Going to Shelby State and working in Tunica is not the same thing as getting a college diploma...... You must be talking about a different type of gold balls because outside of Briarcrest, there can't be that many sets in Memphis for girls basketball.

Isn't this the same Rick Smith that coached at Clarksburg?? From what I understand, he is lucky to be coaching at Jr. High. No principal in there right mind would hire this ticking time bomb.......

This is a pretty good poll with really no team left out that should be included. The order is not quite as I would have it. How can Dyer Co. be ranked #10 in the AP poll and not be ranked here.... Maybe it is because they don't belong in the AP poll??......just my opinion. The polls don't mean anything that is for sure. This is the weakest year for girls basketball in the past few years, again only my opinion.

Well, I have seen this coach in action for a number of years now in NW Tennessee, I have seen him scream and cuss officials as well as destroy a water fountain at one school. I am not suprised by his comments at all, what suprises me is that a coach doesn't get reprimanded because of such comments. I agree with the previous post....quit complaining and teach your kids how to make free throws.....

spree1024, good post you have your right to your opinion......there is not a team there that will make it to the 'Boro in March....most of them won't get out of their region....just my opinion.

Dudley from Gibson County is one of the best sophomores in the entire state.

My vote would be for Crystal Fuller from Huntingdon. It should mean something that she will be playing Divsion I basketball at UTM next year. Richardson is somewhat overrated in my opinion. Bailey fron Dresden is another good one, although they (Dresden) are not off to the best of starts this year. Just my opinion........

It is a good thing to dream....I don't think that Milan will be state championship material in 5 years, much less 2. To make a statement like that shows how little you know about girls basketball.

I think that WesCharge hit the nail on the head.......the little man in horse town will be upset and out to prove a point for the folks at Dateline. Remember what he did to Wild and Lawrence County last year by 57 I believe.......I wouldn't want to be wearing orange that is for sure.......Shelbyville by 48.......

I would agree with JCHS...I have seen all three play and I think that Marissa is the best of the three. However, it is still early and there is lots of basketball left to play.

The name "trojan" fits you well.....don't know much about Westview this year except that they are young, but I do know about Shelbyville and the teams from Memphis. I would love to see Craigmont and Shelbyville match up and watch Insel and Co. beat them like a drum....Fuller would score at will against Jackson and Newman wouldn't let Bullard touch the ball. I could see it easily being a 30-40 pt game..... The only way Shelbyville doesn't win the gold ball is if they have significant injuries. NOBODY TEAM FROM TN BEATS THEM THIS YEAR. Next year will be a different story though......

You're gonna need more than fans baby.......You could get shut out by Shelbyville and you won't score more than 30 on Jackson County.

trojanbob, that is an interesting list, but why did you put the collierville kids on it??? After seeing them play this summer, I didn't think they were very good. Just my opinion though.....

In Class A, I agree with WesCharge, I think Dresden can get it done if things fall in the right places. Others would be Clarkrange and Ezell Harding..... In Class AA, if Westview is there, I would be shocked. They aren't even the best in 13AA. (Gibson Co.). I think that the AA champion will be out of 7AA....could be a Jackson Co./Livingston state title game. How does that chant go??? HOG EYE TNT........ In Class AAA, Barring the injury bug, Shelbyville walks away with another gold ball. I don't care who comes out of Memphis, it won't be enough to beat Shelbyville. If there are some injuries though, then it becomes a wide open race.... In DII, I would look for a Harpeth Hall/Briarcrest Final. It is very tough to repeat.... Should be a great year for basketball....

I don't doubt Coady's coaching abilities, but it is hard to watch some of the skill players who display absolutely no guts. At least give an honest effort and don't play like it is powderpuff football. Westview does have some decent young talent, but if they don't develop some kind of killer instinct and desire then, well we may be in for a LONG dry spell.

There is no excuse for what happened on the field tonight. I just want to know how a program which has been competitive every year for the last 10 or 12 years ends up with a 1-9 record. (It will be 1-9, there is little doubt about that). I just don't understand it......there is more to it than just being a young team. Someone just please help us to understand why......

If you are 1-6, you don't get "easy" wins against anybody. If you think like that, you will lose....
