  1. I'm for Lewis Co. but I think they will lose to Wayne again this year. I want Lewis to be 9-1 when they play Camden.
  2. I'll pick the Lions in an upset: 26-20. If you have to play Huntingdon (and we don't have to play them in the regular season), it's best to play them early. I'm glad everybody is picking them; and they should. I think our boys have as good a chance at Huntingdon as anybody HHS plays, except perhaps Milan, who usually spanks Huntingdon. The bottom line is: we like being the dawgs and we "ain't scared." P.S. I'm picking Westview over Huntingdon too. And if they get that far, which they probably won't, I'll pick Alcoa over Huntingdon just like I did last year.
  3. Hickman Co. by 20. The dam will hold for awhile, but when it breaks Swenson will do his best to run it up.
  4. Does anybody have any info on the Camden-McKenzie JV game tonight?
  5. Oh! HC is such a powerhouse! I guess they'll win another championship this year. Where are they? Puryear, Henry, or Springville?

    Union City

I've seen Union City scrimmage and they have everything it takes to win a single A crown. How come they are not even in the top 25 fan poll? Did you forget they moved down from AA this year? Somebody's going to be surprised when they end up, at the very least, in the top four in November.
  7. Camden loses 12-30 to a tough Westview squad. We might even lose another couple of games. I still say we'll have a home playoff game or two in Ctown this November. (This is a fan's point of view only.)
  8. Stewart Co. at Gleason should be a good game and win for the Tatertown Dawgs. The crowd should be decent too, because the Rebs know they have a fighting chance for a change. Dawgs 24, Rebs 12. Doesn't Stewco have a new coach....again?
  9. I'd like to see a Camden and Bruceton spring ending scrimmage alternated between the schools each year; bring out the bands, open up the concessions, and raise money for both schools. How would that be? For numerous reasons, I'm glad the Lions didn't go to the Huntingdon Jamboree this year, and I hope this trend continues.
  10. I think McKenzie has the best fans and they rock the house at home or away.
  11. Kevin Ward, Camden or Bobby Sharp, Lewis Co.
  12. Tickets at the gate. Expect a full house early.
  13. How did the Camden/Union City scrimmage go this afternoon? Does anyone have a run down?

    Waverly Tiger

Camden fan here: Waverly wasn't that bad last year, and they always usually play our boys tough regardless of their record. I'll say Waverly will go 6-4 or 5-5 and be well in the running for the fourth playoff slot. Let's not smack mouth them. Over the past 30 years they have beaten us when we should have won and vica versa.
  15. How did the three-way scrimmage go at Camden on Aug. 5th?
  16. Looks like a rumble in the jungle for the 3rd and 4th places here.
  17. If you dropped out of high school after sitting on the bench of a 4-31 team for three and a half years in the 1970s, and think you know everything there is to know about football.
  18. Loretto is to this region as LSU is to the SEC. They can pop up at anytime, anywhere, and pull out a victory that will seed them well in the playoffs.
  19. Isn't Fuller or his wife originally from Crossville anyway?

    The NEW 6-2A

I think the interesting aspect of this region this year will be the dogfight for the 3rd and 4th slots. With Camden and Lewis Co. playing for first place, the scramble will be between Adamsville, Loretto, Riverside, Waverly, and Houston for a playoff spot. I'm picking Loretto early for one of the slots, based on their past playoff appearences, and that leaves a tough fight for 4th. Riverside, Waverly, and Adamsville love the fact they have the potential to be huge wildcard teams. (On any given night these three teams can pull some big upsets too.) Houston might pull a surprise or two and Stewart has a nice stadium, however bad the road construction might be.
  21. Dez is ma brotha and he is the greatest.
  22. Waverly doesn't need to pack too much for the playoffs; they won't go far. They did bring a good crowd to Camden, about as many as we take to an away B-team football game.
  23. I didn't mean, or write, EVERY game was lost by double digits, but we did average losing by double digits to Huntingdon throughout the 80s. I can't remember how many times we have beaten them, but it is something like 6 out of the last 30. I agree you played on the best Camden Lion team until now. This is, by far, the best, deepest team we have ever put on the field in the history of the school - the team of 2004.
  24. I'd like to see the Carters move back to Camden by the time those boys get in high school.
