  1. gleason actually did play westview this summer in a scrimmage, and beat the breaks off of them
  2. lets get this thing kickin now, i think gleason will emurge victorious again, just because, its dresden, i like dresden folks and what not, but they stink at losin, and it does make it a bit more fun to watch. dresden will try to get in a three point match with gleason and that will be exciting if gleason slacks off again and misses tons of shots, but if glesaon is shooting like they should, it will be bad for anyone who tries to match gleason shooting 3's, including dresden and kaci-i-hit-a-30ft-3-against-trenton-that-was-awesome-bailey, so good luck for all ya'll
  3. this game was a complete fluke, gleason shot so poorly that their shot percentage for the game could be multiplied by two and it still wouldnt be as high as our season average. i seriously think that south fultons goals must be set to a different height. we have the best sophomore back court in the state, yet we hit hardly any 3's, now for most teams that might not seem so out of character, but for gleason, that is more crazy of a thought that santa clause comming to visit in october. the refs werent great, but they werent impossible to overcome, gleason just didnt make anyshots, it was not the same team that south fulton will see come next time around when we get them at gleason, that will be a sad day for red devils.
  4. you poor fellers must not have taken the trip up to northwest tennessee and sat in the new gym on 99 and 92 state drive and watched a certain ms kayla hudson play baseketball. shes not just playing but she is smoking other teams. when she has a game that other folks call bad by not scoring so much, she is dishing the ball to other team mates. no doubt the best sub 5'5 player in the state in all divisions, and one of the best overall, a true team player that makes everyone on her team better and the ability to create her shot when needed. and shes a sophomore, so i feel bad for folks this year and the next two, cause she wont graduate without a state championship ring. she may even get a pair
  5. gleason girls win 54-52 with the help of i believe 24 from the point guard kayla hundson
  6. it was played at milan country club
  7. milan won region 7a with a 302, low golfers in the boys were clay mallard of milan and kirk rogers of gleason with a 74, clay took home first medalist after winning the first playoff hole against rogers, wesley stewart of humbolt was next with a 75, then 3 milan golfers shot a 76 and the last person advancing to state in the boys is ryan smith with a 78 i believe after he won a 2 hole playoff to get in. in girls action peabody won first with a 182. the over all medalist was a girl from halls with an 87 and the meece girl from trenton and the brighton golfer tied for 2nd with an 88 and ellen owen from gleason advances to state by placing 4th over all with a 90 and being the 3rd lowest score after the trenton golfer meece's score was dropped
  8. this is the dumbest post ever, but i would say either coach russel of gibson county or coach randy frazier of Gleason, coach frazier has been competitive so many years, and is with short little country girls of Gleason, the last and only time we ever had a "big" girl was in 1992 when leanne bell was on the team, at i believe 6'3 she was the biggest to play for Gleason, and now we are still beating mch better and more athletic teams with 5 girls, in which none are ever taller than 5'7, if coach frazier was handed a team with as much natural athletic ability and skill as a team like trenton, he could take home a gold ball in any division in tennessee
  9. that would be 7a not 8a oops my bad
  10. well i think folks in state need to watch out for the sleepers, some people have their best and worst days under pressure, i know of two golfers that are from west tn that are 2 of the top 10 in the state when those top 10 play golf like they know they can. those boys are Wesley Stewart-Humbolt and Kirk Rogers-Gleason Wesley, a jr. is a strong all around player that can HIT IT A TON, small build @ 5'10 maybe 150 lbs, won the district tourn with a 75 Kirk, also a jr. is a pip sqeak at 140 lbs dripping wet with rocks in his pockets @ 5'11. but this kid does have a little muscle on him that allows him to knock it out there about 275 off the tee pretty consistantly, but the key to his game is hitting the greens in regulation, from 100 yrds and in, i would not pick another kid in the state to have hitting, putting on the other hand...it comes and goes, one day this kid can knock it in from newhere on the green, other days he would be lucky to 2 putt from 5ft. the 2 putting from 5ft is what caused him to throw up a weak 84 at districts at a easy course in sharon, but his true talent shined thru the next week in troy where he shot a 2-under and tied...yep you guessed it...Wesley, the two had a playoff and wesley had an unlucky bounce on the 2nd playoff hole, a reachable par 5, thus kirk had a relitivly easy win, although he did reach the green in two, he 3 putted for a par and the win in region 8a i would like to wish luck to both of these players next week at state and these two kids should cause lots of fireworks next year as well, both will be back as seniors now as for the girls, all one can say is usj, they are the best team in the state, hands down, but done ever count out the girls from gleason, who are heading to state for the 2nd year in a row although having a rough district and regional showing due to a wrist injury, senior maegan sullivan is the teams' ace she has the capability to go into red figures but has to have her approach shots working, which is usually just a wedge cause i have never ever seen a girl hit a ball as far as she does, the number 2 girl golfer for gleason is junior ellen owen, most ppl could prolly throw her farther than they could hit a golf ball, miss owen is about 5'4 @ 85lbs, she doesnt hit the ball very far, nor sometimes very straight, but she knows how to manage a golf course and almost never shoots over 85 on 18 holes. and the number 3 golfer is senior kristy newsome, who is a solid all around player, she is very streaky with her long tee shots and sometimes arrant approach shots, can go low with a good day with her irons..katie spain is gleasons alterante in the state, katie is a very good ball striker that can dip below the 90 mark as often as she lets herself, if she can get past the mental parts of the game she wouldnt be an alternate, but being an alternate on this team is no put down, cause i would take our alternate over ANY PERSON IN REGION 8A,(maybe thats why they are goin to state again??)
