingorance! GO FALCONS!
  15. From what I've heard they looked good. The three qb's got a lot of work & I heard they all did well. I heard one of the teams ended up not going so Fulton got to divide up into two teams of some sort 7 get some extra work. I think it was a great camp for them. I NEVER doubted them, though! GO FALCONS!
  16. That's the reason I didn't pick Powell - I KNEW I would NEVER hear the end of it!
  17. Here are my predictions - they're pretty close to yours. splains . . . . Quarter 1: TSD Quarter 2: West Quarter 3: Carter Quarter 4: Webb Quarter 5: AE Quarter 6: Central Quarter 7: Fulton Quarter 8: Farragut Quarter 9: Kings Academy
  18. . . . . . . . cause "that's what's up" right, Roadrunner!
  19. OK znaggle. I can agree with some of your points on the program. I agree that a lot of parents don't care (sad to say) about sending their kids to college or hearing about opportunities to do so. So I'm not going to argue about it anymore. I think you started the thread about Gatewood's brothers, so let's get back to that.

Roadrunner - your message was right - I am cracking up! Hey, why don't you help turf master out with some info on your Roadrunners?
  21. The summer school I'm referring to is not to keep a "B" average in school. They get NO credit for these classes at the highschool level or college level. These are enrichment type classes that after their freshman year they take at Pellissippi for several weeks & after their sophomore year they take classes at UT & then have to stay on campus for a week. It is part of the project grad program requirements.

I almost said something right here, Roadrunner, but I'm not going to. I'll just say I'm looking forward to the matchup - as always! GO FALCONS!
