  1. I had heard strong reports that he's all but committed to Vandy. But since I live 200 miles away, who knows.
  2. When I walked off the field last November at Donelson, I knew this team wouldn't win state against Boyd. Indeed, Boyd won rather handily, as DCA simply ran out of bullets. 2004 was one different animal and Wooden is one heck of a bullet. Congrats to DCA for winning the A State Championship. If anyone deserves it, it's you. Adversity separates champions from spectators.
  3. Indeed I do. funny, I had just talked to someone about him, and there I go giving the wrong name.
  4. Title of the thread is pretty much right. I don't know if I wanna say they'd go 5-0...but definitely 4-1 against the East.
  5. I have my West TN biases, and heck, I was on the same field with him in 2001, but I'll say Franklin Pierce (USJ) has really come on at Illinois. Best ever? Heck no, but one that should be added to this thread.

    USJ

IF I remember correctly, Vol, Gibson County's roster was filled with seniors. Which is displeasing to hear, considering it would be nice to see them winning again.

    USJ

USJ made it to the A state semi-finals doing what they always do. Great out-of-region scheduling, and having one of the fastest defenses in west Tennessee, without the size. Hats off to DCA and to what should've been 2 straight A Championships, from a Region 7 fan.
  8. God yes. Well, there is a division in Memphis of high schools that are not TSSAA, but a Christian (I think, not sure if all are or not) league of small schools. Macon Road Baptist and Central Baptist come to mind...
  9. After leaving CoachTee for about a year, TheSpartan returns to 1A football discussion. Fayette Academy heads on over to Nashville to play DCA in the 1A semi-finals, in which the Vikings win by 6, behind the running game and stopping DCA's.
