  1. First of all, I am a Shelbyville fan and I can say this. Shelbyville is AVERAGE !!! Our district is AVERAGE at best. You went undefeated during the regular season in a district where the two best teams are AVERAGE. An AVERAGE Shelbyville team beat you in the tournament championship. This is not an attempt to "lessen" anyones accomplishments and I do not believe that Hawse40 was attempting to do that. He is simply stating a very obvious fact. Shelbyville and Lawrence Co. are both AVERAGE TEAMS !!! I will be pulling for all teams from our district in the region tournament but I am realistic enough to know that it will be an uphill battle against district 7AAA
  2. Just wondering. Are the students at LCHS who were identified as to having been in the fight athletes in other sports?
  3. There were coaches from other SCHS sports at the doorway to the gym in that corner. There were parents of SCHS students directly above the LC student section. I, along with my best fried were standing on the rail directly above this entire incident. What kind of statement is that to make? I think that we would all have to agree that things happened very quickly so I doubt that any of us had time to look around and take all of the names of the people who were "right there". With all due respect, of all of the crazy and inaccurate things that have been stated on this topic, to say that NO ONE except LC people actually saw anything takes the TOP PRIZE. I CANT BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY SAID THAT
  4. All you have in a situation like this are the observations of fans, etc. If a video existed that the TSSAA used, that showed the fight, then I am not aware of it. The only video I have been told about shows the LCHS fans back at the bleachers before anything else happened. I don;t know if the TSSAA was shown that film or any film. You are left with the independent observations that you compare to find common ground. The TSSAA will never tell what that based their decision on, specifically. The TSSAA did have a film. I am not sure what it showed but they did have one. There was another film to be sent but my understanding is that the punishment was already decided before it had a chance to get there. The TSSAA did listen to the administration from both sides and some comments from fans. Not sure what they based their findings on but those things
  5. That's my point guys. The father admitted that it was not malicious. I just find it odd that no one from LC can admit that their accusations of assault were not true. If the Principal is expected to apologize for his words the people who accused the coach of assault should be expected to do the same. I am not trying to argue with you. I am trying to understand why no one from LC can admit that they wrongly crucified the coach on this site for something that the parents decided was "not malicious". Is that so hard to understand? Can no one from LC step up and admit that they were wrong with their accusations of assault?
  6. I did but I didn't intend to. I had gone back and edited my post to say SCHS fans, meaning the ones that post on here. Not sure Mr. Embry has taken responsibility for some of the comments he made to LCHS fans and parents that night, though, comments which were about as classless and negative as you can get. Ok CoachT, I tried to get this point across on another thread only to be told to go to another thread. Let's try this. If we can talk about the SCHS Principal on the Emmanuel Andrews thread then this should be ok. We'll see. If the SCHS Principal should take responsibility for his alleged comments can the Lawrence County people who accused the Shelbyville Coach of assault and stated that he pushed a cheerleader down take responsibility for theirs? You stated earlier that the cheerleaders parents did not want to pursue charges because they felt that what the coach did was in their words, "not malicious". That means there was not Intent. In other words, an accident. He had enough class to apologize for an accident and these parents had enough class to admit that he did not mean to do it. Can you or any of the Lawernce County who have and continue to bash the coach extend that same apology to him? Step up people. The parents admitted it. Can you?
  7. dooleydaffy--good post...except the stuttering part i resent that lol Some of the people are glad to hear that the parents of the young lady are convinced that the situation with the coach was not malicious. This meaning that there was no Intent. It is also good to hear that the coach offered an apology even though it is apparent that there is enough blame to be shared by both schools. Question is that if the parents can see that there was no intent can the people who accused the coach of assault and stated that he shoved a student to the floor be adult enough to offer that same apology to him?
  8. I guess that answers that question. Help me out here Wildcat. How many parents would not file assault charges against a High School coach who "shoved" / "assaulted" their High School aged daughter? Something doesn't add up.
  9. ..and PLAYERS OUT OF THE STANDS. ...and COACHES AWAY FROM CHEERLEADERS. Sorry you brought that up but since you did, How is that "Assault" charge progressing? I myself know how it is going, do you?
  10. Thanks for the kind words Binns. It's refreshing to see that someone with no ties to either school can see the importance of KEEPING STUDENTS IN THE STANDS.
  11. Well if you look at his track record, I dont think you can blame the kids for not being excited. Just look at how long he stayed at his last two jobs. These kids need stability. This will be the seniors 3rd coach. As far as the players knowing him, he is kinda of known all across the state for some of the things he has said or done (positive or negative). Personally dont know the guy but when you speak of his state championship you might want to go back and find the roster and look at who he had on that team. It never hurts at the 1A level to have a few D1 or college bound skill players. The question should be what has he done lately? He has won a state championship 2001 but what has his record been since then. Independence 8-13 but if you ask him he will claim a 7-4 record. He dont count the first varsity season of 1-9. Science Hill he was 14-17 Someone had said earlier that he has changed and looking for a place to settle down. He has been qouted as saying that he wants to come back to this area because of family. Just one question, if that truly is the case then why does he also say he is looking for a job out state.
  12. I never said that the SCHS administration was great. I stated that they attend away games and try and maintain control of their student section. One way they do this is to make sure that they know that they cannot, under any circumstance get on the floor. I agree that the proximity of the visiting student section to the SCHS locker room needs to be addressed. Look back at my post. All you will find is that I stated that the SCHS administration attends away games and helps control their students. SCHS needs to address where the students sections need to be and make a change. LCHS needs their administration to show up and KEEP THEIR STUDENTS OFF OF THE FLOOR. MAN UP AND ADMIT IT. WE ARE BOTH TO BLAME
  13. I agree but SCHS may see that as an admission of guilt and we do not know yet if they accept responsibility for their portion of what happened or not. Seemingly the one absolute of this entire event is that Andrews went into the stands and hit a student from Lawrence County. As for smb123 reversing the roles, it would not happen. The SCHS administration attends away games and on multiple occasions has gone to the student section and made the students change their behavior and has never let them storm the court so your scenario about the rest of what would have happened is not valid because the administration would not allow them to do so. Where was the Lawrence County administration ??? Still waiting......... I did not see EA go into the stands (not saying he didn't) but I did see the Lawrence County students storm the court (no one there to make sure that they didn't) so there are more than one "Absolutes"
  14. People your wasting your time arguing with people like "truthseeker" and "mynameisjeffie" they ignore the facts and distort the truth to their favor..I'VE SAID THREE OR FOUR TIMES ALREADY IT WAS AN ASSISTANT COACH...he admitted it..tried to apoligize..it may have been an accident and it may have been in the heat of the moment...if he had it to do over again he probaly wouldn't have done it and have been more careful. It still dosen't change the fact the LCHS students rushed the floor..out of excitement only to congratulate the team...the SRO corralled them up and put them back in the stands...the incident with the coach happened..the players from SCHS were already upset because of the loss and was following Coach T's lead in their behavior..I'm sure he was upset..there were ticky tack fouls called on both teams..both were at the foul limit..but every ref in every game I've ever seen will "T" you up if you act like the Coach did..was it fair...who knows..I do know fans do get in players heads and obviously EA took offense to it..but it was no different than the way SCHS students were acting..Believe it or not I know all the kids that werein the student section and they are good kids.."truthseeker" you should be ashamed of yourself for alledging that they said something racist..you've have distorted every fact to try to make yourself look better..and there was no bottle of anything thrown either..it was just an unfortunate turn of events that got out of control..that otherwise overshadowed a great basketball game. I just want someone to admit that the Lawrence County administration is at fault for not keeping the Lawrence County students off of the floor. It is un-acceptable to have a student section with that many fans in it and not have someone there to keep them off of the floor. Say what you want about the SRO Officer but he DID NOT KEEP THEM OFF OF THE FLOOR. He might have told them to get back in the stands but THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE FLOOR!!! Where was the administration? Still waiting.......
  15. Very stupid SCHSMom! Why don't you say this would never have happened if you boys had played better and won the game this "never would have happened". Your team got beat and SCHS wanted to fight! Blame LCHS for getting in the way of the locker room and getting excited after a big win. Your coach, your players and your principal are to blame for this and the video will prove this! The coach should be fired and Andrews and a few more should be punished! It never ends over there, Twilley wanted to fight last year. Maybe this is a reflection of the coach and administration. We sure don't have fighting problems. Can wait till football Thank you jvb123 !!! Someone from Lawrence County has finally admitted that their students were "in the way of the locker room". THANK YOU !!! As for the scenario of the Shelbyville coach getting his Assistant Coaches and players to the dressing room, that is where they were going. There just happened to be Lawrence County students in the way. Just ask jvb123. It is right there in black and white, "blame LCHS for getting in the way of the locker room". Once again I ask, Where were the Principal, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for Lawrence County? Still waiting...........................
  16. Picture this scenario. The game ends, the players and coaches line up and shake hands. The Shelbyville Coach is so upset that he doesn't shake hands. The players and Coaches head to their respective dressing rooms. The Lawrence county players and Coaches easily get to their dressing room because there is no one in their way. The Shelbyville players and Coaches do the same. The Shelbyville players and Coaches get to their dressing room with no problem because the Lawrence County administration has been there the entire game making sure that there fans DO NOT GET ON THE COURT!!! The Lawrence County administration stays there with their fans after a hotly contested game because they are smart enough to realize that the Shelbyville players and Coaches are about to walk directly beside them. No students on the floor and no players in the stands because the administration is there to make sure that it doesn't happen. As for the comment about the SEC not allowing spectators on the floor. now you know why they do not want them on the floor. RECIPE FOR DISASTER ! Before you start bashing me please answer this; Where was the Principal and Asst Principal and Athletic Director for Lawrence Co? Please answer that question. Still waiting.....................................

  18. I can admit that from the Shelbyville standpoint that some things could have been handled differently. Can ANYONE from Lawrence County admit that their students were ON THE COURT !!! ??? Can anyone from Lawrence County admit that their student STORMED THE COURT !!! ??? Can anyone from Lawrence County admit that they had NO ADMINISTRATION THERE TO CONTROL THEIR STUDENTS !!! ??? Can you???
  19. You are exactly right in that the opposing student section should be nowhere near the home teams path to the dressing room. This is without a doubt a recipe for disaster but as I stated earlier, the blame cannot be laid entirely on the positioning of the fans as it relates to the players path to the dressing room. Someone in a position of authority with Lawrence County should be present and should keep the fans off of the court. I don't think that the home team's administration and the local police should be the ones trying to contain the visiting team's fans as this would also create an "Us versus them" mentality. Just my opinion
  20. Hopefully the game film was still on. If so, it will show that the SRO Officer from Lawrence Co was way out of line. I don't think that Lawrence Co has beaten Shelbyville in 4 or 5 years so it is understandable that their student section would be excited but where was the Lawrence County administration? I have seen both the Shelbyville Principal and Asst. Principal get involved with their own students at away games if they felt that they were getting out of line. Lawrence County should do the same. One more thing. The refs were HORRIBLE. If their was a supervisor present and something is not done about (2) of them, (and believe me anyone at the game knows which 2) it will be a travesty.
  21. I dont honestly think that anyone can say who would beat who on a given night. I watched alot of football this year. I did not see Maryville play until the championship game. I did see White Station play and I watched Riverdale, Oakland, Brentwood, MUS and Christian Brothers. That being said I figured that Maryville would win this game. I was trying to compare teams versus other teams based on who I had seen. That is my point. YOU JUST CANT DO THAT!!! Its why we love the game. You just never know!!!! Congrats to both teams. It was really fun to watch.
  22. Monkey Wrench, .....he is not getting a grip on the situation and making sure they pay the consequences...if he did the fight would only happen once.... Thats like saying I wont speed anymore because I got a speeding ticket. Look how many repeat offenders are in jail or how many people continue to get speeding tickets, DUIs etc. He can punish the kids, he can kick them off the team, the school can suspend them but the kids eventually have to accept responsibility for their actions. Its amazing how its always someone elses fault. Maybe if the parents taught them right from wrong they wouldnt have done it either. Maybe just maybe some of the parents should punish them at home as well.
  23. Wow Jackson Co. sounds like they may be for real. Or was Houston Co. that bad. What is Jackson Co. doing on Offense and Defense to score 54 points and only give up 7. The new coaching staff is making an immediate impact on the kids it looks like. l guess its time for the rest of us in their region to stop taking them lightly. However we all know they still have a long way to go to match the girls basketball progam, who is king or should l say QUEEN in Gainesboro.
  24. Nashville One 16's are off to a great start. They won all of their matches today.
