  1. The problem lies deeper than the kids. I went to the game against Jefferson County, Campbell Counties coach is a moron. He couldn't call a clutch play if his life depends on it. Several times it was 3rd and short, and Chris Johnson, one of the best running backs in the region, was never handed the ball. He also calls too many flashy plays when he should be keeping it simple for his team. And I know that Brance Stiner is a gamer, but who is suppose to be letting him know that you do not drop back 15 yards every time there is a pass play? Someone said that the D is holding their own. Several points have been scored on them this year. Last year they took people by surprise with their talent. This year people are looking out for them. This year the coaching staff has to step up.
  2. I have followed both teams this year, they both look like teams who are ready to break through and have a winning season. CC remaining schedule does look a little more promising, except for DB. Scott has to play the big 3 still, AE, Fulton, and AC. If they want a winning season, this is a must win for them. Both teams have grea rb's, and they both have good soph. qb's. With all that said, I still have not picked a winner....... Scott by an extra point. I believe that an PAT will be the difference. It will take one of the teams defenses to win this one. Scott-21 CC-20 thumb
  3. Bill Bates has to rank up there. He was All-American twice at UT, played 15 years with the Cowboys (winning 3 superbowls), and was the first player ever named to the Pro Bowl as a special teams player.
  4. Might want to check another team in the win category CampbellCo.man84. Scott will come to play. It will be another war on the field like last years. See ya at the game WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR DADDIES!!!!! GO SCOTT!!!!!!!!
  5. Scott looked bad in their win against Gibbs friday night. They might can win one like that every now and then, but if they come out looking that unimpressive against Loudon they may not be so lucky. Loudon is strong and will try to slow Scott's qb down. I do not know if hitting him hard is the answer, he has already taken some big hits this year and is yet to let it slow him down. Yes, he plays both sides of the ball, and that has helped his toughness. The question is, will the rest of their offense come with him this game? If he runs, they need someone to block, and if he throws, he needs someone to catch the ball. He can not do it all. Loudon is looking for a big win, they are due one. This one will be close, but I pick Loudon by 7. Maybe the playoffs will be in the Highlanders future next year.
  6. To those of you who believe "too bad....get better", it is obvious that your team is usually on the winning side. To the ones that believe that any coach can make a football team, there is this little thing called TALENT that is needed. Many schools have to dress everyone that comes out for the team, while others have the luxury of picking through alot of talented players. There are alot of factors that lead to a blowout. But that is not the topic, running up the score is. To leave your starters in the game when the win is secure is inviting the other team, the ones getting embarrassed, to take a cheap shot at your starters, and injurying them. You say, "That is not very sportsman like," they feel the same way about you running up the score. I am not saying that any coach would tell their players to do that, but these players are just kids in a uniform and they make alot of their own decisions when on the field. I know I did. When up by 4 touchdowns in the second half, it is more beneficial to get some playing time for your younger players. If the other team can not stop them either, there is nothing left for you to do. Those of you who think the score should be ran up, wait until you have kids on the sidlines and in the game.
  7. Campbell County may still be stinging after their heartbreak at Scott County. I believe the players have the ability to win, I am not sure if they have the leadership ability on the sidelines. Their coaches decision to go for two instead of kicking the PAT at Scott was a bonehead decision. Make the other team decide to win or go home with a tie. If the players do not take the lose to personally, the Cougars can pull off another win against Sevier. They have one of the fastest defenses in their region, and their qb is one tough kid. It may be another close one, but Cougars by 6.
  8. Not the dreaded question again? Seriously though, there is no need to address this thought provoking question. These two teams are not gonna play. It would take an absolute move of congress to put them together. Oneida is a strong single A school with good fan support and tradition. Scott High has been down the last couple of years but they are starting to build some momentum and expect them to be heard of a lot this year and years to come, if they can keep this coaching staff together. From top to bottom you will be hard pressed to find better quality people as well as football knowledge. They are an exceptional group. It would be nice to see these two proud programs meet on the gridiron, but it just ain't gonna happen. So therefore who would win is pointless. Good luck to both these teams.
  9. The Campbell County Cougars have great expectations for their game at Scoot High. They have come off two big victories and they are looking for three in a row. I am afraid that they will be disappointed with the final score Friday night. Though the Cougars are impressive defensively and much improved offensively, I do not feel that they will be able to contain all of the Highlanders weapons on offense. The Highlanders have a very talented qb and they have a number of very capable running backs. Their receivers may still need to prove themselves, but up to this point they have pulled through when needed. Defensively, the Highlanders manhandled Kingston Friday night. They controlled the line and their secondary looked very capable. They may still need to work on their kicking game, but the Highlanders look like a team on the rise. I pick the Highlanders in a close one. Sorry Cougars, maybe next time. NOT!!! WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR DADDY! HIGHLANDERS! GO SCOTT!
