  1. Sounds like Huntingdon football has a bright future - imagine that.
  2. When Huntingdon came in and dictated the way the game was going to be played, I knew we were in trouble - typical Huntingdon, nothing new. Pound, pound, break a long run. But I thought the Panthers could make a comeback, and started turning things around in the fourth, but too little too late, and then another critical fumble inside Huntingdon's 5 yard line. Eubanks did a good job running the show, and Hutchinson can scoot. Wish the Stangs the best from here on out, until we meet again on the turf, in the cold.
  3. See you Huntingdon boys again in the playoffs.
  4. 1st down H'don. Fat lady is singing.
  5. High snap, Huntingdon gets the ball back. Fat lady tuning up now.
  6. Panthers down to the 2 of Huntingdon.
  7. Offense back on the field on Huntingdon's 48. There is enough time for a Johnny Frost team.
  8. 87 for the stangs is a force to deal with.
  9. To me, Huntingdon looks better than I had heard. They will be hard, hard to handle in the playoffs. Those folks over there don't need to complain about their coach. He has built, and keeps, a fine ball club.
  10. We're not matching their speed. Huntingdon has huge upper hand midway through 2nd.
  11. Also, you can watch on facebook-thenewsleader just pretty good coverage
  12. I would like to have heard from Mustang69 and Horse this week but didn't. They are usually spot on in the pickins.'
  13. Yes sir, impressive, but the two teams have played very little in the past 25 years. 42-8 prolly stops at roughly 1995. Riverside is 0-0 against Huntingdon in the Johnny Frost era, which are the most successful consecutive years in Riverside football history. Injury free game for both and safe travels to my friends from Huntingdon High School tonight. Go Panthers!
  14. That Huntingdon-McKenzie game is a backyard brawl every year. I'm glad you have that good rivalry. I usually pick Huntingdon to win it because they usually do, right?
  15. If RHS wins this one, IMO they will run the table in the regular season. This is possibly the best team we have had since 2010.
  16. Yes, it will be a packed house, and Huntingdon always travels well - a good gate for us River Life River Rats. I hope Ward, Jr. shows up. I'm going to get him to cussing. I wonder if he still makes trips or if he is too old now?
  17. But didn't the conferences last a few years after the playoffs started? Seems like I can remember Camden going to a bowl game because they didn't make the tssaa playoffs in 1973. The bowls were like consolations.
  18. These teams used to be in the Volunteer Conference before TSSAA got involved with the region divisions. I can't remember all the teams but I think it was these two plus Camden, Lexington, McKenzie, Chester Co., and a couple of others. You H'don guys correct me if I'm wrong if any are old enough to remember.
  19. Pulling for Trapp and the Tigers from Smithville Hill. Get after 'em boys.
  20. How are the donations of supplies and foodstuffs going? You guys got plenty? I've been seeing a lot of Humphreys Co. people in and around Camden since the flood. Just worried about you folks.
  21. Game of the week in my opinion. Riverside looking good; Huntingdon always tough. Who do you like in this one?
  22. BigPun, when is it going to be Herndee to Smitty again? I'm ready to see some more of that.
  23. You're right BigPun, Hickman Co. gave us a couple of very close games over the past five years. That's what I was thinking about. We had to come from behind to beat them at home about 3 years ago. They have not beaten us since Frostie has been here.
