I hope that Lake County will play the best game they have all year...I want them to play for the pride of Tiptonville and Ridgely....I want them to play for The Bubbas and Big Mikey...I want them to play for the Dairy Queen that selld fried ocra...I want them to play for the All You Can Eat, Fish Chicken and Ham from Boyettes....I want them to kick the you know what outta JCS....BUT I seriously doubt that will happen....But I hope it does.

The only other time that I can find that these two teams have met was in 1999. The game was played at South Side and the final score was the Hawks dominating 35-6. Just trying to add a little bit of history to this match-up. SS-31 GC-24

You are sadly mistaken. Towater took the reigns as a sophmore and never looked back. I'm not taking anything away from Arment, but if you really think he has proven he is better in a handful of games you must know the guy real well. Everyone who goes to church with the kid would vote him for Heisman right now if they could. LOL. As for this team's D being better than 2000...who knows what will happen but just remember that the 2000 D set almost every record at SS. And that was after loosing Jabari and Slim. As for the guys that went to college Brent and Keith have played for 4 yrs. Big Myles started and played 4 and won a championship one of those yrs. Dylan was the starting MLB at Murry St. There are others that played elsewhere that I forgot to mention. Point being this, 2000 beat Milan twice on the road, beat JCM, played Crockett County in one of the most hard fought games I've ever seen, Had to travel across the state to beat Page who was 9-1 at the time, then had to beat Marshall Co. who was 12-0 at the time. This year's team might be good (and I hope they are), but it seems people are putting the cart before the horse. Good luck SS, but don't get too cocky yet.

Arment is good but he is no Jason Towater. This SS team is one of the top teams but nowhere near the 2000 team. That team had at least 8 future college players on it (Dylan Evans, Trey Utley, Brent McNeal, Myles Morrison, Adam Hayes, Jason Towater, Kevin Tosh, Keith Swift). Not to mention all-state running back T.J. Mosley, who had a ride to MTSU but somehow didn't take it. And I'm probably missing a few other players who got offers. With that said the 2000 team had a much BIGGER and better offensive and defensive line. And the skill players were just a bit better than this incarnation. But whatever...South Side takes this one 27 to 12.

I can't believe that this is a real thread. USJ doesn't stand one iota of a chance. Milan should put up 50+ in this game. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Even in their "glory days" USJ was OVERRATED. They moved up last year and got exposed, this year is no different. Except maybe USJ won't use an illegal player. Score- Milan 52 USJ 0

Facts are Facts...and the fact is that USJ is, was, and always will be OVERRATED. Now with that being said TCA is a team of young guys that in the future will be great...BUT not yet. USJ has lost the chip from their shoulder and they want to resurrect the old punching bag known as TCA from their past. Hurts me to say but USJ starts to turn things around this Friday. USJ-31, TCA-11. But I do see TCA having a winning record by seasons end.

South Side's o-line maybe just a little over-rated and under-tested. Big #79 is doing a good job but the left side of the line needs to learn to play alot meaner. They need a lesson from Micheal Church (c/o "00")and Myles Morrison (c/o "02"). Size is important but attitude is as well. The running back maybe the best South Side has had since T.J. Mosley (c/o "01") was there, but without the holes even T.J. wasn't going anywhere. The d-line just hasn't impressed me much but they have gotten the job done. As long as they stay fresh and keep firing off the ball then JCS might have to rely on the pass. Now for the pic...South Side should win this one. And they will as long as they don't get big headed from two wins over cup-cake teams. JCS has play making potential but they just can't seem to connect like they did last year. Final score....SS 34, JCS 17.

JCM will win this game and they will probably make the score an ugly one. This year's South Side team is average at best. Especially when compared to South Side teams of the past. They don't have the size, speed, or skill of the past and this will hurt them. SS's QB is horrible and a change is in need if the hawks want to score. JCM on the other hand seems to have all the pieces in place to make a run if they can only put it all together. I want SS to win but JCM will be too much.

Please do not nominate yourself, and if you do please disguise who you are. Furthermore NO ONE from Montgomery Central abused Ahmad Jackson or any other South Side player. The best player MC had was a running back that got hurt. It sure wasn't a late hitting (x3) lineman on an offensive line that had all of 40 yds the entire night. I was there, on your sideline, but I seem to have saw a different game. I believe the score was 49-0 with the freshmen team scoring the final 2 touchdowns.

Does it really matter who wins this matchup? They are going to get beaten in the next round anyways. Region 5-3A is possibly the weakest region in the state and it always has been. When Page went undefeated and said they weren't impressed with South Side, they got beat 25-0 at home. When Hightower led Marshall Co. to an undefeated year they were put out by South Side. The next year Marshall complained about field conditions in the Tennessan and then took a loss on the chin at home to South Side. Crockett County has also ended many a region 5-3A's season. No offense but Giles Co., and Montgomery Central do not need to be in 3-A. I am not saying that this year region 6-3A is the best in state but it is near the top and in the past they had the top three teams in state (2000, South Side, Milan, Crockett Co.) It seems to me every year some team from 5-3A gets the big head (I guess its fom the train whistle MC) and gets beaten. Maybe if you all would play football instead of gathering around the field to pay omage to 'Remember the Titans' (again MC) then you may be a good region. Some would say I don't know what I'm talking about but I've played in Page and had their crowd come behind our bench and throw things at me, I've had a certain head coach at Marshall Co. want to talk to me before the game to try and calm me down. I've been booed at MC and heard the many shouts of LEWISBURG while hearing that stupid whistle. Like it or not the season is about to end...and there is nothing that any team form 5-3A can do about it.

Coach Hayes will have the boys ready but he will have a hard time replacing Toe and Joe Walker. I played with them both and they really carried the team on their shoulders this past year. To all South Side players and coaches good luck next season. -Rhino c/o 02

This game will continue a history of great games between theses two schools. Good luck to both teams. Extra luck to the Hawks of South Side. ON a personal note MCTIGERFAN the field was not watered down, it was frozen, and two teams had to play on it, and if it was so bad then how come the next year you still could not beat them boys from the south, the real reason MC could not beat SS was that SS played in a much tougher region and played better opponents through the year, in the past years only one time has a team from that region beat SS, but SS has beaten Giles, Ended Page's undefeated season, Ended Page's one loss season, Ended Marshall County's Undefeated season, and my senior year we ended the top team from that region, Marshall County's season, MCTIGERFAN if you are going to try and say something about South Side get all your facts straight.

Lake County is making some noise, give them a couple of years and they will shine, they have some huge freshmen d-linemen that will be a hand full
