  1. If we have sent our money in already, why can't we get all the boards on different computers. I can only get all the boards at home. I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you explain a little further? I am Bill#49 but I have forgot my password and I must have sent in the wrong e-mail address because I have requested my password. I just simply signed up again as Bill#73. I still can enjoy all the boards at home but not at school. Help me out CoachT. Thank you Bill#49 I think you will be able to fill in the blanks for your password for bill#49. If not, email me: v-----5- thanks

  4. Still the same lovable face but a little greyer on top. haha. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN COACH!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Just wondering how many high school kids are using these types of supplements. I found this article from The Atlanta Constitution today. http://www.ajc.com/highschool/content/spor.../07hsissue.html
  6. have come out of 5 counties." My question is What is the percentage out of that 70% is private compared with public?
  7. I coached with you at Mount Juliet in 1989. You are one of the finest coaches I ever had the privilege to work with. Finally got the monkey off your back. I know you had a good cigar after this one.
  8. You, sir, are speaking with your heart and passions and not with your brain. The TSSAA is not cheating your kids...Might I remind you that the PUBLIC schools have the control of the Legislative Council at TSSAA? Do I need to remind you that they voted as a board should- based on the good for the whole group? Your "kids" are being cheated out of a good life lesson that things aren't always easy when their coach gets on a message board and whines about being cheated. Do you feel cheated when congress doesn't vote the way the majority of Americans feel? Lazurus, can you avoid the second-grade tactic of spelling things in an insulting fashion and join our grown-up conversation. Bill73, first, recruiting wasn’t allowed in D-II when goodpasture was in and it isn’t now…but…whether they recruited or not, the moment they went to Division I they had to take all the financial aid away from athletes since that is not allowed. You obviously don’t understand what is going on here. And also Bill, for your records, Lipscomb was never in Division II, so if they recruited, then they did it in D-I. If you can prove it then turn them in…if not, keep quiet! Everyone tries to make the private schools of Tennessee look like the Nazis invading Poland…when it all boils down to the truth, this should all be about lessons learned on the field…and the lesson learned is ultimately that everyschool is not going to be a winner…for one reason or another, there will be schools that aren’t as good as others, but turning this into a finger pointing contest is wrong. These whining people need to look in the mirror and figure out what the problem really is… Let’s all just play together and stop all this “It’s my ball so that’s why I am going home” crap. I can prove it not at lipscomb but at another Chattanooga area school. But what would they get if they were turned in a slap on the wrist. 1 or 2 year probation. More trouble to turn them in then it is worth. YOU KNOW IT IS DONE IN THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not by the administration but by people connected to the school. It gets done by others, parents of other kids, church groups, etc. Quit trying to be "holier than thou" your halo is on to tight!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  10. What is the process of getting into your halls though??????? Put the entire coaching staff at MBA, Brentwood Academy, Boyd, Baylor, McCallie at Red Boiling Springs, Clay County, Lookout Valley, Rockwood, and Tennessee Prep and see how many state championships they win there. If it is just bad coaching at these public schools. No disrespect to the public schools mentioned.
  11. They stayed in DII long enough to recruit the best athletes possible legally then they turned around with those same athletes they recruited legally while in DII and beat the pants off the DI schools for the next 4 years. Look at the results the next 4 years immediately after going from DII to DI. But I guess it was for academic reasons and not athletics.
  12. If it isn't the only benefit what does Boyd, Lipscomb, Goodpasture insist on playing public schools? They know they can't compete $$$$$$$$ against the richer private schools MBA, Brentwood Academy, Baylor, McCallie etc
  13. It sure doesn't hurt if they can play a little football between chemistry and physics though does it?
  14. It is a public school competing against a public school. They take who comes through the front door and they make a team out of the kids they have no choice in taking. Can the private schools understand this? We have to take everyone that knocks on the door. DO PRIVATE SCHOOLS?
  15. CONGRATULATIONS GREG SMITH, TYNER ACADEMY
  16. How is the game going? Let us all know what is going on. THANKS
  17. VG did you get a chance to read my new thread on public/private board? Public / private solution article out of the Chattanoga Free Press this morning.
  18. http://www.coacht.com/story.cfm?doc=4480 click here David Lipscomb @ Alcoa Riverdale @ Oak Ridge and one more is here
  19. I am stuck at home tonight everybody and want to listen to a game on the internet. Let me know where I can find your playoff game. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Baylor Athletic Director Austin Clark said this in the paper this morning and I was wondering how it would be implemented after the regular season was over. How would you determine the seeding for the playoffs? Here is his quote. "I would like to see us go back to the old districts we had years ago. That would help the private and public schools with scheduling and make for less travel. Then they could spin us off into private and public schools to compete for championships. I think that would be a great opportunity to treat everybody fairly." I could live with this solution. I have no problem competing against private schools during the season but I believe public schools should compete against other public schools in the playoffs. I can't believe it...I am agreeing with someone from a private school. There is hope VG and BaldCoach.
  21. http://www.tssaa.org/Votes/Adm2002.htm Following the administrator's meetings as of October 10, we have received input from 333 of 368 (90%) member schools regarding classification for 2005-2009. The staff will continue to secure input from the remaining schools that have not voted. These numbers will be updated one time prior to the December 3 Legislative Council meeting. In regard to classification for 2005-2009, 127 (38%) schools voted to stay with the present plan for Division I/Division II. In regard to classification for 2005-2009, 206 (62%) schools voted to make a change in the present plan. If a change were made, 162 (48%) schools voted that Division I should be all public and Division II should be all non-public schools. If a change were made, 140 (42%) schools voted that that enrollment of Division I non-public schools would be multiplied by 2.0 and Division II would remain as is. If a change were made, 32 (10%) schools did not favor the option to split or the 2.0 multiplier. Some of these schools listed comments for other suggestions. According to the TSSAA site 62% of the schools want a change. It also looks like, to me since I am not as intelligent as VG maybe he can clarify, that a huge majority wants something different than what we have now. The schools just cannot decide whether a multiplier (42%) or a complete split (48%) is the way to go. I do not see anywhere where people want to bring the private schools back from Division II. I also don't see anywhere where the majority would welcome the current situation to continue (38%).
  22. Well, when they put us all back together ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS SHOULD SIMPLY LEAVE THE TSSAA AND FORM A COMPLETELY NEW ORGANIZATION. One way or the other, either the private schools leave the current system or we start another. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!!
  23. We might as well get ready to create a new association because the lawsuit is going to destroy the TSSAA. When the new one is created privates go there way and publics go there way. No reason to fuss, ###### or moan. I hope to goodness the new director of the new organization is not Ronnie Carter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I don't have to think about it!!!!!!! Look at the proof. The privates got tired of getting their brains beat out by the public schools so what did you all start doing. Instead of just letting the "brainy nerds" come to your schools now you say OK can you play a little ball to help out our teams. The ones who have a little more athletic ability get first crack at admissions. You can say yes we will take you or no you don't meet our qualifications. Public schools can't do this. We take who comes to our front door. You pick and choose your kids. How can you say this is not an advantage that only the private schools have. If you are accepted at the private school of course you are a little bit more motivated than the average public school kid. Mom, dad or booster is footing a bill to send me to school. I will bust my behind to make them proud, especially that booster. Brentwood Academy a few years back decided they had had enough of the talk. What did they do? Moved to the highest level of high school sports - 5A. What did they do after that? Didn't miss a beat Clinic Bowl, Clinic Bowl, Clinic Bowl. This is a school with about 300 kids in it competing against schools with over 2000. Of course you private schools don't think for a minute this is way out of line. If the TSSAA adopts a multiplier for you guys they are passing the buck to the 3A and 4A classes that will be dominated by the privates just like 1A and 2A now. If I am competing against a school like Riverdale, Greenbrier, Austin-East, Sequatchie County or South Pittsburg and I get beat at least I know that their kids grew up together and live in the same general area and I can live with that. We played a private schools several moons ago and they had more out of state tags on cars then we see when we go to Six Flags in Atlanta. It was unbelievable. So no it is not my "private must go" speech that I so often say on here. But believe me I hope in the December meeting the public schools say to all the private schools, "DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YOU" as your walking out the door!!!!!!!!
