  1. Greenbrier has been strong for the last few years. From my understanding, it wasn't that way several years ago, but also from what I've read on Greenbrier they have been in the playoffs since 1993. No they probably won't be in this year, but rethink this, Herndon wasn't a high school player for 13 years. Where did those good playoff years come from? I've been to Greenbrier and seen some good games and then I've seen ones where they can't break through that line. Speed is not the Bobcats forte, for sure. But you work with what you've got and what the coaches get is not their fault. I agree that they could work with the passing game more than what they have, but with Herndon, Dill and Pigg they didn't have to. Herndon is not the only good player that has passed through Greenbrier, although he seems to be the favored in Greenbrier. Yes, I agree he was very good, but when you hand the ball to a player 85 times out of 100, he is going to find a hole, get some yards and become the star of the team. Because Greenbrier has a bad year, don't be willing to throw the whole team under the bus. These things happen in high school and professional leagues. It has to be player talent AND coaches, not one or the other. But when they find that talent, I agree that there should be more variety than what they have been doing. Any team without a passing game will have a tough road.
  2. I just hope the Greenbrier coaching staff doesn't throw in the towel on this season. With all the injuries, they have to work hard to bring this team's drive and determination back up. With the fans being down, that's a matter of character with the ones in the stands whether they want to build these kids up, or tear them down. I think if you are a true fan, you roll with the punches and stand behind these kids no matter what. One player can't win it and one player can't lose it, but I have seen more than once, each player feel the burden of the loss. I sure hope to hear about some Come Back Cats next week. Finish strong and with your heads UP.
  3. Station Camp. It won't even be close if the Bison shut down WH's passing game and lock up Justin West.
  4. I have a feeling that Macon County's crowd will be a big factor in this game if they don't let the events of Homecoming distract them. According to the past schedules shown on Coacht, Station Camp has never played AT Macon County?? If not, therein lies the difference. Macon County packed a stadium and they are LOUD. Station Camp traveling combined with that, will be all the difference. My personal opinion is that Station Camp may not win again with the opponents left to face. Macon 28 Station Camp 14
  5. I don't have a kid in Greenbrier, but look back at the past seasons. 20 something straight region wins (not to mention non-region) vs. 6 wins. And yet you're 100% sure? Ask the coach if he is.
  6. For a little extra incentive to Greenbrier, according to the tell-all, make believe, Believe it or Not world of "Myspace" I just have to inform Bobcats defensive line that they are taking on the self-proclaimed "Future of the NFL" and "the next Mr. Football". Now if that's not taking from 1-9 to 6 wins to an extreme, I don't know what is. I'm sure the scouts will love that modesty. I predict an ego will be downsized in this game. Greenbrier - 21 SC - 17
  7. With Livingston being down, Station Camp will come away winning this one. They are running over everyone so far, and Cates is not there to pull LA out of the hole.
  8. Eddie - I don't know where you get that wishing a team good luck is arrogant. I follow a number of schools progress. My zip code is 37211 and I don't have any teens in school so I think I can root for whoever I wish.
  9. I would love to see an upset in Dekalb's favor. The Tigers need a win.
  10. Congrats to Giles. Your team that is coming back strong. Good luck the rest of the season.
  11. David Lipscomb has a good football program and my respect is for that alone. The word Humble may be in their Bibles, but it is not in their dictionary. Ask any team in 3A.
  12. You, my friend, have blinders on. Somebody has already convinced GT he is in the NFL draft. Read, listen or watch. Oozing with attitude. Yes, he is a phenomenal high school football player. As far as his grades. 3.1 might get him an athletic scholarship, but he'll have to have a tutor in college, while the coaches nurse him thru school.
  13. My opinion is Riverdale is strong fanbase but even with that there are many people there that have other things they prefer to do on a Friday night. I have been very impressed everytime I have been to Greenbrier to watch a game there. It's a small town and small school, but it seems the whole town has a Friday night appointment to watch a high school team. Thats what I qualify as atmosphere.
  14. Two good teams, BOTH coming off losses. One wants to get revenge, one wants to keep the win going. I'd say lets just hope everyone comes out uninjured. I'm leaning toward Greenbrier on this one, even though DL is at home. Just a gut feeling.
  15. I guess we can assume you're one of his parents then. Several of the posts talk about how great his father 'was' so I think we can safely which one.
  16. Hey NoDoubt... Don't want the heresays from others that don't really know so I'll come straight to you Just wondering the status on Roger and Kyle? Will and where they be playing next year? I'd like to keep up with their progress.. Thanks.
  17. Whatever. I was being sarcastic. I think DL's "better than thou" attitude needs adjusting. When I said LA should take the ball back to the "sticks" I referring to some of their remarks. I want to see a first timer come up and take the gold. I'm hoping Livingston comes out of the game Saturday with the win. Good luck. (And sorry, but my "daddy" is in his 80's, and if I want something from the mall, I can surely get it myself.)
  18. You might mention that to 3A Greenbrier who has powdered DL's behinds not one, but the last TWO years..
  19. well, I changed my mind...I gotta root for LA. Lipscomb's "elite" group have convinced me that a little country town needs to take the Gold Ball back to the "sticks"....as they would call it. I think the Cinderella story might have the perfect ending on Saturday. And regardless of what they tell you LA, they're not the only ones "getting in"... To the stadium, of course.
  20. I just have one question. Just tell me which team will get tired of talking smack the quickest after the playoffs? Which team will not STILL be talking smack come next August? Which team will be the most sportsmanlike with SOME hint of humility after a reasonable amount of celebration and which team will spare the rest of the 3A teams of ramblings for months to come? THAT is the team I'm rooting for.
  21. ND is not nearly as cocky on these boards as what they listened to last week. I understand Livingston has "heart". I'm not saying you guys are "cocky", but if any team that plays doesn't have "heart" they should be sitting in the stands. Especially at this point. The team I thought would take it is out, ND is familar to me, but I know LA is good too. I do think this will be the toughest game ND will have yet. Especially with Cates in the picture. Just don't try using any initials on Charlie. He got pretty irritated last week in posts overrun with initials. I can understand why, they were overly obnoxious...and cocky. Good luck to both teams.
