  1. Hey Wavelink, I knew you couldn't hold out much longer. What are we gonna have to do to get this thing right before playoff season. One more loss and it will be basketball time in Gallatin. Glencliff and McGavock have made things rather interesting. Congrats to both programs. I hope somebody smarter than me can clear things up but I think the best we can finish is second.
  2. Beech is right in the middle between Hendersonville, White House, Greenbrier, and Gallatin. Four teams that are pretty good. Tends to make them look even worse. Then you shift a few players to Station Camp. I don't know much about the coaching staff but the team is obviously in a tailspin right now. It may take a coaching change but they don't really have a way to develop young talent before it reaches high school age.
  3. I expect the Wave's defense to be much more intense tonight. I just hope we can find some consistent offense. Turnovers have been an issue in both team's losses and may decide this one. We have to do a better job of cutting off the corners or it will be a long night tonight and next Friday as well. Good Luck Wave. GWave, are you gonna help me hang some signs Monday? If we lose I think I have the flu.
  4. 82cat it's hard to argue with your reasoning. I just hope my GreenWave is back on it's "good game" swing after this latest good game / bad game rollercoaster.
  5. No whatchacallit, last week Coach Walls was Bear Bryant Jr. This week he's Watson Brown. Seriously, as young as this team is we are going to have severe swings like this. The coaches obviously will have to take some blame as well. It is after all their job to have them ready week in and week out.
  6. On paper I would probably say yes. On the football field, well?
  7. Sorry GWave I just found your thread. I submit.
  8. Sensation, I agree 100 percent. Gallatin's clock management is atrocious. My biggest question goes unanswered...WHY ISN'T MACFARLAND GETTING MORE SNAPS!!!!! We have scored on nearly every series he is in. Nothing against Shipley. I would love to see him back at receiver and the offense opened up a little. GWave was on the money Fri. night. If we are going to continue to run, run, run, then go back to the power I and get a lead blocker in front of Harris. A word of advice, be patient GreenWave fans and remember how many soph's are starting. Coming off a big win against Antioch we should have guarded against a letdown. McGavock was just ready for us.
  9. Hats off to McGavock. They just wanted it more. As GWave has already stated you can't win turning the ball over. It is also very hard to win with a one dimesional offence. We will have to continue to eat our words for a while longer but enjoy this while you can. We don't give you too many opportunites. Congrats to McGavock and their new coach. They were well prepared for us. Thank you to all you Gallatin folks. We again showed what we are made of by taking it with class. By the way...Feliz...of course I haven't responded in two days. I don't work on Saturday and Sunday.
  10. It wasn't a pretty sight. Some of the football dad's got pretty upset. Cooler heads prevailed. The coaches and a couple of Sumner County sheriff's deputies actually made a wall and kinda let them do their dance and it was over. Beating us bad while we were down was hard enough to take but that was rough. As a graduate of Gallatin and now a parent I'll say that HL went a little too far.

    Region 5-5A

Can Beech or Glencliff POSSIBLY pull an upset tonight? Nevermind...it was a ridiculous thought.
  12. Two years ago at Hunters Lane Gallatin played there for HL's senior night. Evidently they have a tradition of making a final lap around the track in front of the crowd. Gallatin's fans gave these kids a standing ovation prompting some to make a second lap around to the visitor's side. Why, because the home side probably didn't even have enough fans to have one parent for each player and cheerleader. That is the kind of class Gallatin has. I wish a Hunters Lane student that happened to be there that night would log on and verify my story. Gtowner is right about our fans and team watching as Hunter's Lane spit on and jumped up and down on our G. Some of the players were understandable upset but we have more class than that. I am sure the same will be the case at McGavock tonight.
  13. Coach Joslin is doing a fantastic job and seems to really motivate his guys especially in big games. He did the same at Gallatin. However, Antioch is probably a little ticked and will prove they are good even without Coker. Antioch by 13. 98.9 Radio show reported last week that Coker has a partial tear in his hamstring and could possibly be out a minimum of four weeks. Anybody have an update?
  14. By the way, McGavock is much improved over last year. Their OC obviously is much better than the past few years but I think even Antioch will tell you Gallatin has an ace up their sleeve...Coach Walls
  15. davidson, to a degree I have to disagree. Look at the crowds at some of these games. Just as big a problem is apathy. I sincerely hope that this never happens to your team. For all of you Gallatiin haters who are jealous of what we have accomplished, you have no idea how bad this hurt such a tight community/team atmosphere. Throw all the barbs you want but Gallatin still supports it's team. You guys royally stuck it too us so at least allow us to vent. I agree and have posted that this GreenWave team deserves to make it's own mark. Last year has nothing to do with this year's region championship. The worry is there will be some knotheads that just want to make trouble. Let's all just hope that is not the case. As far as the gate, this whole fiasco will only GENERATE interest.
  16. wavemachine, None of us really want to re-live the mess from last year but let's all be honest, we have been looking ahead to this game since it all happened. The current group of players deserves to make their mark on the field and make their own legacy in Gallatin GreenWave history. I just absolutely hate what happened to guys like Sergio Bowers who fought his way back from a bad knee injury, William Stevens(knee injury), Seth Clark who nearly died in a car accident, Jamison Link played injured at times. That whole class, Big B, Sam, Clint, Grant, Blane...I can't even remember all of them (sorry if I left you out) but my point is those guys deserve something. They worked too hard to get Gallatin back to the top to just have it all taken away by a bunch of adults who have forgotten what high school football is all about...high school students...kids. I hope above all that tempers stay in check and sportsmanship rules the day. Of course I want the Wave to win by 100, but most of all I want us to rise above and maintain what has made Gallatin special.
  17. 5-5A will continue to be tight. Most of the big boys still have to square off but I expect Gallatin, Hunter's Lane, Antioch, and Hendersonville will have to fight to the end to see where the chips fall. McGavock is currently 2-1 in the region but won against 0-3 Beech and 0-3 Glencliff. So far the scores have been tight between the top four teams: H.L 17 Hend. 14 Gallatin 7 Antioch 0 H.L. 28 McGav. 14
  18. Coker has been struggling with a hamstring injury. On the radio show out of Lebanon someone reported that he may have a partial tear. I hope that is not the case. I think they said about four week recovery.

    Beech Bucs

What has happened to Beech lately. Have you guys lost players to Station Camp? I will admit I don't know exactly where the zoning lines are drawn so I honestly don't know. What seemed to be a solid program has fizzled the last couple of years.
  20. Who was #7 for Antioch. He was injured late in the game and I didn't notice him towards the end. He was all over the field early on. I think he played DE.
  21. Best game I've been to in a while. It was a head knocker.
  22. whatchamacallit were you at the game?
  23. Gallatin folks love Shipley. I think he won the starting nod because he is a better passer. Not a bad runner as well. GWave will tell you I have wanted MacFarland as my starter all along with Shipley as a receiver (especially with Hall's broken hand). But Lassiter knows his stuff. I hope Kyle puts up a ton on McG next week. Good Luck Wave.
  24. Whatchacallit, No disrespect intended to Shipley but he is not our best player by any stretch. Go back to last week and see who qb'ed on the Wave's scoring drives. Macfarland two scoring drives, Shipley one. I don't know why Macfarland is not getting more snaps but he's good. Gallatin does not have a stand out player. Just a good TEAM. Coker obviously would only have helped Antioch last night but I agree with several of the earlier posts, a healthy Rusty Fisher, Donte Hall, Brad Jones, Taylor Young......etc......most of those guys played hurt. By the way, the first play Brad Jones came in on, he didn't just pancake his man. He drove him ten yards down field then buried him. Good job Brad (and only 15 yrs old...whew!)
  25. Word is someone painted a big "A" over the "G" at midfield, painted on the pressbox, and the state champ sign. Right on Redbaron...it's hard to run without your legs under you. GWave...it's on now. Come dressed for battle.
