  1. I'd like to see Soddy play South Pitt, I'm sure he wouldn't be talking smack then.

    Adarius who?

Don't pat yourself on the back too much. It isn't that he can't handle double and triple coverage, it's that the quarterback can't handle getting him the ball. Your argument has no substance. Take Peter Warrick for example. Against Tennessee in the fiesta bowl Jan. 4, '99, he got absolutely shut down...one catch for something like 9 yards. So, if he can't handle SINGLE coverage in college, he shouldn't be able to do anything in the NFL. Obviously that's wrong. You could also take Gerald Riggs' final game in hs (against Maryville in the playoffs) he had 60-something yards, so if he can't get anymore yards than that, he shouldn't do well in college either, should he? Obviously that's wrong as well. You can't judge something like that on one game, it's a very inaccurate way of judging. To answer your question, people like every major college coach in the country think he'll do fine in college, so I have a small feeling they're not going to care too much about what you think.

    Adarius who?

Well apparently people whose opinion matters more than yours think he'll do fine in college.
  4. So if you don't score, but hold a team to 70 yards, you ran all over them? Hmmm, interesting logic. Lets look at things this way, Boyd people...Y'all say you're better than McCallie because you beat them in a scrimmage. Wellllll, Notre Dame beat Rhea in a scrimmage earlier this summer (which, according to your logic, would make ND better than Rhea), and we all know what McCallie did to Notre Dame this past Friday. My point in saying that is to help people realize that Rhea County is not that good of a team this year. Boyd sure is one heck of a football team in 1A, but there are still several teams that, in my mind, would handily beat them. Teams like Baylor, McCallie, Ooltewah, Soddy-Daisy (who beat Boyd in a scrimmage if you put any stock in those), Red Bank (just kidding), and Tyner. I'm not trying to make Boyd look bad, I hope y'all do well and win state so you can represent Chatt. well, but I honestly think that Boyd isn't in the top 5 teams in Chattanooga.

    Rhea Co. vs Soddy

I think Rhea is definitely overrated. Soddy will win this one in a blowout. I'm gonna give Garmany some respect on this one with 1 touchdown... Soddy-42 Rhea-7
  6. Bbuc24, that was an incredibly pointless remark. His post was about Boyd talking trash and showing no class, not about football. Even if it was about football, the fact that CCS doesn't have a football team has nothing to do with his ability to talk about it or have knowledge about it. Please don't make statements like that when they make no sense. p.s.-you just proved his point about some people on here from Boyd showing no class. [Edited by Dale on 9-12-02 7:38A]
  7. Indian, I like your rankings better than anyone else's so far, but I still think Ooltewah would handily beat Boyd.
  8. I don't play football for anyone. Is this Stephen Adams?

THAT'S AWESOME!!! Now go post it on the basketball board where someone might care.
  10. I think Jason jernybonquenowskidinkshlounce might be a little better, sorry.

    Polk vs. Tyner

I'm gonna go with Tyner on this one by 6.
  12. For some reason, they seem to think beating Rhea and E.R. makes the one of the best teams in Chattanooga. Boyd is a great single A team, no doubt, but there's several teams in Chattanooga that would dominate them.
  13. 1-Soddy 2-Hixson 3-Ooltewah 4-Tyner 5-Baylor 6-Boyd 7-McCallie 8-Cleveland 9-Notre Dame 10-East Ridge
  14. Actually, I've been to plenty "Super Seven" games, and I still think 5 and 4A is better ball. Not every team in those classes, but many of them. McCallie had much trouble in beating a mediocre Red Bank team last year, and in all reality, RB should've won that game anyway. They also got lucky in beating Notre Dame last year, a team in D-II AA that won 3 games that season...yes 3. About the Riverdale comment...you ever think that maybe Riverdale doesn't want to play teams that offer scholarships/financial aid (whatever you want to call it) to players and have players from several states playing for them? If you HONESTLY think that Riverdale was afraid to play D-II teams, you're crazy. I do agree that D-II teams are very good, I also think that there are 7 5A and 4A teams that could beat D-II AAA teams.
  15. D-II is the best football in the state? Give me a break!!! The team that won state in D-II's largest classification last year barely beat Red Bank, who got absolutely pulverized by Maryville, a 4A team. Soddy, a 5A team, (please correct me if I'm wrong about this one) beat McCallie in the jamboree last year and finished 5-5 I believe. D-II has some good football teams, but when put up against the top teams in 4A and 5A, it wouldn't be close. Sorry. [Edited by Dale on 8-29-02 10:31P]
  16. So much for them being number 1 in the state.
  17. oline athlete, don't bother us with useless opinions like those. Ooltewah, a team many people have ranked number one in Chattanooga, beat RB 35-7. Soddy Daisy beat RB 45-6. I'm not saying that Soddy is definitely better than Ooltewah because of this, but obviously they're up there with Ooltewah. If Soddy-Daisy is not that good, according to you, it'd be scary to see a team that is good in your opinion. Good game Soddy, I know y'all have been waiting for that one for a while.
  18. Wow, 26 is great. I got a 24 ACT and 1150 SAT. I'm just glad to have those tests over with. I might take the ACT again though. Tell Joel I said good luck with his future playing career wherever he goes.
  19. Nice post Sequatchie, I agree 100%-why put Ga teams in a poll for Tn teams?
  20. Hey mrsoddydaisy, you're right, I might have 1 and 2 swapped if I was there. I think Ooltewah and Soddy are right there w/each other, we'll know more about y'all when you play RB on Thursday (heard you did well against Tyner) and Ooltewah later in the season, that should be a great one. I haven't seen Baylor play yet this year, just remember they weren't all that great last year, but we'll see. Tell Trey I said good luck and to not get discouraged. Good luck to y'all on your season!
  21. 1-Ooltewah (can't wait 'til they play Soddy) 2-Soddy-(like Ooltewah, very big team, need to stay healthy) 3-Tyner-speed kills 4-Cleveland-have a great RB in Barber 5-Hixson-many returning players, should be a force to be reckoned with 6-McCallie-yes, they won state last year, but they lost many key players, should still be good though. 7-Bradley-have a great coach in Price, he won't stand for another 3 win season 8-Boyd-yes, they're a great 1A team, but personally I don't think they could hang with the teams listed above. 9-Notre Dame-great new coach, great skill players, lack depth. 10-Rhea County-good team, great athlete in Garmany, team needs some fine-tuning though.
  22. Uhhh, I seriously doubt anyone's jv beating Soddy. I really think they're going to surprise a lot of people this year.
  23. Not only does he rebound, but he's one of the best at throwing people's shots all over the gym, and if not that, he at least alters shots and makes people think twice about driving to the hole. He plays as hard as anyone, so I guess a better question would be:"Who wouldn't want to play like Ben Wallace?"

    mccallie

Both interceptions were flukes. The ball was deflected both times and a lucky DB happened to be standing there and caught it. On one interception the DB caught it and only had to return it some 10 yards for one of their two TDs. With full game time it would have been very different. Sounds like an excuse to me...good luck to y'all this year, mrsoddydaisy. Tell Trey I hope his foot heals.
  25. Don't try too hard to be funny.
