  1. Yeah. I know region 4-4A, and its going to be tough no matter how good redbank is. Everyone is succeptible to injury, so lets not tell all the other teams to throw in the towel just yet.
  2. Nice top ten, cept for Howard. They would get smashed on by teams that aren't even listed.
  3. Yeah, should be an interesting matchup. Im picking WCHS even though I dont like em.
  4. If you talk in third person at least get the name right. Hixson.
  5. I see some very valid points about Hixson playing down, while other teams were playing up. We kept East Ridge on our schedule because they were a foe from 4-a a couple years ago. I remember playing for Hixson when we got in a huge brawl with them on the sideline. As far as Notre Dame, they were a premeire team last year, but lost many seniors, thats why Hixson beat them handedly. This has the makings of a great game. I look foward to seeing Caleb Wilson and Rhea square off against Hixson.
  6. This game should be a pretty good one to watch. Some things to watch out for. 1. Charles Hardy, RB/DB for Hixson, the kid had 4TDs against ER and 1 TD and 1 INT against ND. Very athletically talented, and fast as lightning. 2. Caleb Wilson, QB for Rhea Co., the leader of the team, he will pretty much dictate whether or not Rhea will do well. 3. Hixson's Pass Defense. This thing has been their achilles heel for the past few years, but with two seniors at safety, and seniors on the line and in the conerbacking corps, it could be a thing of interest. Rhea Co. should be competitive in 4A this year, last year Hixson beat them after a long kickoff return by Hixson's Coheleach Holmes, which set up the game winning touchdown drive. Rhea Co. will be playing with a chip on their shoulder, but dont think Hixson's Coach Windham will let his boys get cocky with that 2-0 record over some mediocre teams having down years. Everything is different when it's a region game. This should be a good one.
  7. Cleveland should win this game handedly. They are better than most people give them credit for.
  8. Don't play the mental superiority game with me. I assure you, you will not succeed. I never heard anyone bashing Sparta's coach when y'all were winning early in the year, but I guess someone has to take the fall though. You get what you deserve though I suppose.
  9. Lol, man you couldn't be more wrong, way to humor me for the day. For the record, no, White Co. didn't beat us. Nice try buddy.
  10. Lol I think you're building up White Co.'s talent just a bit too much. If you want to talk about wasted talent, talk about Brainerd High School. Unless y'all are getting some AMAZING transfers from other high schools, then y'all are average in the talent department. I've seen White Co. play, their RB's were slow ( and don't give me that Dell Lewis bull either), we saw him for like two quarters, he was all hype. The only real amazing player was a hot headed wide receiever who always got y'all costly penalties.
  11. How do I have no clue? I played on the field against White Co. last year, and their talent was mediocre. I'm surprised they won as many games as they did.
  12. The Bullocks Brothers Hixson One plays for the saints.
  13. Last time I heard he had a partial to UTC.
  14. Yeah, but even if they are getting 5A numbers now, the majority of it lies in the underclassmen, they are still a couple years off. As far as bashing White Co.'s coach, that's uncalled for. They didn't have lots of talent, they had an overrated fullback and a decent WR, who mentally, couldn't keep his cool.
  15. What'd you'd like to see simply does not correspond with reality. If Walker Valley makes the playoffs this year, I'll be shocked beyond imagination. They are still a few years off from being competitive in our region. This ain't that cupcake region they came from, this is one of the more competitive regions in the state as far as talent being spread out somewhat equally among most teams. My playoff predictions, in no particular order. Cleveland, Hixson, Red Bank, and Rhea Co.
  16. Eh, 'tis nothing but a popularity contest.
  17. Caleb Wilson is the most underrated QB in Chattanooga if you ask me.
  18. The favorite should be Red Bank, But Rhea Co. Has the one of the top QB i would say in the region. They always play tough, and Hixson always get underrated before season so look out for them to have a good year. Every victory in 4-4a region is huge!!! if you win 4 you lock as a top 2 seed and 3 to pretty much make it 3 and 4th seed. White County it's going to be interesting w/ them because they will be tested w/o they key players form 05 season, but they a hard phyiscal team and will always be tough. Brainerd has talent but NO COACHING!!!! they will not finish in the top 2 seeds on the region.
  19. Yeah, Hixson didn't score till Powell's reserves were in. But to be fair, we did stop the running game on the first series, but our secondary was our weakness, and Lee Smith showed that with his first TD. Red Bank has won the region two years running, and they return Tete Caldwell. Did Caleb Wilson graduate, or is this his senior year for Rhea Co.?
  20. Lol Isn't that type of attitude of what set yall up to lose to Hixson last year?
  21. Yeah, you do have a valid point. That was one of the tougher years to compete with 3-4a teams though. Third place Powell beat McCallie earlier that year. Maryville and Knox Central are always good. You pretty much have to win 4-4a if you want to make it to the second round. I remember the atmosphere in preparing to play Powell last year, it was a very reluctant one. It was, give it all you got, and maybe have a shot at beating Powell, and if you do pull the upset, you get to go to Maryville and play them. Most of Hixson's seniors prime focus was to win region. Once they failed to do that, they were disheartened. To put it frank, you can hardly gauge Hixson's caliber by watching that game against Powell. Anyways, this should be another competitive year for 4-4a.
  22. Lol it's different not being involved in the actual game play this year. One year removed from Hixson, I'm going to say Hixson should be very competitive this year. They always play with a chip on their shoulder. Lookout for Charles Hardy, Greg Rivers, Kevin Cantrell, Fred McDonald, and Eric Gillespie. Eric was the top linebacker last year, and Charles Hardy is more than poised the fill the void left by the graduation of Coheleach Holmes. I am interested to see how the defensive ends fill the void of Russel Gros, who was an asset to the team both on the field and in the lockerroom. The offensive line will have to reload, as four of the starters graduated. Hixson's strong point, ironically, should be their defensive secondary this year, which has long been their weak point. They have a really strong player in Fred McDonald at DT, who has been putting up impressive numbers in the weightroom and is a force on the field. Kevin Cantrell returns for his final year as Hixson's signal calller. He is a talent as free safety and has solid quarterbacking skills. As far as winning region, that is always a tough task for any region 4-4A team. This years team will be dictated by their health, for Hixson has never had great depth or a big sideline.
  23. I respect Knox Halls, but they aren't 40-0 the last four regular seasons. Maryville is. I respect Knox Halls, I just respect Maryville a lot more.
