This Riverdale team is arguably the best team they have ever had. The 1994 and 2001 team were incredible. The defense has allowed 8 points in ten and a half games. Riverdale's run defense is absolutely stupendous. Like somebody stated above, they have not allowed a 100 yard rusher this year. If Cookeville was a passing team, I would give them a chance to win. Cookeville is good, I'm not denying that, but they will not beat Riverdale guaranteed. They didnt win 11 games for nothing. I have seen both teams play, and Riverdale is clearly the better team.

I know there has to be some opinions on who the best rb in state is!?

Hey I just thought of something else interesting. It would be cool to see Riverdale play Memphis Melrose, considering they put players in D1 colleges like its nothing.

Riverdale vs Gallatin sounds like a good matchup for next year. Personally, I would like to see Riverdale play Franklin or Ravenwood, or even somebody like White House, Hillwood or Stratford in 4a.

This should be a wonderful game. I think Austin East will rebound from last years playoff loss though and win this game. It will be close though. Austin East-27 Fulton-21

I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on this. There are a lot of sweet running backs in state, especially in the midstate. I'll throw a few names out there.... Gaston Miller, LaMarcus Coker, Roger Herndon, Patrick Johnson, Cedric Wilkerson, Jake Nunley etc..

Rockwood is a good team, but uhm, they wont beat Alcoa. The only team that will beat them this year is David Lipscomb, your 2004 2a state champs this year. Alcoa is too fast and too athletic for Rockwood. DL has loads of talent and size so it doesnt even really matter because either one should lose to them.

Personally I think Dave Thomas will win, but he shouldnt. And that is coming from a Riverdale grad. But I also do not think Nunley should get either. I dont know anything about duran or whoever. Honestly, Gaston Miller should at least be in the running. I dont care if he is a junior or whatever, he is arguably he best back in 5a this year. If LaMarcus Coker from Antioch had not gotten hurt, he would win this award by a wide margin. Also Preston Brown should get some consideration for what he did in place of Coker and alongside him as well.

Sorry Mt Pleasant, your amazing year will come to a close this Friday. Mt. Pleasant has an amazing offense, but they have struggled the last 3 weeks against decent teams. You cannot do that against the DCA defense. They have manhandled people this year. CPA looked absolutely stupid against them and they scored 28 against Riverdale, so what does that say? DCA scores about 30 or 35 points a game, but truthfully they only need about 14 or 21 a game. The only team that has a legitimate shot against DCA is obviously Boyd-Buchanon. DCA-38 Mt Pleasant-24

This game will be a very good defensive game. Franklin does not have that great of an offense, but they have a killer defense which is one big reason they will win this game. Brentwood has too many injuries coming into this game and Franklin will take advantage of that. If Ravenwood can almost beat Brentwood, Franklin certainly can with the defense they have. Okay, I like the fact that people are supporting Cookeville, but it is really ludacris to think that they have a shot against a defense like Riverdale's. I said a couple of days ago on here that Cookeville is boring and only runs 3 plays a game. Somebody responded by saying that they haved worked, but against what kind of competition? They will not work on Riverdale guaranteed. Riverdale allows very few rushing yards per game. The only way anybody will even score on Riverdale is by using a wide open shotgun pass offense. Cookeville has never heard of that. Keep on supporting Cookeville, that is good, but use your brains and realize they have no shot against Riverdale!!!!! Riverdale-48 Cookeville-0

Cookeville is the most boring and frustrating team I have ever seen in my life. They run 3 plays a game. RHS stuffs the run like its nothing so how is it possible that Cookeville will even score considering that is all they do. Let's put it this way. Friendship Christian Academy is not overrated. But no matter what, they will not beat Boyd-Buchanon or DCA so it really does not matter. They can beat anybody else in the class except maybe CPA, because they might outpass them.

Shew, I was at the first meeting and I was really impressed with DL. Patrick Turner vs Austin Rogers is an amazing matchup to watch. Goodpasture has been on a mission lately, but they dont utilize their weapons enough in their passing game, otherwise they could tear through a lot of teams. DL has the size, speed and depth and they should win not only this game, but the state title.
