  1. Stick to the topic.. You all got beat last week. Get over it and try and win out... Stick to the thread we dont care about the Kingston game anymore. For this one it will be close and it will come down to the wirre as always. The team with the turnover advantage will win..
  2. LC seems to be a team playing with a lot of pride they are meshing well. Last year they got rid of a bunch infections on their team and it is helping this year b/c they are play balanced team ball. Their is no standouts for this team, they are all average ball players playing their heart out. Kingston will have trouble with LC if they dont get their ducks in a row. Kingston is more talented, but that means nothing if you dont give it all for the team, and that showed with Kingston in each game except the AC game...LC does have a good running game, and stops the run well, except for AE...
  3. I have seen both teams, no one in the region with exception of AE has enough speed to stop Jefers for Scott Co. He is probably one of the best athletes in the region.. The key to stopping Jefers is to hit him hard. Last year at LC one of their players hit jefers hard on the sidelines, even though it was a 15 yrd penalty it slowed Jefers down tremendously.. Goodluck to both teams..
  4. Sean Mounts a bigger concern then Jason Sanders, he is fast and a harder hitter. Also Sanders is over coming off season surgery and still running for over 500 yards in 6 games. GIve him a break.. Fulton will have trouble with the toughness of the mavs, but if mavs get stupid with penalties then Fulton will win this one......
  5. Looking at the game I fill AC will split between Fulton and AE, now for which one they lose to or beat that is a toss up. The biggest question will be how Fulton and AE will hand the hard hitting of AC, and for AC the biggest question will be can they stop the speed of Fulton and AE, but don't be surprised for Scott Co, to give AC a heck of a game in the last game of the season. AC iin the past have had problems with the final game of the reg season... Good Luck, and I hope one of these teams from the region will go on and win state...
  6. I agree, that is the worst officiating I have seen and I wasn't a fan for either team, I just went to watch a good football game and they ruined it for me and my wife..
  7. I wasn't talking about his whole game being slow. Just his passing decisions, I felt like at ample time to throw in most situations, but that is my opinion.. I have only seen him play one game, but I will soon see some tapes of other games and get a better perspective, I am not shutting him down, I am just saying my first impression, and it has been wrong before and it will be wrong again, I am only human, and I look forward to see the tapes.. He is an incredible athlete and I could see him playing an option Quarterback, and that is why "I", not everyone, thinks he wouldn't be a good fit at QB at Tech and MTSU...
  8. For LC they have played over their head in the first weeks, but they match almost even against Kingston. The question is how will Kingston bounce back from last nights dissppointment. LC wont have to bounce back b/c they knew they would lose going in..FOr Kingston they will be out of the playoff hunt if they do lose this game. If they lose then LC is in the drivers seat with Scott Co right behind., but we really wont know b/c anything can happen in the most competitive region in east tennessee...
  9. I understand, but you know how Kerr likes to make everyone feel that Ac isn't as good as they think...FOr the behind scenes I know a coach for AC and they say this is the best talent they have ever had, and that is better then the 96 team who pounded their way in 4 A. But just like everyone else we all see come Friday. Forme I have no idea who will win, I just like to stir the pot a little..
  10. If you cant take the criticism then dont put his name out there to be criticized. As always ingnorance shines with people b/c they do not here the positive about a player they just focus on the negative. Mostly what I wanted to know was how he would fair at DB.. I know he can scramble and throw a meniocre ball, but His athletic ability could be a force on the defensive side.. So here is my reply and try not to focus on the negative, but maybe reply with decent info..
  11. Last night on a long run on 1st and ten, there was a holding call downfield that brought the play back. and made it 1st and nine, I know that it is from the spot of the foul in high school, but why reward the offending team even that yard, I know it doesnt really matter, but in these cases I feel it should either be from line of scrimmage, or from the spot of the foul with a loss of down. Why reward that team a yard for holding.....
  12. I help in recruiting and I have seen Edminston play. He is not the type of quarterback that TN Tech or MTSU would even look at. He has very slow decision making skills when throwing the football, but when he does throw he has a good touch, he doesn't always try to rifle it. His running game is spectacular and he is tough as nails, the first thing I would do if I were to recruit him is put him at defensive back, and see what his speed and toughness can mix up. For a High School Quarterback there isn't much better beside Jordan Jefers at Scott Co. but for a collge quarterback he is a dime a dozen in throwing the football. Goodluck to hime, and I hope he can make it College, I just would be very curious about sticking him at DB.
  13. i wouldn't say AC is struggling, have you even seen them play? Just b/c they got off track agianst Kingston doesn't mean they are struggling, It is easy for players to look ahead to the big games no matter how hard the coaches try to get them stay focused, and That is what AC did was look ahead, b/c they have the toughest finishing stretch in the region w/ Fulton, AE, Lenoir City, and Scott Co to play, and they are all the top runners for playoff spots. Of course Fulton AC will be a great game just like last year and the year before, they have always had about the most exciting games I can remember, but AC has the more experienced team which might hurt the Falcons once they get in a close game. Good Luck to both teams...
  14. The refs had no actual play in the game. Kingston had plenty of opportunities. But I guess for every losing team there is a losing excuse. Also, this makes AC more dangerous for now they might get their head out of their butts and play b/c their stretch still consists of FUlton, AE, Lenoir City, and Scott Co. And all of these teams are capable of beating AC. For Kingston, you have a young team and everyone has to pay their dues, also you all will get a few big wins down the stretch...
  15. as an outsider looking in I was quite disappointed. I traveled to Cookeville to see the game because I was interested in seeing Lincoln County. Yes the refs were terrible, but the o-line was awful at pass blocking and that is when they got most of their holding penalties. For the running game was spectacular. Dont even worry aobut passing for the rest of the season. You all have a great quarterback he just has slow decision making on the pass and the oline is good enough for that. It would of been nice to know how many sack yard cookeville had, b/c in the first half it seemed like they had several. For Cookeville, you better get in the weight room. This is about as weak of an offensive line as I have seen in 3 A and up. Your d-line was pretty good with the pass rush. Your secondary owes the d-line a thank you for effecting the passing game or it could of been even uglier. TO both teams good luck in the rest of the season.....
  16. I left at halftime. Cookeville got lucky on their only score. Lincoln would be killing Cookeville, but their o-line is doing a terrible job of pass blocking and QB has already been sacked several times. THe running game looks tremendous, they need to stay the running game for the rest of the season. THeir passing game wont take them far. #13 and #28 were quite impressive running..
  17. if you are such a good football player why are most of your posts the same time that most football varsity teams practice ? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  18. Actually I am 6'6 and 280 lbs, i started at defensive end in highschool, before i got hurt.. I also had several division II offers and a couple of small d 1 offers, which isnt the best, but I am sure it is better then any thing you will ever have......... also the reason i cover Tenn. football is to give scouting reports to a friend of mine who is a college head coach, which I will be working for as soon as i finish my masters..............
  19. Also, Clinton does have a ton of talent walking the halls, they have several feeder schools that have great programs, the problem now is b/c the way Clinton lays between Ac and Oak Ridge, if kids want they can find a way to transfer to better programs.
  20. I dont know for Gaylor but Kerr backs his coaches, and why should the assistant coaches get paid better, its not their butts that are on the line win the team is losing it is the head coach. You have to earn your right to the pay, and that is when you get to be a head coach. For Clinton the town is a clique, if you are a coach and are not part of the clique you dont have a chance. The clique wants certain boys toplay and thats it. It has nothing about talent and discipline is all about who you are. Catllett went in and tried to run the team his way and the "clique" didnt support him.....Catlett is a great coach with a good background he was on Halls State Championship team in the mid 80's played college ball, coached under Kerr, made great improvements at a dead school, Carter, and got stuck in the worst situation possible at Clinton. Also, dont expect Lambert to leave AC....
  21. Jordan Jefers is about as good as it gets. Even though I am a Scott Co hater, this kid is the real deal. He is about as fast of a player as I have seen, he isn't much of a passer, but he doesn't have to be. For a little skinny white boy from Scott Co I am quite impressed, If you get a chance go and see him play, their isn't a more one person team then Scott Co........
  22. Jason Sanders and Sean Mounts will both rush for about a hundred, and Jordan Walker on Defense will a stopping machine as always. If Kingston has a chance then they wont have any stand outs, they need a complete team effort, b/c they dont have just one or two players that can win games for them.
  23. I am not sure about wideouts, but in East Tennessee the wideout only makes the quarterback, the running backs and defense make the teams. Very few teams in Tennessee worry about the passing game as much, and the ones that do usually aren't as good. The last team I can remember being good passively was Sevier CO w/ Joey Matthews and that was like 5 years ago.........
  24. Hey ClamChowder, I have been reading most of your post and you sound like an abnoxious little brat. I have been covering high school footbball in Tennessee for 7 years and I have never even heard of Cheatham Co being any force to reckon with. And also, your little team bashing is what makes it very annoying to talk in some certain chats. Thesz boards are for the serious fan who actually has an intelligent thought of Football. ...SO have fun standing on the sidelines and watching your team, for no one will ever know who your are as a football player, b/c real football players don't have to show their a@$ on message boards, they let their playing do the talking. Goodluck and hope you all dont make the playoffs.....
  25. devun Dutton of Lenoir CIty has 8 through 5 games, but he does not have good total tackle numbers, all LC does is rush him towards the QB and they dont have him worry about the run as much.....
