Who are some playmakers on both teams by the way? Who are the men working in the trenches on Huntingdon's team?

I don't think Alcoa would be dumb enough to do something like this. I think that article had to be done like a day or two before the dead period. I don't think news/media post articles like this one until like a week or two later after it was taken. Is there a link to this article? Surely the newspaper has a website. It would have been a good idea for the reporter and photographer to date the photo and article. If they would have done that and if the date read before the dead period, this thread wouldn't exist.

Mansfield will have the Mustang warriors ready and motivated. I don't know about the 1st half but Huntingdon will dominate the entire 2nd half. thumb

Huntingdon will struggle in the 1st half, being the 1st game of the regular season. When the 2nd half comes around, after Mansfield sets the boys straight, it'll be domination.

The cure for containing QBs like Fiegler and Hayes is having a D-line that's fast and can run through blocks like a battering ram. The '03 team had just about every bit of that, but that's all in the past, i know. I'm telling you, speed+strength is the key to containing those kind of QBs. Same goes for tough RBs like Rod Smith from Milan and Dustin Lindsey from Alcoa. So the cure is Speed+Strength.

Phillip "Boo" Weathers is the fastest kid on the Huntingdon Mustangs. I know he runs under a 4.5. No doubt.

If Alcoa and Huntingdon were to scrimmage right now, how do you think it would turn out?

I don't know who the WRs are this year for huntingdon, but I do know that cody crocker's got an arm. cody baker's good too, but i'd take crocker as the passer on the team.

Good list but Alcoa does belong in the #1 spot according to me preseason wise, even though I'm a Huntingdon fan. It's because they have much more comming back than Huntingdon. Huntingdon does have some players comming back, just not as much as Alcoa does. I see a rematch in the 2A finals from 2004 in this years state title game. I'd also like to say good luck to all the new teams that have came to 2A. Go Mustangs!

Well, I am from Huntingdon, but not born and raised there. I can tell you this. He's one of the greatest high school coaches I have heard of in history of high school football. You'll have to ask someone who played for him, like 'Blue Eyes.' I think he played for him. Not sure. Someone who played for him can tell you all the facts about Paul Ward. Paul Ward was always at our practices. But yeah, someone who played for him should tell you all the details. Any good news down there in Huntingdon? I can't wait til 2-day practices. I might come down there and watch a few. I'm really looking forward to this upcomming season. New schedules and new opponents. It's going to be exciting.

man, he not only ran from chris donald, he got ran over like a freight train. i did in fact enjoy watching the game. so many big plays. and yes. there were a lot of fast speedsters running around out there. but the question of Riverdale vs. Alcoa, no way. Riverdale would crush Alcoa.

All I have to say about this region is... There will be a different region champ every year.

It was a surprise when I heard Kegan had gone to play for Mckenzie. I wish him the best of luck. He's a player that really gets out there and gets it done. Now for Huntingdon. Can someone tell me a little about the starters on both offense and defense. I need to know this. I'm looking forward for another great season. By the way, what ever happened to Big Ced. He's still around right? Last time I heard, he had a messed up knee I think...and Who's these sophomores that are possibly going to be on the starting O-Line? Anyway, I've got to go. What's Huntingdon's schedule for this upcomming season? I'm dying to know. All I have to say for the O-Line & D-line is to play smashmouth football like yall were taught how to do. Dang I wish I would have went to college to be a teacher, I could apply at Huntingdon High School as a coach.

why don't they have a real "state championship" between the top 2 teams in the state 'period'. 1 team from the west of TN river and one team from the eastside of the river. the entire state i say. then we'll see if east or west is better.

Westview will be good next year i hear. I expect them to go far in the playoffs next season as well as huntingdon and milan.
