The penalty at the end of the 1st half (unsportsmanlike) was on #15 of Covington., not the Covington coach. He made a reaction to the controversial 1st half ending and must have said one of the "magic words". The penalty flag was on the ground way before the Cov Coach confronted the ref.

why didn't Milan's Coach PUNT THE BALL in the 1st half...went for it on 4th down 3 times with some kind of crazy shift play and didn't get any conversions and gave Covington excellent field position. Milan got outplayed AND outcoached. Also. the refs were idiots...example..on change of posession, the clock is not supposed to start until the next snap...ref wound the clock several times on change of posession..until the last few minutes of the 1st half when he knew he'd get caught..total incompetence..and this is not a judgement call..it's a basic understanding of the rules..but the TSSAA will do nothing...

small correction westTN...Milan didn't lose to Mitchell in the semis in 2002..lost in the quarters on an abondaned dirt bike moto cross piece of land in Memphis they called a "stadium". I believe that was 2 weeks after a 9-1 Huntington lost in the 1st round to a 4th place team. TSSAA should outlaw any play-off games in Memphis...their fields are dangerous to the players (didn't say to the fans...don't wanna go there)

Milan pulled out a win tonight against a very much improved Henry County team. Boneheaded moves by Milan's coaching staff and players in the 4th qtr. almost let HC tie and go to overtime/or win the game outright. 2 examples...Milan scored last play of 3rd qtr to go up 21-0......HC 96 yd TD return...blked ex pt...Milan 21-6...Milan gets KO...puts in 2nd string QB handing off to a 4th string TB...fumble..HC takes it in..gets 2 pt pat...Milan 21-14 w/4 mins left...Milan gets KO....4th and 5 from own 48...punt formation....upback goes up to center and takes snap and SPINKS THE BALL???...HC got inside the 20...starting QB gets hurt and 2nd QB fumbled the snap a few plays later..Milan recovers and kills clock. I'm a Milan fan, but this performance tonight wasn't a Jeff Morris coached team type effort.

from what I've seen, Milan's got big time QB problems...2 sophs are the only options and both of them have problems taking snaps...off tackle left and right are the only plays I've seen them run in their scrimmages

Since the Jackson Central-Merry baseball parents decided they wanted to fire the baseball coach, they've lost 2 more coaches. "Asked to resign" baseball coach Todd Lumley's wife Teri also resigned as head girls basketball coach. They're both going to Trenton. Head football coach Jim Hardagree resigned and is going to USJ as "co-head coach" and Dean of Students. Word is he was wavering, but USJ came up with the money.

Since Covington forced a game 2 with MC, I think that solidifies Milan as the favorite Fri night due to the fact that both teams will have to use 2 starting pitchers each today. Just my opinion, I could be wrong
