I would have to agree with you. I went to a scrimmage of William Blount, they looked very good. I know that their season has not went the way they wanted so far, but beating Maryville would make everything different. I think Maryville will win, but it will be a tough game.

They weather was bad but we made it through it. The players played hard. I talked to a lot of the player after the game and they all said what I thought. "Maryville has a great team". I was upset that more Morristown West fans deceided not to show. Maryville had more fans than we did. That's sad. I still have many issues with MoWest coaches, but as far as the players go, they are first class. I hope that they can learn from these tough games and improve the rest of the season. Once again I would like to say thanks to Maryville fans for being top notch,

First of all, I hated saying it but somebody had to. Its been going on for a while, just unmentioned. Secondly, I am not related to anyone on the team, just a fan, and friend to many players. So for everyone who said that I was just an upset parent, eat crow, cause you have no clue. Finally, I am leaving gor the game now, Hope all fans arrive safe, and I hope Morristown West can keep it close. And for the fan who knows what talent is, keep an eye on #25 for West. His name is Bradley James, he is a senior, 5'9" 190. What a player. Good luck to all and be safe.

MoWest goes through cycles. In the 80's they always fielded a good team, then they went through a down time. Coach Woods was just enjoying a talent influx during his reign. He has helped the program in many ways, but his playing favoritism has also hurt. You can ask players past and present, and they will all tell you the same thing. If you call this good coaching REBELRON, then I would hate to think what it would take for you to say that there is a problem. I know you follow MoWest because of the match up every year with Maryville, but until you attend every practice, and every game for MoWest, leave your opinion about the coaching situation to people that know. As you have noticed, I have never said anything negative about Maryville. From what I can tell, Maryville has a top notch program with great coaching and players. When visiting you field, your fans have always been great. The fans of MoWest for the most part are the same. We are just getting frustrated with the same issues year after year.

If you look at speed and quickness. Bradley James from Morristown West stand outs. Keep your eye on him for the rest of the season. He's averaging 93 yard rushing and has returned 2 of the 4 kick offs he taken. Now that is solid numbers.

First of all Grizzly, Have you been watching the same coach as I have. I don't think so. Come to a game and listen to what the crowd is saying. Secondly, talk to some of the players, they will tell you how it is. DMoyers, no change in coaches, he did the same last year. We just had a defence that could cover up his mistakes.

I know many of the parents and coaches out there look at CoachT as a way to express their ideals and concerns. Many people have talked to me about the coaching at Morristown West. Most have been disappointed with Coach Woods because of him not using the best players but instead using the ones who parents have money or that he likes. So I deceided to give everyone a place to express their selves. And I hope Woods is watching, so he might finally get it. So parents and players, or just fans, lets here it.

I hope the kids at MoWest can keep it close, I know the coaching staff @ MoWest can't. This years proformance so far can be blamed on the coaching staff. I believe that this coaching staff lacks what it takes to win. Coach Don Woods plays the players that he likes, even though there are better players not playing. This is a shame. MoWest should be 3-1. We were out played by a good Swain Co. team, but the coaching staff blew the Jeff Co. game with bad play calling and using the wrong personal. I know the Maryville team will come in fired up after last year and am afraid that this will get ugly early. I just glad this is the last year I will have to put up with MoWest coaches and the QB Club. I quess that it takes money to play @ MoWest or kiss the right behinds. This is High School football, it should be all about the kids!!!!!!!!!!!

After watching the East/Jeff scrimmage, this shouldn't be a contest. Jeff looked lacking on offense. MoWest is improving so I am sure that Jeff is too. But this will not be a game. Jeff 14 MoWest 42

With Jeff Co. learning a new offence, I don't think that they will be able to move the ball. With Bible (29) and Chic (23) steping up on defence, they should be able to hold Jeff Co. in check. Also, MoWest offence has taken on a new twist. With a throwing game finally appearing, it will open up the field for James (25) to run. I look for this to be a big game for James (25), so don't count on it being close. MoWest 42 Jeff Co. 17

Bradley James of Morristown West, is coming on strong. Averaging 93 yards a game, plus being used on Kick return, punt block, and safety on defence. His numbers are solid and he is showing that he can be used almost anywhere.

Bradley James is healthy and hungry!!! Coach Woods does need to stop running him through the defensive line. He has speed and needs to be out where he can use it!!!! thumb thumb

Coacht, I am working with a high school senior this year helping him deceide which college to attend. His father is out of state and he has left me to manage this year. I and new to all of this, so there are many things that I do not know. He is a very talented running back and should have many schools looking at him. My questions is where can you find where he is listed as far as rank against other running backs in the state and nation. Is there a web site or book that has them all listed. Also, when can I start contacting colleges on his behalf. Any help in this matter would be helpful. Thanks,

Wow, you think Fanney got screwed out of winning Mr. Football in 4-A. He is top three in the state as a football player and is going to Alabama? I look at this Bama stuff pretty close and I don't think they are intrested in Mr. Fanny. Fisher from Hillsboro bama wants and another kid from Grundy County they also are talking to as far as TN kids go. Now I think Mr. Fanny is an very good DE, but I think he is wanted more by Virgina Tech. Good luck to him though. You also think "Morristown West..hands down is a better football team"? That is a strech. No sour grapes here but Maryville did not show up and there is no doubt Knox Central and Chatt Central are better teams not to metion the three teams who defeated west this year. I think when you get to see first hand that Hillsboro experienice on Saterday in Murfboro, you'll be a beliver. MoreWest has little chance at becoming the state champ this year in my opinion, but stranger things have happended. For your information, our 3 loses this year were all close. Cleveland beat us the first game of the season. Maryville beat use by 8 points in a very close game and Jefferscon county beat us which is a 5A school. We have learned a lot since Cleveland and Maryville speaks for itself. I believe that Maryville may be the best in the state, but we were the last to beat them before the streak began. And we ended their steak, so that says a lot for the MoWest program. If we played Maryville 10 times, it would be 5-5. That is how equal the two programs have become. I'm not tryiong to take any thing away from Maryville. As far as Hillsboro goes, I believe that it will be a close game, but do not believe that Hillsboro will have much luck running the ball. If they are to win, they must throw the ball and with only 13 completions thus far, it doesn't look good. West on the other hand runs the ball mainly, but can throw. Minnich is 43 for 95 with only three ints. That is pretty good for high school. He isn't going to beat you with his arm, but will keep you honest. I'm picking West in a close one. Just to let you know, our fastest running back (#25 James) has a pulled hamstring. He only saw limited action in the game and did not go outside. He is one of the quickest to the outside that I have seen in a long time. He will be at 100% for Hillsboro, so there goes your theory of only running up the middle. As for the field, MoWest played on the same field as Maryville did. It was equal for both of them. MoWest is not one dimensional. The have a great passing game which the showed off against Jefferson County. They did not us it in the game against Maryville because the conditions did not allow for it. As for the interceptions, Maryville did make some bad passes, but MoWest's defence put a lot of presure on the QB. He was rushed or hit on almost every int. Peewee #98 and E #42 had a great game. They put the presure on when it needed to be. Also, I don't forsee Hillsboro running on MoWest. So if Hillsboro wants to win, it will be through the air. Something that Hillsboro still has not proven that they can do.

Weren't you the one saying that Maryville was going to win big against MoWest? So now you're saying that MoWest has no chance against Hillsboro? That doesn't make sence unless you believe that Hillsboro is that mush better that Maryville. I believe that the two best teams in the state played Saturday. MoWest got the better of Maryville, but it could have went either way. I believe that Maryville and MoWest are very equal programs and this has become the campionship game for the state. I have enjoyed this pairing over the last three years and believe it will continue to be a great game. For all you doubters out there. Believe me, MoWest players and coaches want this win more thatn anything and will show up to play. For everyone who thinks MoWest has no chance against Hillsboro, I look forward to reading your posts after we prove that this is our year. Also, thanks to all the great Maryville fans. It is a pleasure coming to your field and having you at ours. Your school is top notch and the fans are too.

With Hillsboro averaging 43 points a game and allowing 13 against them, they look pretty tough. But lets look at both sides. Mo West averaged 30 points a game and only allowed 9.5. This looks to me like it will be a defensive struggle. I am going to the game and looking forward to seeing which defence will step up. I haven't seen Hillsboro play, so my choice is kindof bias. Mo West 17, Hillsbor 7. Go defence. By the way, keep an eye on 25. If he is full speed, Mo West will score even more. Proud friend of the team

Morristown West needs to be ashamed. Not of the team but by the lack of play calling by the coach. When he should use speed to the outside, he runs up the middle. When he should run the fullback on 3rd and 1, he tries an option. What is wrong with this picture. West has probable on of the most talented teams around, but the coach fails to use it. I hope he can learn from his mistakes. If not, this is going to be a long season.
